Additional information
Our tours are ideally suited for active over 50 year olds.
While this is a walking tour you do not need to be an elite athlete to complete our tours. The walks in the Kimberley are not particularly difficult. Some are quite rocky underfoot however none are particularly long, so we can afford to take our time. Most of the walks include an opportunity to swim in a beautiful water hole.
Each person will be given their own tent but they are big enough to share with a travel companion also
May to August is the best time in the Kimberley. There is still lots of water in the swimming holes and waterfalls, but the chance of getting rain is much reduced. The days will be warm and evenings mild.

Amazing Journey
Jul 2021
To The Team At Inpirations Outdoors. My Name is Maria Timu Tekuru and I have been on the most incredible journey on the 13 day Kimberley Trip with Rubin Healey and Beautiful Debbie. They were two of the most Beautiful people I have ever met and Rubin Healey was actually the CUTEST! My journey helped me over come a fear of rocks and alot of just hard working stress.I had an amazing trip and I learnt so much about the wildernes and outback. Everything went smoothly with the weather and the bus trip on Gibb River Road which I thought was therapetic. Debbie and Rubins cooking was fantastic and they were just so cool calm and collective. They make Australia PROUD! I could not have wished for better guides. The whole trip got better each day and I recommend and insist they deserve BONUSES. 20/10 for the trip ans 20/10 for Rubin and Debbie. Hip Hip Hooray!

SURPRISINGLY SUB STANDARD
May 2021
I received a promotion for your tours this morning which really surprised me, as our tour with you in May was quite a disaster with so many sub standard components with your tour, and never any correspondence in the form of a survey which was promised! I can only presume the others on our tour didn't like to complain either and you should know so as to improve, but your reputation has already been blackened!

Our tour guides Mike and Matt did an amazing job of keeping the tour flowing with the little support they had. The following is quite a shameful account of what you present as the norm!

1. The bus audio system never worked so we missed out on a full commentary for 2 weeks, and as the bus was so noisy with a very loud constant banging it was impossible to hear anything from the front cabin! It was also quite uncomfortable for such long trips!

2. Also our air conditioning system broke down towards the end of the trip. Thankfully we were able to swap with another tour for a bus with everything working (except dodgy brakes) for the remaining 2 days!

3. No over head camp lighting! What were you thinking? Not just for the convenience of being able to see what we were eating but it destroyed the camaraderie around the campfire at night, except of course in the Bungles where campfires were prohibited! There was also the matter of security hiking off into the dark night for the conveniences!

4. ONLY 1 spare tyre for a bus of 8 tyres going along the Gibb River Road? Really! Of course the inevitable happened, flat tyre and stuck in Derby for 2 days! Not remotely what we signed up for. At best this is sheer negligence! Once again the 2 guides did their best under very stressful circumstances.

For the price of $3999.00 it fell a long way short of what we had paid for. I also believe that those unfortunates that paid for the hire of sleeping bags from you, were very cold at night with the inadequate ones distributed.

The majestic and awesome Kimberleys
Aug 2019
What a time we had on our 'Inspirations Outdoor' 13-day Kimberley Walking Tour! Definitely the best way to explore this breathtakingly majestic area which is so grand you feel you are walking in the land of giants. The daily walks into impressive gorges, often amongst beautiful flora and fascinating fauna were occasionally challenging but very rewarding, particularly when it involved a dip in a refreshing swimming pool.
The itinerary is well structured to allow time to undertake the walks at a comfortable pace and to take in the majesty and beauty of the gorges, chasms, caves and swimming pools.
Our guides, Mal and Jon were fantastic. They ensured we all had a great time and the three course meals they served at the end of some very long days were just amazing. Varied, delicious, plentiful and healthy. There was always fresh fruit to be had and a delicious home-baked cake to be enjoyed at morning tea time.
Both Jon and Mal provided interesting facts and information relating to each place we visited and did all they could to make sure we stayed safe and were enjoying ourselves.
And to top it all we had the best, friendly and respectful group of fellow travellers who were fun to be with and were very caring and helpful.
The information provided by Inspiration Outdoors prior to the trip was informative and helpful and the team works well together. They also provide access to great photos taken by the guides throughout the trip.
I thoroughly recommend this trip. I also recommend taking walking sticks and wearing sturdy, comfortable shoes, whether they be hiking boots or sturdy trainers.

