- 163anetac00Small group tour AyatthayaI recommend trip with guide named Boeing - he is very positive, well prepared and evolved in the whole trip. Thanks to him we had smile all the time on our faces. He was also very kind to answer to any of our questions. The only negative point is number of people in the group: on the website it is written "small group max 15 persons" but we were 25.. which means almost double. In my point of view, it influences negatively whole trip as guide needed to put a lot of of effort in organizational part of people in one place instead of focusing on monuments. A lot of people got frustrated because of that.
- Wre2nxt00Buddha buddiesHotel pick up was on time and in an air-conditioned vehicle. We were then taken to Big Country Tours' Central office to board a coach. The journey to Ayutthaya is about one hour in the morning, plus a stop off for snacks/toilets on the way, and about 1 hour 30 minutes on the way back because of afternoon traffic. We met our guide, Sam. He was so much fun, and everyone in the group loved his attitude, personality, and passion for his job. Well done Sam, you are a credit to the company and role of a host/ tour guide. We stopped at four sites in total, and Sam gave us a walking brief of each site, and afterwards, some time to walk around alone for personal pictures. We were also provided lunch. Which was red curry, Pad Thai, or something similar after the 3rd site. Next door to the restaurant is ladies selling street food such as fried bananas, which are really nice for dessert- but these are not included and cost extra. But, they are very cheap! The whole day was fantastic, and I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants sightseeing, great photos, and history! ***Please note- on the way back, you will not be taken to your hotel, but the local shopping centre. It is located in the centre and has lots to do and many transport links- please read the website and take this into consideration***
- CHAITM-SG00Small Group Tour to Ayutthaya TemplesIt was a great trip and leant some history about Thailand. It was hot weather, but most temples provide umbrellas at main entrance, and is free of charge. The tour company provides bottle water, but bring some if you need more drinking water. Lunch was so so, but no complaint.
- josuegm_08100Amazing trip with AlexIt was an amazing trip, Alex is the best guide you could have, the trips is perfect if you like the temples and history, he will explain you beyond just the temples history, super recommended !
- adelinel75300Amazing day trip, truly enjoyed itSuch a good tour. Our guide was amazing sharing Thailand’s history with us and perfect timing spend at each place. Bus was comfortable too. Highly recommended
- Smwsoulsista00Awesome!What a great experience! So glad I booked this excursion. The tour guide & group was great! Would definitely recommend it.
- kohs15300Beautiful structure in remarkable memoriesIs an amazing place to visit. Lucky we have a guide that book from trip guru, Our knowledgeable guide ( RATIMA) really make the trip more interesting. Visiting Ayutthaya make us see how wonderful an era is at that time and how war destroyed an Empire . One of the UNESCO places that you won’t miss .
- KaShingC100Fun and organisedGreat tour for solos. Lots of things to see. Very funny and entertaining tour guide. Not in a rush to see different things. Fun.
- Katie I00Great TourSuper Boye was an amazing tour guide and the tour itself was very well paced. I thoroughly enjoyed every part and felt each place was given enough time to view and take photos. The bus was spacious and the ride was pretty comfortable. Although it was hot out, the bus had AC and the bus driver gave you cold water bottles throughout the tour. I highly recommend this tour if you want a taste of everything Thailand has to offer in one day! Tip: When being picked up in the AM, give it 5-30 extra minutes for Bangkok traffic.
- lwilliamsow00Fantastic trip with Nush!Fantastic tour with Nush! Nush made sure that we were able to see everything and was very informative. Nush went above and beyond to give us an experience and she was amazing at capturing photos for us. I would highly recommend this trip!
- Alex W00Just do it! Amazing timeWhat an awesome experience! Our teacher, Dao, was amazing and very knowledgeable. The local market visit was for education, not to purchase the ingredients, but very helpful in understanding how markets work and where some of the ingredients come from. The farm is beautiful and the cooking area is very impressive. Dao was amazing and it was so impressive to see her teach 12 people at once on how to cook multiple dishes at the same time. I would highly recommend this tour for anyone interested in cooking or learning more about Thai ingredients/dishes and you will certainly leave with a full belly!
- Dracenfels00A good guide makes all the differnceIt was an early start with a taxi picking us up from our hotel at 6:30am and the journey from Bangkok to the Floating Market is nearly two hours, however, Pengam, our guide was fantastic! She informed and entertained us throughout the whole trip. Peng is very knowledgeable and helpful, but remember, when she gives you a time and place to meet up you'd better be there!
- 651markallenw00Experience of a lifetime.Sam was a great guide. Very informative and funny. The trip was awesome and the bus was clean and comfortable. We saw things that if it wasn’t for the tour we never would have seen.
- Jason D00Williams Group in BangkokWe did a day trip to see the Train/floating markets and Ayutthaya. Was a Full packed Trip and our guide William was great and our driver got us there and back safe and sound. The time on this trip is very tight but looking back was fine and to do all 3 in one day is a big bonus as traffic is really bad in and around Bangkok. Our group was 14 strong and the only thing missing there was not much interaction between us which could be positive or negative depending on you I guess. William was great and was funny and gave so much information so that’s a big plus. Only thing went wrong was we had a pick up at the hotel and that did not happen we had to get a taxi to Radio city at 6.35 as they texted us (which is great really) so make sure if you book you know pick up does not mean your hotel meeting point is what you need to look at and that’s at Radio city. Drop off was MBK and great for us 😜 It is worth doing and you see enough temples and stuff so I recommend this trip to all.
- Zachary I00Must do if you want to get out of Bangkok for a dayGreat experience! The bus was comfortable and had great AC which is a must! The tour guide (“Uncle Sam”) was phenomenal. Very funny, great English too. The lunch was a bit bland/basic but overall a great way to see some amazing historical temples.

