Overview
The Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum & Memorial in Oświęcim, about 70 km from Krakow, was created on the grounds of the former Nazi German concentration camp. It is the most recognizable symbol of the Holocaust and human genocide in the world. The Memorial Site is an area of almost 200 ha, over 150 buildings, and about 300 ruins, including remains of gas chambers and crematoria destroyed by the German Nazis.

The trip includes permanent exhibitions, original buildings of the main Auschwitz camp and the most important buildings of the Auschwitz (II) - Birkenau camp. Join a group of up to 30 fellow travellers and explore this harrowing period in human history led by a professional English-speaking guide. The price includes pickup from your accommodation or one of the meeting points, an admission ticket, a tour with a professional guide in English, a drink and transport back to Krakow. You can choose to end your trip at one of 5 central drop-off points.
Highlights
  • Round-trip transport from Krakow (including from your hotel) makes getting to Auschwitz simple
  • Museum tour lets you gain a deeper understanding of the site's history
  • Prebooked tour lets you skip the often-long entry lines
  • Headsets make sure you can hear your guide clearly
What to Expect
Get picked up from your hotel or make your way to Old Town Krakow to meet your guide and group. Climb into an air-conditioned minivan for the ride over to Auschwitz. Provided transportation means you can easily access this UNESCO World Heritage Site without renting a car or puzzling out public transportation. Once you arrive, proceed directly inside and skip the often-long entry lines, since you have prebooked a tour. You'll be equipped with a headset to hear your museum guide clearly as you explore the main camp, Auschwitz I, and Birkenau, where many lives were taken. In Auschwitz II-Birkenau, listen to informative commentary while stopping at the site's most significant buildings, such as the crematoria, the gas chamber, the unloading ramp, and the barracks. Upon the completion of this Auschwitz-Birkenau tour, return to Krakow for drop-off back in Old Town.

A very powerful experience, a huge immersion on this dark passage of history. Surreal. Like going inside a horror movie, realizing it was suffered by so many real people is just overwhelming. You can read about it, watch movies or documentaries about it, but nothing...More

This is an absolute must, if you’re visiting Poland. The tour guide was great, the information was incredible, and the experience was humbling. My wife and I were pretty emotional during parts of the tour, as we were left speechless by some of the exhibits...More

Sorry don't know the difference between the tours but just inform when booking that you require English speaking guide. We booked through Viator and were very pleased with them and all the arrangements.
