What to expect
After pickup at Ayers Rock Resort, travel in a comfortable air-conditioned 4WD Mercedes Benz Sprinter through Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. Meet your Aboriginal guide at the Cultural Centre in the park, then depart from the national park onto Aboriginal land known as Patji. Explore the desert with your guide on an off-road drive that visits rock waterholes and the site where the original Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park gates once stood. Hear stories of life for the local Anangu (Aboriginal) people before Europeans arrived and up to the present day. Stop at a custom built shelter for afternoon tea around the campfire and hear about the fight for Aboriginal land rights around Uluru. Learn about the flora and fauna of the region, and how the Uluru family has survived for thousands of years in this extraordinary environment. In the late afternoon, follow remote bush tracks to a private sand dune with unobstructed views of Uluru and Kata Tjuta. Stop for light snacks and drinks while watching the sky and rock monuments light up with the colors of the sunset. After sunset, return to the Cultural Centre where you say farewell to your Aboriginal host. Your guide then drives you back to your Ayers Rock hotel to end your tour.

Indigenous meaning
May 2021 • Couples
Wonderful afternoon with Michael Uluru and Dan our S.E.I.T. guide. We met a Thorny Devil. Michael spotted the tiny creature by the road sunning in the sand. Dug for witchetty grubs and saw the land through Anangu eyes. This tour gives context for the whole experience of this sacred and marvellous place.

Unique and rewarding experience

It was fantastic to have Michael a traditional owner guiding us through his homeland. So interesting to see parts of the country tourists don’t get to share. This experience made us see central Australia through indigenous eyes. Truly unique. Thank you Dan the driver, Michael and SEIT.

SEIT Patji - Excellent!
May 2019
Gareth was an excellent tour guide. It was encouraging to meet a young positive Aboriginal role model in TJ and hear his ideas to move forward with Parks and with his people. Loved the whole tour.

The Heart of Homeland

Small group experience travelling into the private lands of the Anangu people with Ken, son of senior traditional owner, Sammy Wilson who shared the knowledge and teachings of their people. Beautiful views of Uluru and Kata Tjutu with sunset.
Highly recommended for those seeking a first hand insight into this wonderful part of our country. Our 2 SEIT guides were very good joining Ken in stories and history.

Unique and amazing way to really see the area
Maika was our guide and Tom was our Anangu teacher. We drove over 100 km through the area, stopping and learning first hand the importance of the land and traditions. Felt very honored to be able to share this experience. Very impactful. A truly rewarding experience.

Authentic experience
For those wishing a First Peoples experience, travelling with Sammy Wilson, senior traditional owner is a rich experience.
When you participate it may be another of Sammy's family who accompanies you.
Jesse, the SEIT guide was very accommodating @ enhanced our experience with Sammy.

This tour was brilliant from beginning to end. We feel privileged to spend the day with elder Sammy Wilson on Anungu Country, learning and laughing in this stunning landscape. Valerie was an incredibly respectful tour guide and facilitated a wonderful experience for our whole family. Thank you so much for a day we will never forget

An unforgettable, treasured experience - a must do.
Sep 2018 • Family
Thankyou Wakutjara.
Thankyou Nyukiti.

Along with standing under the folds of the majestic Uluru, no experience was more memorable than the 7 hour journey we undertook with our guides through Patji. Wakutjara, or Ken, and Nyukiti, also known as Malcom, offered something deeply special that no other tourist venture could - the opportunity to share country with the traditional owners. It’s a rocky ride through rarely graded roads used by traditional owners that you adjust to quickly as the appreciation of what you are seeing and experiencing unfolds. Seit’s guide, Valerie, was the perfect intermediary as we stepped lightly on unfamiliar ground that we assume we can claim as our own - only to realise it belongs to an ancient, sophisticated culture. I can not recommend this journey highly enough, nor the Seit company. Next time, Cave Hill. But until then all I can say is don’t travel to the centre of our country without attempting to secure a place on this limited numbers, exceptional experience. Keiren Mcleonard

Keiren, Your response to the tour is exactly why we run this tour. The journey is something that will stay with you forever, without a doubt. To tour and experience the homelands with the local Anangu people themselves isn't an everyday experience for most. I will be sure to send this feedback onto Ken and Malcolm. I'm sure they will love to see it. We appreciate the time you have taken to write this review. Thank you so much.
