  • Hassle-free round-trip transportation from your Reykjavik hotel or accommodation
What to expect
Begin your tour with pickup from your hotel or accommodation in the Reykjavik area. Meet your guide and small group and hop on your climate-controlled vehicle. Set out toward the Golden Circle, hearing about Icelandic history, geology, and culture from your guide en route. Head to Thingvellir National Park, where you learn about how it lies within a volcanically active area. It's also home to the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. Straddle two continents while you walk between the plates. Hop back on the bus for the journey to the lake-filled, 3,000-year-old Kerid crater. Stop to marvel at its magical-looking lake and colorful slopes. Next, visit the surreal Geysir geothermal area on foot, stopping at bubbling ponds, steam vents, and Geysir and Strokkur geysers. The next destinations are Gullfoss waterfall and the iconic Blue Lagoon. Choose to head inside the lagoon spa (own expense) if you’ve pre-booked admission. Enjoy a soak in the steamy waters while admiring surrounding lava fields. After roughly two hours at the lagoon, relax during the journey back to Reykjavik, and finish with a drop-off at your hotel.

If you are going to Iceland, you must do this tour. It’s long, but totally worth it! The sights are some of the most beautiful I have seen in the world- exceeded my expectations. The tour itself was also very well organized, transport pick up was very easy and the tour guide gave enough interesting information but also didn’t talk us to death. Once we got to the various stops, we were able to explore, eat, shop or whatever you wanted until the shuttle left for the next stop. There were several stops with lunch options, there was no set time you had to eat. The last stop is the Blue Lagoon which is the only stop I didn’t feel we got enough time, although we were there almost two hours so I’m not sure how the tour would be able to build in more time with the other stops but you still have to pay full price separately to enter the lagoon regardless of how much time is spent there ($75-100/pp). We decided to go back another day we were there to spend more time, but of course had to pay entry again. We did learn while we were there there are other lagoons (the new Sky Lagoon) that are much closer to Reykjavik, if that is where you are staying. Similar pricing for entry but much closer and easier to get to- so you definitely have options if two hours isn’t enough for you. Overall, we had a fantastic time and it was a perfect start to our trip to see a lot of the Iceland beauty.

What a fantastic trip checking out the famous golden circle.

There was a lot on this trip, a packed out day which did make for a long day but the reward at the end of in the Blue Lagoon is completely worth it. Doing this tour you get to see the very best things like Pingvillier National Park, Blue Lagoon, Gulfoss Waterfall and the Geyser Park.

From booking to taking the tour everything was seamless. When the guide picked me up from outside the hotel he explained everything and how the day would pan out. I felt like we had just enough time at each of the attractions to really enjoy them and understand them. It was a brilliant day spent ticking off a number of places in Iceland.

I highly recommend this trip if staying in the city centre and you want to see the main attractions of Iceland but not sure on driving. Like me, I would do this tour again next time I am in Iceland

This was a great tour of some of the top natural sites in Iceland. We experienced the full range of winter weather throughout the day: partial sunshine, snow flurries, sleet, snow showers and rain. Our guide, Christina, was fantastic! She was personable, knowledgeable, friendly and an excellent driver in the midst of the changing weather patterns.

Our trip started at Thingvellir National Park. Given the icy & snowy conditions, Christina gave each of us a pair of crampons to ensure safe passage on the 20 minute walk through the canyon, past the Parliament and the waterfall.

The Geysir was a short drive. Where we had time to explore and eat lunch. If you’re looking for good food and/or service, I suggest you eat anywhere other than the Geysir Kantina. Trying to get the staff to fill lunch orders took 10 minutes.
Later, two members of our group had stomach cramps after eating their hamburgers.

After the hike around Kerid Crater and a stop to pet Icelandic horses, we were physically spent. The 75 minute drive to the Blue Lagoon was an excellent opportunity to rest up. So glad the Blue Lagoon was the last stop on the trip!

When we first booked the trip, we were put off by the fact that admission to the Blue Lagoon wasn’t included in the tour. Having already visited one of the local thermal spas, we decided that we’d just go to the Lagoon and not pay to enter the facility. After talking to Christina about how much there would be to see/do at the Blue Lagoon without paying for admission, we decided to stop being cheap and spring for the €84 admission fee (it would’ve been less if we had booked earlier). It was worth every cent! Probably the best $100 we spent.

After 2 hours of lazing in the mineral springs with our complimentary drink and silica mud mask, we were refreshed and relaxed. On the drive home, Christina offered some more tips about other sights we might want to see while here. Then, she got the bus going by starting a sing-a-long and encouraging tour bus karaoke.

The tour sites were great, but Christina made the day. If tipping wasn’t discouraged by the company, we would’ve happily given her a handsome sum. I hope she gets a huge bonus!

This trip was really special. Our guide, Christina, was absolutely fantastic and exceeded our expectations. Her energy was infectious, she was really informative, and we loved her commentary!

We learned so much about Iceland as we were driving to each location, which made it a really pleasurable experience. I felt the tour was incredibly well structured, with the perfect amount of time in each place. You can do more or less exploring depending on what you feel up to.

