Graz Armory is a must see!
By far the best armor and weapons exhibit I have ever seen (and I have seen a bunch). It’s the historical armory of Graz and Styria - the original building. 32,000 pieces make it the world’s largest armor and weapons display. Even if you are only a moderate level medieval - renaissance history buff, the armory is a must and worth the cost of admission. The staff is super helpful and all local residents super proud of the history of their city and region represented here. I would definitely rate this as a must do in any Graz visit itinerary.

Worth a free visit on a wet day
One for the view over the city from the top floor. Good place on a wet day. There are two lifts, chose the right one. Another point for the interesting building. Nil for the art. Almost nothing to see as new exhibitions were being installed. At least it was free.

Nice packaging is not always a guarantee
The whole exhibition is in German. Considering that Graz has been European Cultural of Capital in the past, eager to share its heritage, I don't understand and I can't justify this choice. Without a support of any kind I found myself wandering in a room full of stuff that could have been easily a garage belonging to a hoarder. Engines (?), projects, videos of people talking about something I will never know and so on. A waste of money. I suggest to enjoy the building from outside.

    Iconic
Kunsthaus Graz is a superb piece of architecture with a museum. It was very nice to see this building at night with the lights on and also from the top of the castle hill!

    Check out the store
This is really the icon of Graz next to the Clock tower. Very unique architecture. The museum/arthouse store has some quite unique items. There is also a cafe where you can sit and enjoy the time after or before the visit. The visit itself is good with good exhibitions.

    Interesting visit
The visit of Eggenberger Schloß was very interesting. The guided tour lasted about an hour and was informative. The ticket also allows you in several other museum of the city. The rooms in the castle were beautiful. Please note if there is bad weather forecasted, the shutters will be closed, and therefore some of the rooms may be a bit dark. You also can't take pictures of the rooms visited during the guide tour.

    Friendly Alien museum
Kunsthaus Graz is a contemporary art museum whose organic architecture is a sharp contrast to the surrounding buildings that date from the renaissance, to baroque to neoclassical. The galleries are wide open and, when we were there, the most evocative exhibit was a Peter Kogler immersive light and sound experience. Be sure toe visit the "Needle" on the top floor which is a glass-encased walkway with an amazing view of the Schlossberg and the old city. We also enjoyed the cafe and the gift shop.

The symbol of modern Graz - must see
It's cliche, but don't say you were on Graz if you missed the Kunsthaus. Ride around at least. Or see it from the Schlossberg. It's modern architecture in the old town. I like it a lot.

Modern art in a crazy good building
The building was built during the Presidency of Graz as a city of culture. Modern art is on display. I am crazy about the last floor, where there are pillows on the floor and you dive into the world of shapes and sounds

    Awful
The current contemperary automatic music playing exhibition was awful. The performance left our entire family feeling awful and sick. The shop and cafe were very nice though. Would not recommend spending the 9.5 euro for entrance.

    Strange
I'm not a huge fan of these type of modern and excentric buildings, but this one is, although very strange, somehow not an eyesore, but rather interesting architectural piece. Nice souvenir and bookshop inside.

    Excellent Desin and Art gallary
situated on the banks of River Mur and icconic building with black facade easily accessible. This building has several floors for design and art material. Some dessigner cloth exhibition was in progress during our visit and we bought some garments moderately priced and very attractive.

    Terrible
Walking around a building to watch 8-10 short features on TVs is hardly art IMO. I did not appreciate the “peeping Tom” he/she video on display in the wide open for young eyes to see with no warning or consideration either. A sexually deviant piece of art that indicated violating the sexual privacy of others in a family setting is just plain crude and distasteful. This otherwise boring and underwhelming experience was topped off with one floor being completely closed and being charged 80 euros for a COIN PURSE in the gift shop (it was a small gift my child picked out) Thank goodness I realized the price before leaving the building. Take note, you will also need one euro coin to store your backpack as they are not allowed in the museum. No change machine or atm, you will need to deal with the understaffed front desk yet again to get change if you need it.

The Kunsthaus Graz is certainly one of the most striking sights in the city of Graz. This is due to the funky, amorphous appearance of the blue building. We found the contrast to the historic old town exciting, but the design probably won't appeal to everyone. Entry to the Museum of Contemporary Art is free for Graz Card holders, otherwise you pay €11. It is open daily except Mondays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Overall the Art you can see is breathtaking. The theme today was :feminism, violence and somethings really took my breath. You saw things that disgust you, shook you and made you rethink society. Sadly, the price (10,50€) is a bit pricey for seeing not that much. But still a big recommendation.

The external view is architecturally beautiful and gives the otherwise sweet old town flair a futuristic touch, giving Graz city centre a unique expression. The works of art on display are, however, at best student bar level and therefore the entrance fee of 11 euros is certainly not justified. The analyses and descriptions of the works used for interpretation take some getting used to and are macabre or non-existent, making it an act to even find out about the artist, quite different from other art exhibitions that one knows from other European art houses. I don't even want to start with the spelling mistakes in both German and English, let alone the lack of signs or demarcations for health protection from toxic materials. So it's more of a laugh for real art lovers, but definitely helpful for those interested as an introduction.

Unfortunately, I haven't found a word that can accurately describe the mediocrity of the so-called "art" that is displayed in this exhibition center . I will say though that this ugly building, from the outside, does allow for a nice view on the Schlossberg, and that the staff was very nice. The shop is not bad either.

It is a museume everyone should visit. The expositions I happened to find there today were really beautiful. Especially the “ faking the real” !
I have no words about the design - it was perfectly built to be a moderm museum. Don’t miss the hall with the great view on the last floor !!

The museum is known not only for its impressive exhibitions, but also for its unique architectural structure. Many call him the "friendly alien" because he stands out among all the traditional baroque buildings around him. The museum has no permanent exhibition, but a variety of temporary exhibitions that present different types of modern art, so that even if you were here once, it is worth visiting here also for the second time!

The admission fee is reasonable. It is recommended to purchase the entrance ticket in advance through the museum's website.

The museum is located at Lendkai 1.

Opening hours: Tuesdays to Sunday from 10: 00-17: 00.

How long should I visit? Between two and four hours.
