What to expect
Meet your guide in the afternoon in front of the Albertina Museum. Then hop on public transportation for the short ride to Schonbrunn Palace. Once you arrive, proceed directly inside, past the often-long entry lines, and start exploring on a guided tour. First, enjoy a short introduction of the gardens and then head inside the palace to hear stories of the palace's former residents and walk through the historic staterooms and the residential suite of rooms occupied by Emperor Franz Josef and his wife Elisabeth. Listen to your guide's in-depth commentary on the palace's history and the politics that unfolded here. After the tour, proceed to explore on your own; this combination of guided and free-time portions make this tour suitable for all types of travelers. Walk through the gardens, stop in the cafe for a snack, or take in the strudel show, which details how Viennese apple strudel is made. When you're done exploring, head back to central Vienna on your own.

Beautiful story of a woman in her palace
Aug 2020 • Couples
The way Petra (the guide) told the story was just fascinating! The castle itself we didn't find it extremely beautiful compared to other castles, but we were particularly immersed in the experience thanks to the guide and the way she engaged into telling us the story.

Schönbrunn Schloss is definitely worth visiting, especially if you are lucky with the tour guide. Our tour guide was Edi and he really made our time not only culturally enriching but also very interesting and fun! Highly recommended!

Good value
Feb 2020
Pre-booked this from the UK online. Very efficient process for admission and for the guide talking to group through an earpiece. Our guide (Katrinn) was very knowledgeable and answered all questions thoroughly. After the house took us to the gardens and gave a briefing on these too. We were lucky to have a beautiful sunny day which helped.

Edi was the tour guide and did a wonderful job. The Austrian history surrounding this palace was most impressive with the 16th century empire taking in most of Europe, Mexico and a fairly large chunk of South America

Excellent tour and very knowledgeable guide
Feb 2020
The tour was fantastic. Eddie was very knowledgeable and very professional. He was very attentive to everyone in the group and ensured we were all comfortable. The inside of the palace is stunning. It is exactly how I would imagine it to be in the time of Emperors and Kings. We had about 20 in the group and there is so much to see. When you are on a time schedule the guide must keep the group moving. Eddie did a great job and kept it at a moderate pace so everyone could enjoy the decor. If someone complains that it's too fast, perhaps they can pay a lot more for a self-guided tour but you really miss out on having a person with knowledge available to answer questions. The tour was perfect. Thank you Eddie.

Overcrowded tour of an amazing place
Jan 2020
Our tour had over 25 people, which the tour guide struggled to manage. Schonbrunn is an amazing place that is well-worth seeing. However, find a small, more personal tour. The zoo is a must-see visit as well.

Fantastic experience in Vienna
Dec 2019 • Family
The whole 3 day trip was brilliant. The city by day is lovely..very busy as Christmas markets are in full swing..and by night ..magical as everything is lit. Transport was a laugh..very good as hotel was a 15 minute ride away..but it turned out to be door to door.We used bus, tram, train, river boat and taxi....all very helpful.
