A must do.
A great way to spend a couple of hours, particularly when the April weather is magnificent. A fun trip to the end of the jetty on the train before a most informative guide gave the history of the jetty and the context of the underwater observatory. The volunteers who staff the train do a top job. A worthwhile experience for young & old.

A "Must Do" if visiting Bussleton
Nov 2019
Friends were visiting from the UK and this was one of the tours they wanted to do. It had been a few years since we had been to the Underwater Observatory and we remembered being underwhelmed. Wow, so glad we did it again, it is now amazing and full of colour and sea-life. Our friends, who, prior to coming to us in Margaret River had during their visit to Aus, been to Cairns and gone on a tour out to the Great Barrier Reef, they were amazed with the Underwater Observatory in Busselton and thought it so much better! We were mesmerized and could have sat gazing out of the windows for hours. And I must mention our guide, whose name sadly I have forgotten, she was great, and so knowledgeable my friend asked her if she had been a marine biologist :-) We took the train up to the Observatory and walked back, it was an amazing morning and we would highly recommend it to anyone, visitors and locals alike.

Busselton Jetty
Like a small group tour (only 4 of us). Busselton Jetty was beautiful. And we could try some taffy on the way to Busselton.
Thanks Jill for her great service!

Great exercise and well worth the effort
Aug 2018 • Friends
Unfortunately, we were presented with a cold and windy day with sporadic rain; however, we were determined to walk to the end of the jetty and back - so glad to we did! We didn't see the beautiful seawater with a clear view to perfect white sand on the bottom that I remembered from the past thanks to recent storms that brought some seaweed with it, but the Busselton foreshore was lovely and we could see it is a great place and well worth a trip in summer.

Hi there. I think you have placed your review under the wrong tour. This is for a day tour from Perth which includes the train ride to the end of the jetty and underwater observatory. But yes Busselton is a wonderful place.

Busselton Jetty Day Trip
May 2018 • Solo
Fantastic day trip from Perth. Highly recommended. It is fascinating to see the underwater plants and fish in the sea at different levels going down 8 metres at the aquarium at the end of the jetty. The train trip along the jetty is fun with lots of commentary along the way. I also enjoyed the stops at the bakery and lolly shop. The local Simmo’s Ice-cream near the jetty was an unexpected highlight. Thanks Jill for an amazing day out. You are a great driver and tour guide. The route is well designed and I enjoyed seeing different landscape features. I really appreciated that the trip ran with only one passenger. Excellent customer service.

The best 1.8Km you'll ever walk on water
Nov 2017
I originally pinned a picture of this pier a few years ago. When I was presented with the opportunity to visit the Margaret River area, this place popped up right to the top of the list. I drove there on my way back to Mardella, WA. Upon arriving, I would recommend you visit the visitor center to become better acquainted with the surrounding areas. Your ticket covers the price of admission but not the price of riding the cute little train that takes you all the way to the end; then again, why would you take the train and miss all the trivia questions along the way? From the jetty, you can (depending on the time of the year) see the blue whales, humpbacks, and dolphins. It's an easy walk but make sure you are wearing a hat and do not skimp on your sunscreen.
The underwater observatory charges a separate fee to get in but it is worth your time and money...

Hi, we are glad you loved your visit to Busselton Jetty. Just so our readers don’t get confused, Tours with a Twist Busselton Jetty Tour from Perth DOES include the ride on the Jetty train and entry to the underwater observatory. It sounds like you travelled there yourself, not as part of our tour package from Perth. Busselton and the Margaret River Region is such an amazing part of the world and we are glad you got to experience it.
