Best day ever in Bratislava
Oct 2021 • Couples
WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND! If you ever want to learn all about the beautiful city of Bratislava and Slovakian culture, Bratislava Food Tours is your best option. We learned so much from Linda on our tour. One of the best days we have ever spent in a European city! Come hungry because the food selections are incredible! Linda is such a fantastic person and her passion for food and her culture shine. THIS IS THE MUST DO IN BRATISLAVA!

Best Food…Worse Guide
Sep 2021
Food with some of the best we’ve had in Eastern Europe ; that and because we wouldn’t get reimbursed are the only reasons we didn’t walk off the tour.
Can’t recall the guides name but it was on September 26 and it was just my wife and I on the tour.
We got off on the wrong foot with her right away when we complained about having to hike up to the castle to the meeting location. We had just finished a three hour walking tour prior. Our suggestion is that you inform your clients that they can take a taxi up most of the way up to castle on the town side as an option.
And from there things went from bad to worse. At our first stop my wife declined having any thing to drink as she had her water bottle with her. We were sitting outside and the waiter commented to our guide In Slovak something and our guide related to us that the waiter thought my wife was extremely rude bringing her own water in to a restaurant. Why didn’t our guide tell us that we need to put our water away?
She said that everybody knows you’re not supposed to bring water to a restaurant even though we were sitting outside. That is not exactly true and she should’ve given us a heads up or kept her mouth shut and not told us with the waiter said.
Couple times she asked what we want to drink and I would tell her and she would make a face. Obviously what I wanted wasn’t in the budget so why didn’t she tell me what my choices are? She also told my wife it was rude to be wearing sunglasses when we were talking even though we were outside. And lectured us about not finishing our food…. Telling us how she was raised that her mother said always clean her plate. It went on from there. We could do nothing right.
Anyway we understand the struggles that the tour industry is going through this past year but you are never going to recover hiring guides with her attitude.

The highlight of Bratislava
Feb 2020
This tour was the best part of my whole trip to Bratislava and it was honestly one of the best food tours I have ever done (and I've done a lot of them). The guide was really insightful and passionate. Recommend to anyone looking to have a meaningful and memorable experience in Bratislava.

What a splendid way to spend four hours.
Sep 2020
Linda was our host, and such a great ambassador for her company. They have been doing the tours for over five years, and the experience shows in the no hurry, approach they make to inform us of today and yesteryear in there fabulous country's food history. Through Linda telling us stories about her mum and grandma from her own chidhood, she brought the food to life. But no more Carp! Truthfully, slovak food, though interesting would not be our first choice of cuisine, but we're really glad we took the tour to discover more than just food. Best wished for the future Linda and Matus. Your english was perfect.

Great way to spend an afternoon with family
Dec 2019
We are a family of 5 travelling for the Christmas holiday. My husband and me, plus our 20 something daughters and one boyfriend. We really enjoyed this tour with Matúš. We would walk and get a little history or fun facts, then stop in an off the tourist path place to have a bite and something to drink. By the end of the 4 hours, we were all full and happy. I highly recommend taking this tour if you are in Bratislava!

Nov 2019 • Friends
I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in knowing more about the food and drink of Slovakia. Lila was a brilliant guide, she was so knowledgeable and took us to some great places. We tried lots of things we probably wouldn’t have ordered ourselves and it was great to have an insight into some traditional home cooking. Thanks Bratislava Food Tours!

Fantastic Food Tour
Oct 2019
We are a group of 5 friends who go away each October and we always try to do a food tour in the city we visit. We really enjoyed meeting our guide Lila at the Castle with a traditional welcome drink and the tradition of bread and salt. Lila was a lovely guide to the city, telling us about the city, the food and the culture. We certainly had plenty to eat and drink along the way and tried lots of very interesting food. A food tour is a brilliant way to experience and be introduced to a new city - we would all recommend this tour and hope to return to Bratislava again. We also returned to some of the tour stops to have more of the same delicious food - an especial favourite was the sauerkraut soup.

Traditional Food Tour with Lila!
Oct 2019
We planned on doing a day trip to Bratislava from Vienna & I absolutely love food tours. A good food tour is the perfect balance of learning about a city & stuffing yourself with local cuisine you’d never find on your own. We’ve probably taken a total of 40 food tours in our travels (some were amazing & some were absolutely terrible), including having a food tour booked for every European city on this vacation. I was waffling on booking a food tour in Bratislava, knowing so little about their food, and wondering if it was a good use of our time since we only had most of a day in Bratislava.

We decided to book the tour & had a FABULOUS time with Lila as our guide!! This was such a worthwhile addition to our trip and we’re so happy we booked this!! We learned so much about Bratislava, got out of the tourist areas, and ate the most amazing food! We went to such a variety of places with such a vast variety of food (bakeries, rooftop restaurant, fancy places, hole-in-the-wall, etc.) & saw such a different view of the city getting out of the old town center. Everything was just perfect! I really enjoyed the neat beer hall where we had beer and the most delicious sauerkraut soup, but there was no low point at all to any of the places we went!

Having Lila as our guide was like having a super fun day with a longtime friend. My boyfriend still talks about the carp in the bathtub & how that’s the coolest thing he’s ever heard of. Hahaha. I can’t speak enough to what a great food tour this was! Lila gave us LOTS of great recommendations for after so we really got a true taste of the city! We fell in love with Bratislava thanks to this tour.

A wonderful way to spend the afternoon
This was a perfect way to see Bratislava. Matus was knowledgeable and personable. We meet at the castle and walked around Bratislava about four kilometers. He took us to places we would never of found on our own! The food was delicious, especially the halushki. I strongly recommend this tour if you have four hours in the city.

Fantastic food tour with Simona
What a perfect day!
Today we did the food tour with guide Simona. She took us to different places where they served us traditional Slowakian food and drinks while she told us about their food culture.
Simona is a very pleasant guide, the best ever!
We ended the tour in the Sky bar where we enjoyed the beautiful view over the wonderful city of Bratislava.
Great guide in a great city!👍☀️🤩
