Stunning scenery
Jan 2021
Professionally run tour, saw beautiful Hector dolphins. Motuara is stunning, saw robins but not a lot of birds, but views from walk and of the Pa are stunning

OUTSTANDING, ENCHANTING & UNMISSABLE
Apr 2020
I had the best day on our tour. I have never seen so much wildlife in the Sounds. We saw: king shags, penguins, dusky dolphins, saddle backs, south island robins and pristine scenery. All the crew were amazing. They were very knowledgeable, talkative and professional throughout. Paul, Josephine and Rob were brilliant. Highly recommended.

Best experience in NZ in two months
Feb 2020
The reception staff are friendly, the tour we picked was on a good sized vessel with a keen and enthusisatic guide and a an experienced skipper, both very knowledgeable. What set this trip apart, for us, apart form the volume and diversity of wildlife we saw, was the fact that the skipper and guide were both accommodating and went out of their way to help us see, and photograph, what we were looking for. A lot of other trips so far have been tourist machines, go there, see that, take the Instagram photo. Not E-Ko, this felt personal, enthusisatic and as a consequence we adored it and would recommend it to anyone. Thank you very much E-Ko!

Great relaxed cruise
Mar 2020 • Couples
This is one of those cruises that we both really enjoyed.. the boat was turned off when the dolphins were spotted and we spent some precious time with the hectors dolphins. Miranda Van Der linde the guide who also happens to be a marine biologist is very knowledgeable and was happy to answer our questions. She also looked up a book about birds and we enjoyed chatting to her. Keep it up and very well done.

A good half day trip
Feb 2020
An excellent, professional company, who were very obliging about shifting the time of our booking to accommodate us when other travel plans had to be changed. Really appreciated that.

A low key trip but very pleasant. We saw a couple of Hectors dolphins playing briefly not too far from the boat. Saw a pair of King Shags on a rocky ledge, very close to the boat. Actually saw a seal in the water as well as later a couple on the rocks.

Motorua Island - delightful just to sit by the tiny water pool to watch birds come to drink and bathe. Saw yellow crowned parakeets, robins - one even confidently hopped onto my knee!, the saddleback, silvereye, fantail, bell bird .... marvellous and all in about 45 minutes.

The boat was nice and comfortable and the group size reasonably small. The captain Glenda and guide were good.

A recommended half day trip if you are in Picton.

This is a must do & Josephine is the most amazing guide
Dec 2019 • Couples
We had the most amazing time today on this tour. We saw dolfins, birds and so much more (don't want to spoil the fun by making a full list). This trip was made extra extra special by Josephine. She is so passionate about wildlife that she communicates her enthousiasm to everyone around. She is willing to answer any question. The deepth of her knowledge is impressive. And she is just such a nice person to hang out with :-).
Thank you so much for this one of a kind experience to the team.

Great team, awesome trip, fun for all the family.
We did E-Ko tours Motuara island sanctuary and dolphin watching tour and were not disappointed! Our group was aged 2 to 72 and the guides Emma and James, and skipper Gary made us all feel very welcome as we cruised around Queen Charlotte sound where we saw Spotted and King shags, Shearwaters, Gannets and NZ fur seals.
Emma then guided us on a comfortable walk to the top of Motuara island, knowledgeably explaining the bird life we saw, including bell birds, robins and baby little blue penguins, as well as the history of the area.
On the cruise back to Picton we looked out for dolphins and were rewarded with a pod of Hector's dolphin who played around the boat.
We would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see wildlife, whatever your age. The team looking after us were brilliant.

Excellent staff and gorgeous views
We had a great afternoon with E-Ko tours today, saw lots of wildlife including many birds and some fur seals too. Disappointed not to see any dolphins during our trip but that’s just how the day went. We loved chatting to the staff, Rob in particular was very friendly and chatty, and we found them all very knowledgable. The walk to the top of the Motuara Island isn’t too strenuous and is definitely worth it for the stunning views of the sounds, plus lots of birds to see on the way including blue penguins in their nest boxes. Wine and mussels on the way back just topped it off. All in all a very enjoyable day for a reasonable price, plus knowing the money goes back to the conservation projects in the sounds made it even better value! Definitely recommend!

Awesome!
Jul 2018 • Couples
Visited Moratura island bird sanctuary. Awesome capitan and wildlife specialist guide. Saw many rare birds including the Blue penguins. Bonus close viewing of bottle nose dolphins. Hot drinks on a cold day, and ending with a bit of great Sauvignon Blanc made for a perfect cruise! Great value for the money.
