        Great scenery, great driver!
Joseph our driver was very accommodating. He was an accomplished driver and at no time did I feel unsafe. The country side was beautiful and I would recommend this tour, even though it was a lot of driving!!

        Great variety in a day
Van was comfortable, and drinks with snacks were appreciated. Lunch was ok but not great. Guide was engaging and personal. Selection of stops was nice. They could have been shorter but I know timing was important. A good day in general. Food on train was pretty sad though.

Highlight of My Trip to the South Island
WOW just wow, without a doubt the best experience of my trip to New Zealand. My group just happened to be all girls my age, and the tour operator matched our energy to the max. He gave us plenty of time in each destination and took so many pictures for us. This tour was so fun and provided SO much food. Every time we’d leave the van and come back there was a new snack bag. The bakery was so cute, eclectic, and yummy! You definitely get your bang for your buck. If you do one tour in the South Island, make it this one.

Well organised and a great day out seeing some amazing places.
Our guide, Willem, was great, he was very informed and friendly. It was a lovely group too - it wasn't too big to be impersonal like some tours can be. The places we saw were fantastic, wonderful views and Willem had some great stories too. The train ride back was also awesome, even though it was running late and Willem met us at the other end to make sure we were dropped off safely at our stops, despite the lateness of the train. Well organised and well worth it.

My first trip to NZ. This has been delightful experience. Beautiful views, just the right amount of hikes and rests (some of us also did a jet ski boating along the way -- super fun!). The guide Clive was experienced, knowledgable, friendly... Highly recommend !

        Long drive but amazing views
Great tour for everyone who doesn't want to drive themselves for long distances. Few stops along the way and at a lovely bakery. The hike is about 2 hours and has amazing views! Absolutely worth it! You should be ok with walking over swaying brides though. The tour guide offered some interesting insights into NZ and the area. The provided lunch was good and gluten-free options were available.

        A very enjoyable trip
We took the Arthur’s Pass daytrip with the TranzApline train on the return leg. Clive is a very informative, knowledgable guide. Really liked his relaxed, unhurried style. The lunchpacks were brilliant and they catered for our veggie diet. The minibus was also very comfortable to travel in. I have no hesitation in recommending this travel company. Keep up the good work guys.

Awe inspiring countryside, best day ever!
Highly recommend this trip with Cheeky Kea. Clive, our guide, was terrific! There were four of us on this day long tour to Arthurs Pass. He queried us as to what we hoped to see, custom tailored it for us, and made this day really special. We were mostly interested in seeing the countryside and he did not disappoint. Clive, a New Zealand native, was extremely knowledgeable and great at explaining the history, geology, topography and present day changes in the area. He fielded all the questions we peppered him with and made our entire day really enjoyable and carefree. Our first stop was the best meat pie shop you can imagine, for morning coffee and a pie, yum! We headed to the town of Springfield and the Waimakariri River, where the alpine jet boats were located. Due to time constraints on our cruise departure time, we went into the jet boat museum and shop only. We then needed to do a little exercise and stopped at Castle Hill, a limestone rock formed area, where we hiked a loop trail around the limestone boulders. The scenery was outstanding, meadows, ice-fed mountain lakes, mountain ranges, including ski areas, and rivers all the way to Arthurs Pass. We did a brief stop at the awe inspiring Otira Gorge Lookout for pictures, truly a spectacular view and an engineering marvel. Next stop was the Devil's Punch bowl hike near to Arthur's Pass village, where we could either have a bit of lunch or walk up to the waterfall. The views were not disappointing and really special. We then headed back to town to catch our shuttle to the ship. Clive made sure we were not late, which made our entire day stress free. Cheeky Kea's clean, comfortable, air-conditioned van was perfect for taking in all the sites. We appreciated our"goody" bags with water and local snacks to eat along the way. This tour, with Clive, was definitely one of our best tours on our 16 day trip!

The tour was cancelled by Cheeky Kea Tours 2 months before the trip. I struggled to get a refund for the $5682.98 I had paid for my mother and myself. I had to resort to applying for a merchant refund through my bank to get the money back. It caused me a lot of stress, I only got the refund after 2 months. We were offered no decent alternative by Cheeky Kea Tours, as we wanted to do a 14 day South Island tour and go to some specific places. So we had to book a 14 day South Island tour with another company since the tour went to some of the places we wanted to go. As Cheeky Kea Tours just gave us 2 months notice that the tour would be cancelled, we lost the $299.23 we paid for flights to Christchurch. We had to pay for flights to Christchurch for the new tour we booked as it had different starting and ending dates from the Cheeky Kea Tour we originally booked.

Hi, As per our Terms and Conditions we can cancel a multi day tour with as little as 1mnths notice. To inconvenience our customers as minimally as possible we decided to cancel a few of these tours earlier than the 4 week notice period. At this time a few of our competitors still had tours available, We also offered you single day tour options that could have been booked to get you around the country. However, you were not interested. It is on the customer to get Travel Insurance for any travels to cover such issues.