Christina also gave us great suggestions of things to do and restaurants to visit. Thanks to her advice, we saw Northern Lights on our last night in Reykjavik despite our tour being cancelled due to bad weather.

I would recommend this tour to anyone, we had an unforgettable time visiting these incredible attractions. Make sure to wrap up warm if you're going in the winter like us!

Don't get me wrong, the experiences themselves were jaw-droppingly awesome in every way and the entire experience will be remembered forever.
What didn't help was that I spent much of the day feeling angry about how the group we were in were deliberately frightened and 'coerced' into paying an additional ISK1500 (payable to the guide/driver) for crampons. He asked who'd brought any, described how slippery some of the areas were, said what dreadful accidents befall people who don't wear crampons and basically terrified people into 'hiring' sets from him. I noticed that other tour parties with the 'NiceTravel' company had not been 'forced' into wearing crampons so this was probably just this guide's personal racket. I went without and, whilst there were some slippery bits, it was perfectly possible (and safe) to go without.
If you booked a snowmobile trek and were charged extra for a helmet how would you feel? Or a pony trek where the saddle was an additional cost? If crampons are needed, say in advance or include them in the cost; don't terrify punters into an expensive surcharge.

Dear guest, thank your very much for reaching out to us. The experience you describe regarding the crampons should never happen on our tours. The guide had no permission to try to rent out crampons and he has been officially reprimended for this. We offer our guests crampons for free to use during tours when conditions require this. On behalf of the company, I sincerely apologize for this incident. Despite this, it is good to hear that you still enjoyed the amazing beauty of the Icelandic nature and the sights visited and we really hope to see you soon here again in Iceland on a tour with us, where you can enjoy the full NICE experience we strive to provide every day for our guests.

This was an excellent way to see a lot of different highlights of Iceland in a day, since we had a short time frame. We were lucky enough to have clear (but still cold) weather which made the waterfalls sparkle and the Blue Lagoon look even more magical. The Blue Lagoon was truly incredible and a must-do experience, even though you need to pay extra. Follow their instructions and book it in advance - when we got there, many people were trying to get in but it was fully booked. Our group just sailed through, the facilities are very nice. It was great to do the Blue Lagoon last, as it really was the highlight, and made you all relaxed for the drive back, but the other parts of the tour were really interesting too.

We visited the golden circle, Kerrid crater and blue lagoon with a small group in August 2022. It was a fantastic experience. Our guide “Howser” was very knowledgeable and kept us all entertained with information about Iceland, including geology and history, an 11 hour trip seemed to fly by. There were so many wow moments on this trip I wish I could do it all over again. I’m glad I chose this one that included admission into the blue lagoon because it was a really nice way to end the trip and I would have been disappointed if I didn’t go into the water.

The only thing I wish I considered before booking Is that there is a lot to do and that means everyone has to get back to the bus on time to keep things running smoothly. We managed this as a group but some of the stops were busy with queues for toilets etc, time felt a bit tight and it would be easy to get caught up and run behind.

It was fun to leave the driving to someone else while getting to experience the Golden Circle. First stop was Thingvellir National Park. Our second stop was Geysir as wella as lunch. Third stop was Gulfloss (Gullfossi) waterfall. Fourth stop was the Kerid Crater. Last stop was the Blue Lagoon. All of the sites were amazing and our guide, Oskar, did a great job of directing us and highlighting things for us. They Geysir/lunch stop was a bit rushed as there were long lines to get food. We (my 13 year old grandson and I) appreciated the unplanned stop between the crater and the Blue Lagoon where we got to a) go to the bathroom, b) see 2 tectonic plates up close and personal, and c) get tasty treats from a great bakery!

The Blue Lagoon was a great way to end our tour. The 11 hours flew by and we really enjoyed ourselves.

Suggestions: it was a rainy day and I recommend wearing rain gear. I had a rain hat and jacket but not rain pants. Big mistake! My pants got soaked at our second stop and I ended up buying rain pants at Geysir. They're fabulous and an expensive souvenir!

Blue Lagoon: this has nothing to do with the tour but with the visit to the Blue Lagoon. I recommend bringing a hair brush (for afterwards) and flip flops or water shoes. Also, you'll want to keep your hair out of the water. Oskar recommended putting conditioner in your hair which was an excellent suggestion. Also, bring something to transport your wet swimsuit.

Tour suggestion: our hotel pick up was rather convoluted. Interestingly, we tried to board the bus with Oskar but we were not on his pick up list. Another entity/driver picked us up and eventually delivered us to Oskar's bus. I don't understand why this happened but it was a little strange.

I did this tour with the blue Lagoon option included. This was a fantastic tour from start to finish. The guide (I have forgotten his name) was brilliant, very friendly and helpful and full of knowledge about Iceland and the history and geology. He was also more than happy to accept questions. The driver made regular spots and also stopped at points of interest for photos. Every stop is beautiful and the tour is well worth doing. I would highly recommend recommend using NiceTravel, there was excellent communication from the company, the tour guide was prompt and extremely knowledge able. The mini bus was comfortable and had WIFI.
