Overview
Feel your heart pumping as you sway into a wide arc on the Nevis Swing, suspended from a high platform above the Nevis River. The world’s largest swing lets you free-fall before swooping through the air at high speed. Enjoy a 40-minute drive from Queenstown before starting your daredevil experience in New Zealand’s adventure capital. Ride solo or with a friend, but if you’d prefer to watch you can select the Spectator Pass at booking.
What to Expect
Meet your guide in central Queenstown for transport to the Nevis Swing. The 40-minute drive takes you through the high country en route to the Nevis Swing site located above the Nevis River. You can go solo or ride in tandem with a friend, or simply be a spectator.

On arrival, you’ll receive a safety briefing and slip into a secure harness before following your guide across a catwalk to the 525-foot-high (160-meter) enclosed platform suspended on cables in midair between the cliffs. Feeling the fear yet? Wait until your guide secures you to the swing mechanism, which lifts you out from the launch deck above the canyon floor.

The real adrenaline-pumping action begins when you’re released into a 100-foot (30-meter) free fall. Reaching speeds up to 75 mph (120 kph), you’ll suddenly sway into a 985-foot (300-meter) arc over the Nevis River valley. You also have the option to ride forward, backward or upside down! Once you stop swinging, you'll be winched back up to the platform.

Photos and videos are available for purchase following your ride on the Nevis Swing. Your half-day tour ends with return transport to Queenstown via shuttle.

Loved this! Really good service, from the weigh-in in town to the drive out (with excellent music!). Just enjoyed it so much and bought the pics after to have a souvenirs. If we ever, ever go back to Queenstown, this will be the first thing...More

So scary and so much fun! It’s expensive but well worth the money. Karlin (sp?) was a great driver and informative, we also loved the music on the drive up to the swing. They make you feel extremely safe, double and triple checking everything before...More

Nevis Swing

I went tandem with a friend on the Nevis Swing. It was such a quick process and the crew were all awesome with calming the nerves and ensuring we felt safe at all times. Highly recommend!

Amazing experience

I've chosen swing because I wouldn't have to jump. And it is smoother. But it is extremely high and when you are on the edge of the platform and they lift you up, that's really scared. After that, they tried to distract me in order...More