It had been our dream to get to the Kimberley's for such a long time. IO was recommended as the best outdoor company by a friend, and for us it was the best choice. The guides, John, Peter and Michelle looked after our every need by ensuring we were always comfortable, fed and watered.
The excitement of seeing so much in 13 days remained throughout, with our daily feast of gorges, scenery and colours that you don't see anywhere else.
The camp beds, and mattresses ensured that our sleep each night was comfortable. The tents took a few minutes to put up and pack down.
Our only recommendation is to ensure you have a moderate level of fitness as you will be tested on some days. But mindset is definitely a part of it. If you think you can, you will.
A walking stick is a suggested tool, it really helps to balance when walking/climbing. We took water bottles, however on reflection we would take a camel back (water bladder) next time.
Our hiking boots were perfect and really protected our ankles from any injury, especially walking over river rocks (dry river beds in some areas). Good (merino)socks are also a
must as they do really save your feet from blisters. You can wear them for a week without smelling.
Whilst you sit around fires every night (except at Purnululu), we were glad we took our puffer jackets.
Another success in the equipment area was our memory foam pillows. We rolled them up to fit in a backpack, and easily unrolled each night ready for a magnificent sleep.
We travelled with an interesting bunch of people from all over Australia, an added extra to the success of our trip.
We would highly recommend IO to anyone looking for an adventure as they are very customer focused, and have the trip planned so well to ensure everyone has the best time.

A wonderful insight into the amazing Kimberley landscape
Jul 2019
Inspiration Outdoors with guides Jon, Peter and Michelle paid every attention to detail to provide a most enjoyable holiday and insight into the history, geology, geography, flora and fauna of the Kimberley. Daily walks were well planned and assistance and encouragement provided at any difficult rocky spot. We saw as much as possible, encouraged to take our time, no rushing as on some tours. Morning tea breaks were a delight and especially dinner, with time to sit, enjoy the surrounds and company. Several 3 overnight stays added to the relaxed tour.

Kimberley tour
Amazing time. Was guided to the most spectacular places. Food was super delicious and plentiful. Tour leaders were excellent (even Peters jokes), info on the region and it's indigenous background was plentiful and VERY informative. I even got to be an expert at tent erection. Yay. Looking forward to the next trip. Well done Inspiration oudoors.

Amazing landscapes and an enjoyable and memorable experience
Jul 2019
We did the Broome to Kununurra 13 day tour with a group of friends and had a fantastic time. Our guides Jon, Peter and Michelle worked so hard to make our trip comfortable and enjoyable and also helped to encourage the entire group to do most of the walks, so that we all experienced the trip together as a group. The landscape was amazing, the gorges spectacular and the birdlife was brilliant. The bus was comfortable, the camping really enjoyable and it was just amazing what meals the guides were able to whip up in the camp kitchen. The tour enabled us to see a part of Australia that not everyone gets to see, without having to buy or hire a lot of expensive 4WD gear. A wonderful trip and highly recommended!

Challenging and rewarding
Jul 2019
The trip was a good balance of activity and sightseeing. I really enjoyed the challenge of new walks each day - over varying terrains and into magical places. The guides briefed us well and helped us overcome the tricky bits. The pre-trip preparation advice was very appropriate - the walking was far more challenging than a regular bushwalk but the places we visited made the effort worth every step. The guides did an amazing job of creating fabulous meals for us and I especially enjoyed the home made cakes for morning tea! We had a great group of people on the tour - all around the late 50s-70s and we all managed the walks. I would definitely do another Inspiration Outdoors Trip.

Kimberley region from the ground and the air
Jul 2019 • Couples
Just finished the walking tour with IO from Kununurra to Broome. Fantastic experience and a great company to go with. Even though the last wet season was unusually dry, we still swam almost every day in the pools at the head of the many gorges we walked into. For those who want to see the region from the air there were at least 5 different locations where you can take to the air in a helicopter or light plane.

Hello Peter The Kimberley really is an experience, the swims are so good. How was the view from the air? It gives a whole new perspective, especially over Purnalulu. We hope to see you again Thanks

An absolutely fantastic experience

We have just returned from our first trip through the magnificent Kimberley area and are so pleased we chose IO. The guides, Stacey, Maz and Peter were exceptional - well organised, knowledgable, enthusiastic and great fun. The itinerary was extremely well planned and our whole group felt we had plenty of time to soak in and savour the special places. Thank you so much for a truly wonderful and enriching holiday. Ali and Andrew.

It was so great getting to know you both and I really do hope we share some more adventures. Thank you again for the books, not sure if you got my text but it was so lovely for you both to think of us. :) See you next time. Go Cats!! Stacey
