A truly fantastic adventure. Hildi (sorry about the spelling) was our guide. I have been on many tours but she was the kindest and most friendly tour guide I have ever met. Please pass on our thanks to her for making our day special. The tour started prompt at 10am and Hildi immediately made us feel welcome. A few stops to pick people up and we were off. The bus was very comfortable and the group was small. It felt completely COVID safe and there were hand gel facilities on board. Hildi filled our journey with fascinating information about her life as an Icelander and the history of this beautiful country. We arrived at the first location - the national park. As we approached there were clouds beneath us in the valley, what a breath taking sight! Hildi guided us around the fissure and explained all about the area. She accompanied us right down to the second viewing platform and was kind enough to take pictures of groups of people.

On the way to the second location Hildi made a pit stop for the young children on the tour - to a farm house that made its own ice cream! Ice creams cost around 800 ISK and were delicious. We had beautiful weather and were able to enjoy our dessert looking out at two volcanos on the horizon.

Hildi's obviously love and joy for her country shone through the entire tour. At Gulfoss she gave us time to eat and told us all about the history of this beautiful place. She genuinely seemed to enjoy seeing us enjoying her tour. When we arrived at the secret lagoon we were asked to pay to enter (not sure it said that on the description) but the price was reasonable and the experience was worth that a thousand times over. We enjoyed a drink in the hot spring and a relaxing hour in the hot water.

We would recommend this trip to anyone wanting to explore the wonders of Iceland with the added bonus of the hot springs! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to Hildi for giving us the most wonderful adventure!

Gummi was an amazing tour guide! We had the best day. We saw waterfalls and geysers. He kept up an interesting commentary on the bus ride to and from, telling us about local points of interest and Icelandic culture. The lunch stop at the Geyser Restaurant was just enough time to have a glass of wine and a hot lunch. My children, ages 12 and 14, enjoyed their swim in the Secret Lagoon. It was much less crowded than the Blue Lagoon and there were showers, lockers, and a place to buy beverages and snacks. FYI: there was not much wind the day we traveled, so the bugs were out. Definitely bring some insect repellant, but we didn't let that spoil the beauty of the day. The tour was slated for 8 hours but ran 10, which was fine for us. We would definitely use Gateway to Iceland again and hope to return to the country soon.

An amazing tour and well worth the the money! Our tour guide Gummi was very welcoming and knowledgable and contributed to the fantastic experience. We never felt rushed whilst at any of the sites.
He was also very adaptable to both the weather (stopping the bus off at key picture spots instead of us walking there when it was raining heavily) and always asked us if we wanted to make extra stops that interested us (for example to see the Icelandic horses and an isolated geothermal lake).
Would completely recommend to anyone considering it!

It was a pleasure to have Jacob as our guide! He was a wealth of knowledge, and had a great sense of humor which kept us engaged throughout the day. As Iceland first timers, we loved the stunning views. The smaller group was also more our speed as we were able to get in and out quickly. Also felt more comfortable due to Covid. A dip in the “secret lagoon” was a great end to the day.

Make sure to dress for various changes in weather. Inside the bus can be warm and outside can be cold and raining. Bring layers so you can have some flexibility. There are a couple stops for food and drink but bring water and an energy bar. There are long stretches we were in the bus going to locations.

The Golden Circle Tour us a "must" during your Iceland visit. The Gullfoss waterfalls are impressive! You will also see the volcanic rock wall where the American and Tectonic plaques meet and the site for the original Viking settlements. In another stop, you will experience first hand the geothermal energy: boiling water coming off the ground. The geyser is espectacular and our guide Gumme was very helpful to assist us in shooting a slow motion video of the geyser eruption. Gummed is very knowledgeable and gave us tons of info on all sights. The last stop was the secret lagoon, a big natural Jacuzzi to relax after the tour.

Greatly enjoyed our tour with GTI. We did the Golden Circle Tour and had lovely weather in the beginning. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and we saw stunning views. Towards the end we got caught in a snow storm with high winds but our tour guide managed the situation very well and was a very skilled driver - we definitely felt safe! We booked on the Southern Iceland Tour the next day with GTI but unfortunately due to bad weather it was cancelled.
We later found out that GTI is a family owned company and the group size was small. Would recommend this tour over highly commercialized tours from bigger companies.

Our family of 4 (kids 19&17) thoroughly enjoyed this trip today. Gummy, the driver/guide talked us through the history of Iceland, told us a few tales and pointed out endless interesting sights between the stops which were all enjoyable. The Secret Lagoon is the perfect end to the day as it leaves you 100% relaxed. Recommended

Thank you for taking the time to write such a lovely review. Delighted you all had an enjoyable day and happy with the service provided by Gummi. So glad you enjoyed the Secret Lagoon, we also think it is the perfect way to end the day. Thank you also for the recommendation.

So pleased we chose this tour with Gateway to Iceland (25 Feb) and can highly recommend it. Our driver and guide for the day was Gummi, who was attentive, incredibly knowledgeable, sharing interesting facts and personal anecdotes, but most importantly in winter in Iceland, is also a very experienced driver. We were a group of 4 and felt safe at all times. The tour itself was fantastic, the locations visited were wonderful, topped off with an hour in the hot thermal waters of the secret lagoon. A perfect day, thank you Gummi

This tour is one of the best small tours I have ever been on. The value for money was phenomenal and our guide - Gummi - was so knowledgeable, friendly and kind (he even gritted the paths at the Geyser for the general public, using rock/salt). The sights were fantastic, even in the pouring rain. I would recommend checking the weather before hand just to ensure you have all the correct clothing. I would highly recommend this tour if you want to see some of the natural wonders of Iceland and gain knowledge of the country’s history and culture.

Absolutely amazing tour. We had the funniest guide (shout out to Jojo and Gregor) and were able to learn a lot about the culture of iceland, heard folklores and got to know about the emblem of Reykjavík. Of course the attractions were astonishing and luckily we had beautiful weather as well. 10/10 would recommend to anyone, just make sure to bring raincoats since you can get wet at the Gullfoss.
