Overview
The Whitsundays Islands’ sandy beaches and sun-soaked landscapes lie just off the coast of Airlie Beach. This cruise visits two of the islands’ most memorable attractions: Whitehaven Beach and Hamilton Island. Go swimming, snorkeling, or just laze on the sand at Whitehaven Beach, then cruise on over for sightseeing on a self-guided tour, with lunch at a waterfront restaurant on Hamilton Island.

Highlights
- Stunning views of the Whitsunday Islands aboard a high-speed catamaran
- Free time at Whitehaven Beach and Hamilton Island
- Self-guided tour gives lots of choices for how you want to spend the day
- Hassle-free: includes shuttle transfers around the islands
What to Expect
Make your way to the Port Airlie marina in time for an early-morning departure. Board your air-conditioned high-speed catamaran and set sail for the Whitsunday Islands.
You will be dropped at the beach and have the morning to spend at your leisure.
Continue to Hamilton Island in time for lunch, cruising across the scenic Solway passage. Dine at the Marina Tavern overlooking the marina.
Spend the afternoon exploring Hamilton—the largest island resort in the South Pacific. All tour participants can use the island’s shuttle buses to hop between sights such as Front Street, Marina Village, One Tree Hill, and Cateye Beach, and there are ample walking trails and swimming beaches to choose from. Other possible activities include a visit to the Wild Life Hamilton Island nature park, where you can spot native Australian animals such as koalas, wombats, and crocodiles, or water sports such as stand-up paddleboarding.
Self-guided tour visitors can also opt to visit Hamilton Island in the morning and Whitehaven Beach in the afternoon.
After a full day exploring, board your boat for the return journey and end your tour back at Airlie Beach.

I am sincerely sorry to hear that cafe was not operational on the morning of your tour. We have recently had some issues with some of our kitchen equipment which resulted in the delayed opening. I do hope that the rest of your day was however enjoyable.

If you like sunbath, beach and sea water only, you will have fun here. Whitehaven beach have nothing. There is no any food store or equipment rent. not even coral there and shade for cover. I like the sand, so tiny.

Thank you for your review. There are no shops or development on Whitehaven Beach as it is strictly protected by the Great Barrier Reef Marina Park Authority. There are many walking tracks, lookouts and 7 km of silica sand and crystal-clear waters to indulge in. Whitehaven Beach is one of the most beautiful and photographed beaches in the world.
