We were collected bang on time from our hotel in a modern mini bus and then did the rounds to collect others on the tour. The salt mine visit was interesting and our tour guide spoke excellent English. No complaints at all. It was not difficult to negotiate the initial 400 steps descent. I had read somewhere that anyone claustrophobic should be aware that some of the passages are narrow but fortunately I had spoken with someone who is claustrophobic but who had done the salt mine tour who said it was not in the least bothersome - turned out to be good information and the passages were not what I would call narrow and the ceilings were quite high. The very modern tourist lift which takes you back to daylight was not working so we had no option but to use the original cage lift which had been used by the miners. It is small. We were told that 9 people could fit into it but it looked as though it was built for 4! We were eight and pushed in like sardines. It's a short ride to the top (say 40 seconds?) and it whirs and clanks a bit but it's fine. The temperature in the mine is very mild - about 15 Celsius.

When we returned to the bus our driver told us that there had been a bit of a problem finding a tour guide for the Schindler factory tour and that we had a wait of an hour and twenty minutes until our tour guide would be there. Our driver suggested that we have lunch at a good place he know of just round the corner from the salt mine. The restaurant happened to have two tables to accommodate the 14 of us on the tour. Make of this what you will.

Having seen the film Schindler's List several times, and given the name of the tour, we had expected to see the factory as it was portrayed in the film. Perhaps we did not do sufficient research about the tour but it turned out that although the tour took place on factory premises and the facade of the building was easily recognisable as the same building as shown in the film, we did not see the factory itself at all. The main thrust of the tour was about Krakow during WW2 with only a nod to Schindler and how he saved so many people. We saw his office, an exhibition of the pots that were made in the factory, a memorial showing all the names of those saved and some photographs of many of them. Although the tour was 2 hours it felt like a whistle-stop as we were not long in any area of the exhibitions. Our guide was knowledgeable and whilst I get that as there are so many tours following each other around a bottleneck could easily form, it means that there is little time to stop and look. This meant that if we wanted to look at the photos and exhibits there really was only seconds to do so, made more difficult if you wanted to listen to the tour guide at the same time. I am not sure if it is possible to do a self-guided tour here but if I were ever to go again, this is what I would do.

Dear Sir/Madam Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that the tour did not meet your expectations. We realize that you felt cramped in the lift at the Salt Mine however its size does not depend on us. Due to the regulations at the Salt Mine, it is spacious enough to accommodate even up to 8 people. Schindler's Factory is a proper name for a branch of a Historical Museum of Krakow since the exhibition is placed in the former administrative building of Oskar Schindler’s Enamel Factory. As stated on official website of Historical Museum of Krakow, the exhibition is primarily a story about Krakow and its inhabitants, both Polish and Jewish, during World War Two. It is also a story about Nazi Germans – the occupiers who arrived here on 6 September 1939, brutally disrupting Kraków’s centuries-long history of Polish-Jewish relation. I hope that the above is useful for you.

Fab tour company. Would highly recommend these guys!
We did the salt mines and Schindler’s factory one day and Auschwitz on a separate day. Both with this tour company.
They pick you up from your hotel both times they were bang on time.
Mini Bus is clean, modern & comfortable.
Both people that worked for this company were friendly & knowledgable. Micheal especially for the Auschwitz tour!!
Then when you arrive at your destination they sort out all the tickets and you meet another guide who talks you through the tour you’ve booked on!
Felt like they left plenty of time for each tour not much waiting about then they drop you off wherever you require (within reason).
Thank you Kraków direct!

We were collected as planned at our hotel, our visit to the salt mines was fantastic as was our onward trip to Schindler factory, only small criticism is the driver was not very chatty, other than where to meet, time of visit etc no extra info given about this remarkable city....missed opportunity.

From communicating with Justyna via email (which was very prompt I might add) to the driver Peter, I found this company very helpful and made our trip go smoothly. Peter was on time, he was informative in terms how many more pick-ups we would have before heading to the Salt Mine. After the Salt Mine he was there to take us to the next attraction of Schindler's Factory. He gave me his number to call him back when we were ready to be picked up. When I called he was there within 2 minutes and got us back to the hotel swiftly. We had an excellent conversation with him and really enjoyed chatting to him about life in Poland. Gave us a really great insight. He's an asset to your company for sure! The van was in great tidy condition - it can be a tight squeeze for more than 6 people but it was bearable for the short distance we were going. I would definitely use this company again and highly recommend it to potential customers reading this review.
