When you get to Auschwitz-Birkenau and Wieliczka Salt Mine, you won’t have to wait in long visitor lines as entrance tickets are provided. You’ll explore both sites with a guide, so you don’t miss any important features and understand their history.

What to Expect

This combined, full-day tour to Auschwitz-Birkenau and Wieliczka Salt Mine takes up to 10 hours. The offer includes door-to-door pickup and drop-off in a private Mercedes Benz vehicle with an English-speaking driver. The tour starts with pickup directly from your hotel, usually between 8:30 and 9:30am. You then proceed to Auschwitz-Birkenau. The one-way drive takes around 70 minutes. A short documentary film, The Liberation of Auschwitz, will be screened in the car on the ride over. Your ticket covers entrance fees to Auschwitz-Birkenau and Wieliczka Salt Mine, as well as tours in English with a guide in both landmarks.

After approximately a 3.5-hour guided tour in Auschwitz-Birkenau, your driver will take you to Wieliczka Salt Mine. The journey takes up to 1.5 hours. A 1-hour lunch break is arranged before entering the Salt Mine. You can also be provided additionally paid lunch boxes. The standard guided tour in the salt mine takes around 2.5 hours. After the tour, your driver will drop you off at your hotel or anywhere else in Krakow city center around 8pm.

We used Krakow Direct who were brilliant. They actually arranged the tickets for both sites as well but we used them for an airport transfer as well and their rate was very competitive.
