We had a memorable introduction to Bratislava thanks to our guide Peter. He was well informed and genuinely interested and passionate in answering our questions. The tour covered everything we had wanted to see and it was great to hear about his past experiences and recollections. It was the icing on the cake.

A great way to start our visit to Bratislava. Peter was enteraining and knowledgeable, and the tour was a great combination of seeing the main areas of interest in Bratislava, and learning the history of Slovakia.

While being driven round the city was a great way to get our bearings on first arriving, Peter was so engaging, I'd have happily just sat in a café with him and listen to him speak so passionately about his city and country.

I would recommend any visitor to Bratislava to start with this tour.

Our tour guides gave us a tour on an old Skoda and van with stops around the city, and were informative & entertaining throughout. Their personal recollections of the era were particularly insightful and enabled us to see a different side to the city that we probably would not have otherwise come across. A thoroughly enjoyable 2 hours and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Bratislava

Branko the guide is awesome. He knows all the ins and outs of the city. Branko was able to show us things that we would not have seen without him. His knowledge of history and Bratislava is unsurpassed. I have to make my remarks as a teacher of Russian, German an Hungarian languages with over thirty years of both classroom experience and leading groups to Germany and Russia. I took this tour two days ago with Branko. He is an excellent guide with a perfect command of the English language. Branko knows every nook and cranny of the communist Bratislava. He sees things that the average Slovak wouldn't notice, such as the figures on the buildings. He went the "extra mile, or two kilo meters for us. The tour was to last two hours, but he gave us close to four hours and the time flew. In addition, for the price, only 35 Euros, we got not only a tour, but an excellent history lesson in modern Slovak history. I not only merely recommend this tour highly, I'd do it again . I would use Authentic Slovakia again. Great work!!

Had a fab time on our tour of post-communist Bratislava. Maros, our guide, was really knowledgeable about the history of the city throughout the 20th century and the five of us on the tour learnt loads. Would definitely recommend - a fascinating insight!

This tour was great. Our guide Maroš was very informative and gave us lots of knowledge about life under communism and how it ended.

The tour covered lots of sights including the Slavin war memorial, and the area where the iron curtain was at the edge of the city.

Great trip, and would recommend to anyone visiting the city

We booked the post communism tour as a group of 4 friends spending New year in Bratislava. We were overwhelmed by just how good this tour was. Our guide Maric took us round the city and over to Austrian boarder in an old VW van and showed us areas of the city and its history we would not have seen without the tour. It was fun and informative and I can't recommend this tour enough. Big thanks to Maric for a memorable morning.

Went on the Post Communism Tour with the Urban Explorer add on and I have to say it was the highlight of our trip to Bratislava. Our guide Maros was superb, very friendly, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The gifts of free booze and something to eat were a nice touch. It was well worth the money and it was particularly interesting to tour an abandoned subway station and derelict maternity hospital. Maros was such a great guide that even my teenage daughters really enjoyed the experience. I would urge anyone looking to try something a bit different when in Bratislava to book with this company. You won't be disappointed.

A great way to get a flavor of Bratislava. Our guide Peter seemed to genuinely enjoy sharing his knowledge and love of Bratislava. The Skoda is half the fun, restored and in good condition. It is as much a draw for the locals as it was for us, many people on the street or in traffic would stare, take photos, or give Peter a shout out!
I would recommend the tour to anyone looking for a fun crash course in recent Slovak history. Well worth the money!

We had such a great experience on Authentic Slovakia’s Post-Communism tour with Brano. He took us in one of his vintage Skodas and took us to all the Communist sites giving us a lot of history and context. We toured the communist prefab buildings, fountains, monuments, architecture, and the Beverly Hills Bratislava. Brano was a very kind and informative guide. He also gave us Slovakian beverages and snacks and had a surprise for us in the end. He was also a great source for things to do outside Bratislava. We highly recommend this tour!
