Overview
Budapest is known for its many iconic landmarks, but finding all of these dispersed sights in one trip can be a challenge. Enjoy an intimate stroll around some of the city’s most notable spots, including the Széchenyi Spa, St Stephen’s Basilica and the Fisherman’s Bastion. Learn more about Hungarian history and culture, with questions encouraged. Rest and replenish during the tour with a hot drink and Hungarian dessert included.
Highlights
  • Visit many of Budapest’s most famous sights, such as the Széchenyi Spa and St Stephen’s Basilica
  • Forget the guidebook, with a focused, small group tour and interactive participation encouraged
  • Receive a hot drink and a Hungarian dessert in a local cafe, included in the price
  • Get your bearings and immerse yourself in the city’s atmosphere as you explore the streets by foot
What to Expect
Meet your guide at a centrally located meeting point, then board the metro and head over to City Park and Heroes’ Square. Wander through the park, stopping to admire statues of Hungary’s leaders, then on to the Vajdahunyad Castle, before strolling to the Széchenyi Spa, the largest thermal bath in Europe. Next, hop back onto the metro and travel back into the city center to visit St. Stephen’s Basilica. Take a brief rest in a cafe and enjoy a hot drink along with dessert, all included in the price. Then, walk on to Ferenciek Square and Vaci Street, keeping an eye out for keepsakes and trinkets, before heading down the Danube Promenade for views of Gellert Hill and the Citadel. Take the opportunity for a picture on the Széchenyi Chain Bridge, then conclude the tour in the Buda Castle District, with panoramic views from the Fisherman’s Bastion.

Our guide was Balint. An intelligent, interesting young man. We were four old people and he paced the tour accordingly. Not only a tour of the high spots in both Buda and Pest, he also had some great insights into life in Hungary today. You can't go wrong with this tour.