Sara shared with us all the important sites we passed by. She also answered all our questions. Very good english. For people thst travel for the first time in Thailand if you choose this trip, make a list of what you would like to buy and ask your tour guide for a resonable price to pay. There are no prices exposed and you have to negociate for everything. I wanted to buy 10 magnets (fridge magnets) and sellers first price was 4000 bth. I negociated to 1000 bth/ 30 Euro (I still wander if I made the best decision buying from the floating maket). Ovrerall was a great experience.

This is a definitely something you want to see and experience. Our tour guide "Abby" was friendly and explained the sights really well. We had a tour in the train and later got to see the market stall owners quickly pack their goods away before the train returns. I did not enjoy the seafood and fresh meat markets as i am skirmish for strong fish smells and the sight or blood. This is not something i recommend for those with a sensitive smell and gut. The Floating market however was much more pleasant and i managed to get lots of gifts at great prices. I would certainly visit this market again!

The trip started at 6.30 am.
Sara and the driver picked us up from the tour agency.
Sara is brilliant, knowledgeable, caring and with great sense of humor.
She took us by bus to first train station (and pee pee island), then by the train to the first marker, where we were able to see the train departing and all the related commotion. Then Floating market which started with "James Bond" boat trip to the market itself, then half an hour in paddle boat.
Great experience, unforgettable moments.
With Sara everything went as planned.
Thank you Sara

Best tour we’ve done in Thailand! Our tour guide was by far the best we’ve had so far…Knowledgeable and funny. Started off on the train to the station. When you arrive in, it’s a funny situation where the tourists on the train are filming or high fiving the tourists on the platform! Once the train stops there is a quick tour of market before getting into position to be the tourist of the platform. After that, we transfer to the floating market. Again, the guide gave advice of how to barter should you wish to purchase anything.
Both tours are very economical as the floating markets are known to be a trap in tourist extortion. The 6am start is painful but is the best way to avoid the excessive crowds

The tour was good but we felt too rushed, specially at the train station market. We only spent 30 minutes there after having spent 2 hours in the van to get there. At the floating market we spent approx. 1 hour and 20 minutes. Just getting on one of the boats in the floating market took us close to 30 minutes. This didn’t give us much time to browse around once we got off the boat.
What i liked the most was coming into the station in the train and then watching it leave.
The guide gave us no information on the history of the train or the floating market. It was more of a means of transportation to get there.
I feel we spent way more time in the van then at the sites. 2 hours each way!

