Bangkok Canal Tour by Boat and Bike
US$75.96
Overview
See Bangkok on a bicycle and boat tour with a professional guide who shares a new perspective on the vibrant city. Pedal through alleyways to discover atmospheric neighborhoods, lesser-known Buddhist temples and important sites like the Grand Palace. Board a boat on the Chao Phraya River to explore hidden canals and find golden temples and historic landmarks en route. Stop for a delicious lunch at a waterside Thai restaurant, see a traditional puppet show and learn about Bangkok's history and culture on this small-group tour limited to 10 participants.
What to Expect
Make your own way to Khoasan Road to meet your guide near the heart of Bangkok's backpacker district.

Start by getting fitted with a bike and helmet, then receive a safety briefing before setting off with your guide. Ride through central Bangkok, taking small side streets where you can observe daily life for Thai people. At the Chao Phraya River, board a boat to cruise along the river and atmospheric canals known as khlongs. Enjoy a new perspective on Bangkok and landmarks such as the Grand Palace and Wat Arun (Temple of the Dawn).

Disembark along Bang Luang Canal at an old trading center where you bike around to view historic temples, then stop for a traditional Thai lunch at a waterside restaurant. After eating, meander through a local market then head inside a typical old-style wooden house to watch a traditional Thai puppet show.
Next up, pedal through the Old City (Rattanakosin) to admire some gorgeous out-of-the-way temples, including Wat Hongrattanaram and Wat Kalyanamit, a Chinese-Thai temple that shelters the city's largest Buddha sculpture, located at the site of Bangkok’s original Chinatown.
Wind down your 5-hour tour with a spin around historic Rattanakosin Island, where Bangkok was founded in 1782. Pass by important sites such as the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Phra Kaew and Wat Mahathat.

Once you have seen Rattanakosin Island by bike, follow your guide back to your starting point on Khao San Road where your tour ends.

Great way of discovering the other side of Bangkok. We did the tour with a 7 and 10 year old and it was feasible for them too. We had lunch in a small restaurant, in those people's living room (not enough place on their terrace)....More
