Jökulsárlón Day Trip with Amphibian Boat Ride from Reykjavik
From US$270.00
Overview
Check off south Iceland's best sites without the hassle of driving and travel planning on this full-day guided tour from Reykjavik. Traveling in a minibus in a small group, see the Eyjafjallajökull and Mýrdalsjökull glaciers, as well as the black-sand beach of Reynisfjara, village of Vík, and Skógarfoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfalls, on the journey toward Jökulsárlón where you take a boat tour among the glacial lagoon's icebergs.
What to Expect

After picking you up from your centrally located accommodation in the Reykjavík area, you will board a minibus and set out for Iceland’s spectacular south coast with an English speaking guide. You will experience the frozen majesty of Iceland’s Glacier Lagoon on an enchanting full day excursion from Reykjavik. After a short stop in Hvolsvöllur, jump out to admire the narrow cascade of the Seljalandsfoss waterfall.

Next, you will explore Skógarfoss waterfall where you’ll have the chance to walk along the cliff top and look down over the mighty falls below. Continue your journey along the dramatic south coast, stopping to stretch your legs on the black sand beach of Reynisfjara. It’s an eerily beautiful sight, with the swathes of black sand. You will also stop for a lunch (at your own expense) in the village of Vik.

After the lunch break, you will pass to the village Kirkjubæjarklaustur and Skaftafell National Park. Admire breath-taking volcanic landscapes as you approach the legendary Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon, and then climb aboard an amphibian boat tour around the floating icebergs. After the amphibian boat tour, you will get a chance to visit the ice chunks on Diamond Beach. You will be driven back to your hotel at the end of the tour.
