amazing, must do!

What a truly amazing experience. This is by far the best possible way to experience the foods of malta in the most efficient and interesting way.

Our guide was knowledgeable and interesting, and all the food stops were amazing. Despite having done it once, I could definitely go again@

Valletta food tasting tour - truly wonderful
Nov 2021 • Couples
Daniela was an excellent guide with just enough historical information balanced with information about the food. It was a steady pace and quite a gentle walk.

The food tasting was delicious! Highly recommended.

Daniela was a star guide
Nov 2021 • Couples
Daniela was a wonderful guide. A trained chef, married to a chef, she clearly had a great relationship with the people that we met on the tour. The ‘tasting’ portions were pretty much a meal at each spot! Not a lot of walking but a lot of tasty treats. The last stop was a tea eye opener. My favourites were the band club stop and the chocolate store. Not to be missed! If you do one tour in Malta, do this one.

Enjoyable and copious food trip around Valetta
We had a very enjoyable walk around Valletta with Daniela. She was very knowledgeable and passionate about the city. We visited several typical places, bars and restaurants along the way. Our main advice is not to eat too much before the tour which is very copious! Loved the final surprise view ;-) Thanks again !

Foodie walking tour
Mick was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable and witty and described Valletta’s history and sights perfectly. Good food aswell so if you go in the morning skip your hotel breakfast.
Well worth doing and great value particularly to find your bearings if you are a first time visitor.

Such a fab food tour! We have done food tours in many countries and this was one of our favourites. Our lovely tour guide was very knowledgeable with great information not only about the food but the vast history of the island and Maltese people. So very interesting and a great variety of delicious foods (traditional Maltese) and drinks (local wine, liqueurs, softies etc) were on offer. Turn up hungry and enjoy! Great value for money!

Definitely a 5 star experience top to bottom. Nick was as entertaining as he was informative. We have a new appreciation for the Maltese history, it’s people and it’s food. Don’t hesitate to try this tour. Absolutely worth every penny.

Eric was the most interesting, fabulous n informative guide regarding the true nature of Valletta n Malta both. He was humorous, caring was truly wanted us to get the picture n history of both the food and the people of Malta. This opened my eyes to another view of a small part of the world. I didn't know Malta assisted the French in our fight against the British for our freedom n Independence from Britain. Loved him n his work. Thank u, Eric

History comes alive with food and walking.
This 3 hour tour didn't get us lost at sea, but it did get us totally lost in the rich history of food, Valletta and some of the best places to grab a bite in the Valletta area.

Nick was our wonderful guide. He had a great sense of humor and he really knew the rich incredible history of Valletta. He made it so interesting, we would have followed him anywhere to hear other tidbits of history come from him.

Our first stop was a local shop for Pastizzi and a glass of tea, served the Malta way. Outside of being delicious, the tale of the origins of this wonderful fast snack, served at all hours in Valletta, it was amazing and you could actually see the Arabs doing what he said they used to do. The tea was a black tea with milk, served with sugar on the side.

Then we walked a ways more, I have to say that it was really easy to keep up and to walk the areas Nick took us all. Even in questionable fitness as far as that went. He was patient, fun and did not make any of us feel like we were too slow.

Next up was a local authentic Maltese spot for a platter of delicacies with sausage, peppered goat cheese, water crackers with bean curd dip, a salad with lettuce, capers, cherry tomatoes, and olives. Then the speciality of Malta, stewed rabbit cooked slow with garlic and served with mashed potatoes and a rabbit sauce. Delicious. Nick gave us the back history of Maltese traditional food like this. He was so interesting. We had a glass of wine with this.

Next we went to a fabulous chocolate shop for liquid chocolate in 6 different flavours. I admit I went back and bought some after the tour. It was fabulous. Such nice proprietors as well.

Another stop included a sherry glass of prickly pear liqueur served with ice cream and a pastry filled with a fig mash up. It was incredible.

Throughout the entire time, Nick encouraged us to ask any questions we wanted to, about food, about Valletta, about the Knights of Malta, about any of the interesting sites we'd seen while we'd been here. He'd give us all a fabulous bit of history that brought the city to life for us.

I'd recommend this tour to anyone. I'd definitely ask if Nick were available. You'll not be disappointed in the food, the tour, the company or the history of all the above. Excellent tour. Take it.