We did this tour yesterday and it was absolutely fantastic. Our guide was Tee. The van turned up spot on time and we picked up 4 other couples on the way. At one point we were actually running early. The bus was full but a maximum of 12 people which is nice as it's only a small group.
It's an early start but don't be put off, it's so worth it. We drove for about an hour (after the last pickup) out of Bangkok and arrived at the train station (I use the word station loosely). There's a toilet stop and then we waited for the train which arrives at a loose 8am. All aboard and then a half hour train trip to the market. It's amazing watching it all unfold from aboard the train. Once stopped Tee took our picture at the front of the train. You then have about 20 mins to look round the market before the train leaves again at 9am. This time you watch it leave and don't go aboard. It's just incredible. A health and safety nightmare but like nothing I've ever seen before. A real cultural experience. Tee then provided us with free cold water and off to the floating market we went.
A short trip in the van and then a James Bond boat (long tail boat) gets you to the floating market. Again another spectacle. We sat and just watched it all unfold around us. Incredible. There's an optional boat trip on the floating market which we did as we wanted the full experience. It was 300 BAHT for 2 of us. Tee kept hold of our tickets and advised us to come at 11am when the boats would be quieter. After that we headed off back to Bangkok. Traffic was on our side so we got back at about 1.15pm. You could argue there was a little too much time at the floating market but it was nice to just sit down and enjoy it.
I'd highly recommend this trip and this company.
*Extremely punctual
*Clean van
*Bonus free water
*Great tour guide
Tee was informative, clear, helpful and funny. Thank you so much for a fantastic trip.

The night before they advised us what time pick up will be exactly and they were there waiting for us in the morning at that time. The tour guide Pat was very professional and excellent English we understood everything and she was very detailed as what to expect. First you drive to the train station take the train into the market and after leave with the van to the floating market, where you take a boat into the market. In the market you can take another boat for few extra bath to go around the river or just walk around on land and see mostly the same things. up to you if you prefer the beat or walking around. After the floating market its time to head back. Very well organized activity and i would recommend to anyone thinking about doing it.

Train market was a great experience however I thought the stay at the floating market was too long unless you paid extra to go in a traditional paddle boat for 30 mins. It may have been better to have this included instead of the long boat ride to the market. Also told that tour finished at 12.30 but didn't arrive back to hotel until 1.45 pm and so missed my check out time oops.

I was here with two friends and Sara gave us first-hand insights into the life of Thai people. She was very caring and always made sure the group did not separate despite the busy conditions at the train market. At the floating market she recommended us that best Pad Thai for the cheapest price, 70 Bhat only. We can recommend Sara and the tour!! Thanks

One of the main reasons for booking this tour was to spend time exploring the railway market. However we spent 15 min in the market, yup that’s right I flew across the world for 15 minutes. Ok that’s a little over the top, but you get point. We did however spend 45 minutes at roadside gas station / truck stop food court so maybe the tour should have been labeled truck stop and brief tour of train market.
Part of the reason for truck stop was the guide, who was very nice and knowledgeable, has us ride the train into the market which was cool and an appreciated that experience, however logistically this should have planned better. We could have arrived at the market first, give us the hour to explore and maybe take the train out of the market for a stop to two. The truck stop and “lunch break” at the floating market accounted for the majority of the trip. The floating market was about 40 min or so.
Now let’s talk about the floating market, this one is totally commercialized for tourism. Instead of walking between vendors on the street with exactly the fare for sale, now you go in a boat and see the same stuff. All that being said It is nice to be out on the water.
Who is this tour for, well since I like cultural experiences, this is defiantly not for me. If your looking for off the beaten track, nope. If your looking for new products, hand made crafts etc …. Nope. If a day trip with family is on the agenda sure. If your looking just to “check it out” on a surface level then yup good trip for you. If your a photographer looking for market shots or a traveler who wants to get a good flavor of the area, forget about it, hire a driver and come yourself.
If you happen to have any significant mobility issues I would also steer you away from this tour. Getting on and off the train will be an issue. Also the train market is narrow around the tracks but it does extend further inwards from the tracks. Just so y’a know there are a ton on tourists there and they tend congregate along the train track.
For many this will be a nice escape day from Bangkok and an ok but not an overly memorable experience. I honestly know it take a lot to plan out a day tour, but I really cannot recommend this one.

Hi Carter, probably not. Traffic is quite heavy sometimes and the return trip from the last stop is 2.5 hrs as it is quite a distance away. We didn’t return to BK until after 2:30.

Open every day, go in the morning as it’s bustling with activities. Normally Asian goes to wet markets in the morning as they can get fresh vegetables, fish and meat.
