The good:  spectacular views, rock formations, bays, lava fields, and seaside cliffs. The black beach littered with ruined ships from centuries of wrecks was a stand-out!! Loved it! The not-so-good: although there is no way around it, this is a long tour.  Ours clocked in just

Snaefellsnes National Park is a peninsula located in Western Iceland. It has been referred to as a scaled down version of Iceland as you'll find many of the wonders of the island in this area. It has tall mountains complete with a glacier and also a volcano. We walked along a

We went on the Snaefellsness National Park tour (that didn’t include the glacier - not sure the tag above is correct) which was a lovely trip. It was a long day with an early pick up but there were many stops for refreshments and the bathroom. The tour was brilliant but in my

Thank you Braddie2014 for writing a review of your experience on tour of the Snæfellsnes peninsula. There are so many sites to explore on this tour as we drive around the peninsula and in good weather condtions the Snæfellsjökull glacier can be seen as the tour circumnavigates the area but unfortunately ascending the glacier is not possible on this tour. Glad you enjoyed the sites visited although you found the stops too short but the distance to drive will not allow any long stops. Packing lunch is a great idea as there is hardly time to order proper meals on restaurant menus. Most areas will have convenient stores and bistros offering quick meals to order.

Today we have made this tour with Elvingur as a guide. All the visits were wonderful and he has managed the timetables perfectly: enough time to enjoy the places, very good coordination in stops to have a break or to go to the restrooms and follow the itinerary to see all the
