What to expect
Just north of Bangkok, Ayutthaya, the former capital of Thailand, is a must-see destination. After morning pickup from centrally located hotels in Bangkok, ride in an air-conditioned bus to Ayutthaya. Your tour begins at the Summer Palace of the late King Rama V, before continuing to magnificent temple ruins throughout the UNESCO-listed site. Hear about clashes between the armies of Burma and Thailand, and get great photo ops of the many monuments. Return to Bangkok on a comfortable, air-conditioned Chao Phraya cruise boat, taking in the sights along the riverbanks. Dine on a buffet lunch served on board and expect to reach Bangkok in the late afternoon. Your tour ends with a transfer from the dock back to your Bangkok hotel. Note: Modest attire is required for entrance to the Summer Palace.

Partly great but the boat was mediocre
Jan 2018 • Couples
The excursion (private party of 2) with our guide Khun Na, was excellent, not withstanding the heat the trip to Ayuthaya was interesting and the places visited splendid.
With the hefty price tag for a 2 person excursions we where very disappointed with the cruise back however. The buffet was ok yet choice was limited; the drinks were extremely expensive, the boat was old and we sat in not the nicest part of it. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and look around more then being inside. Even-though all guides from all private parties and groups on board went along: we never saw our guide during the boat trip; only saw him upon arrival at the pier for the short transfer back to our hotel.

We do many private tours and although we liked the first few hours: the latter part was a big let down.

Great day trip!
Feb 2018 • Friends
This is a great tour if you have limited time and want to see more than just Bangkok. Ayutthaya is an easy drive by coach and our guide was very knowledgeable about its history. The tour around the Ayutthaya ruins moved at a well organised pace - lots to see. Then a short drive to the Royal Summer Palace - beautiful - but again the tour moves at a pace to makes sure you get to see everything worthwhile. Then another short drive to the river cruise boat where you get to relax after the busy morning. Food is good and scenery back into Bangkok is amazing. This tour ran smoothly from hotel pick up to our return back to the hotel.

Well organized pick up and tour. Our accommodation was far from all pick-up locations, but after some E-mails they offered a hotel to go in the morning. Intelligent guide with good English (Victor).

Excellent day our and restful trip back to Bangkok
Jan 2018
We really enjoyed our trip to the various sites in Ayuthaya. The highlight was the Summer Palace with its beautiful gardens and buildings. My husband also enjoyed an elephant ride at the last place that we visited. The lunch on the boat was excellent and we enjoyed the relaxing trip back to Bangkok and seeing the city from another viewpoint.

lovely easy excursion
we only had limited time in Bangkok and not being a fan of crowds, we decided to spend the day outside of BKk. This tour, although a little tight time wise, provided both information on the area and an easy way to discover a different culture and religion.

The summer palace was the least exciting bit, although the one we spent the most time in. This is the one requiring you to cover up.

The cruise buffet was nice and plentiful. They also offer a pure vegetarian option although the buffet does have a few fish / seafood options

Well worth doing if you have limited time in the area.

Lovely trip out of Bangkok
Nov 2017 • Couples
We took this full day tour on Monday 27th November 2017. We were picked up from our hotel at 7.10am (pick up time was 7am) in a minibus, and taken to a central location, where we transferred over into a big bus. There were around 40 others on the tour with us - all different nationalities - but the Tour Guide, Jack, spoke English and he did a good job. We visited the Summer Palace - not one building as we expected, but a large area of manicured gardens and beautifully laid out grounds, with several Thai temples and palace buildings. It was very picturesque and we walked around for an hour or so. The walking was all flat and we could go at our own pace.
After another short trip on the bus, we visited the ancient site of Ayuthaya - the royal capital of Siam. This was very interesting and we walked around all the old, ruined buildings and temples here. There were also elephants here that you could ride.
After that, we went to the River Boat for the journey back to Bangkok. Lunch was served on the boat - a buffet style meal. The food was fine, but other people on the tour were a bit pushy with no manners. After the meal, we sat on the upper deck to watch the scenery, as we travelled back to Bangkok.
We arrived back at the Riverside Shopping Centre next to the Sheraton, and our minibus took us back to our hotel. We arrived back at around 4.30pm, so in total, we were out for around 9 hours.
We enjoyed this tour and I would recommend it to you.

Very Interesting
Nov 2017 • Family
Did this tour on one of the days on a recent trip to Bangkok. It was very interesting, however the Guide, even though she spoke English was very difficult to understand. Also she told us that we could rent a golf cart to get around at the ancient capital, however, this turned out to be a big waste of money since she told us to park the golf cart and when she continued the tour of the city, it was at a different part from where she told us to leave the golf cart! Also, it was a large group, and she ended up only talking to the people that were right with her, not the entire group. When the tour was completed, we had to go all the way back to where the golf cart was parked to bring it back to the entrance and return it. Big waste of 400 Bhat. The riverboat cruise and lunch was nice though.

The simplest way to see some fantastic sites
Oct 2017 • Couples
This was a wonderful day trip. Everything was on time, the ride was comfortable and the guide was excellent. The summer palace was really good but just the warm up act. The ruins of Ayuthaya are a must see if you are in the area.
