Just a business
Oct 2021
We saw a pair of small northern lights during the bus trip, but when we arrived to the place, the sky had got fully cloudy and couldn't see them anymore. The bus left back before agreed leaving time, justifying that the sky wouldn't get better.
During the bus trip back to the hotel, the guide told us that, as northern lights had been seen behind the clouds, we didn't have option to take a second tour for free.
Also the guide was absolutely dull.

Amazing!
We were instructed to be ready for hotel pick up from half 8, bear in mind the tickets say that this could be the start of a 20 minute pick up window so wrap up and don’t panic if the bus isn’t there exactly at the time stated, as it has a few hotels to pick up from. The bus dropped us off at the bus terminal where we transferred onto a larger coach. The coach was spotless.

The tour guide and driver were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We were taken to the national park, away from any light. On the way to the park, the lights became visible so the driver found a safe spot to pull over to ensure we didn’t miss them.

Once we reached the national park, we had a couple of hours to watch the lights.

We were then dropped back near our hotel in Reykjavik. It was a brilliant night, thank you.

Amazing tour guide and driver

Very professional Tour guide (Lady), can not remember her name, she is very helpful.
Driver was so respectful, When we reached the place to see northern light we could not see unfortunately.
When we returning driver and tour guide spotted because they are not only expert, they are keen to find it and make us happy. they stopped 2 times that was extra time they gave us to show northern light, it was a special day for me, I feel lucky because that was my first attempt night to see northern light. for years I was dreaming to visit iceland to enjoy northern light. Lady was explaining everything so nicely that we were never bored. I want to thank her so much and wish her a bright future. This tour company is the best one in Iceland from my research

Terrible experience
Sep 2021 • Couples
We asked to be picked up from our hotel for the tour, the bus didn’t turn up so we called to ask where it was, they said they would let the driver know we were waiting and the bus would come get us. We waited another 40 mins but the bus didn’t show up, I tried to call to get back through but the line was closed. So in total, we spend 1 hour outside waiting for the bus. Extremely disappointed with the service, would book a tour with someone else.

Consider spending your time in other ways if you can
This was the worst tour that I experienced when In Reykjavik/with Reykjavik excursions. It had nothing to do with not seeing the northern lights which is an unpredictable natural phenomenon with viewabilty influenced by unpredictable weather conditions. First, the tour seem disorganized. We had to wait at the bus terminal 20 minutes and then sat on the bus for 20 minutes more before it took off. Second, the bus driver and guide seemed unsure of directions at various points in the tour. Third, the guide spent most of the tour talking about volcanoes. Fourth, the drop off procedure was not run efficiently. Fifth, the guide’s speaking was not fluid. Trying to seeing the northern lights alas is a must but I sure felt like this tour was a huge waste of time and money.

Funny feeling
They took us out to see the lights even though they knew there was a small chance to see them because of bad weather. Have a funny feeling that they did it to justify charging the fees.

We went on the tour 16.03.2020 and saw very little as the clouds obscured the sky. When this happens you are invited to re-book the tour for free. We did so for the 18.03.2020. It snowed that morning but was a clear sky by midnight. We arrived at 11.15pm but the show really started about 12:10am (as predicted by the local weather web sites!). Awe inspiring and spectacular to say the least.
