About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- RiaazE10 contributionsBucket list “sexy” tourPick up was on time. Very well coordinated tour. Staff made us feel very comfortable and kept us entertained. Safety was a priority. Shout out to “Sexy Goodie”, our tour guide. Advice for travellers is to take the photography package when you get arrive at the Marina. Cost was decent. Dedicated photographer comes with you on the trip. We did not have to worry about taking pictures. Allowed us more time to actually enjoy the scenery.Written 12 January 2025
- Craig00 contributionsFantastic TourEnjoyed a fantastic tour with Sonny and the team on New Year's Day. There was a small mixup getting picked up from our hotel (perhaps the driver had a big night) but it was all fixed up fairly smoothly. Tour was excellent, it is run to the minute in terms of timing. Lots of drinks and food available throughout the day and the boat is exceptionally clean, it's nearly as if the crew will get into trouble if a speck of sand makes its way onto the boat. The other great part about this trip is that you're back early so you still have time to do other things for the rest of the day. We also got the photo package, which in the scheme of things is fairly good value, as long as you are happy to getting photos taken of you for most of the day! Definitely recommend this tour, there are some great sights to see, fantastic swimming places and not a huge amount of people.Written 10 January 2025
- Venture418607172960 contributionsGreat trip - well worth itThis was an amazing day trip - we went as a family - 3 kids 10, 13 & 15yrs and all loved it. Well timed stops and beautiful snorkelling nd swimming experiences. The buffet lunch was beautiful. We are strong swimmers so had lots of fun exploring but many people wore life jackets etc Fyi - the boat ride to islands is very bumpy so if you're prone to motion sickness be prepared !Written 6 January 2025
- jody n0 contributionsFun family day outA really fantastic family adventure day made memorable and fun by our brilliant tour guide Goodie! Highlights included swimming and snorkeling in beautiful water, visiting iconic locations and jumping off the boat into the water Some sites were very busy but that’s the way it is on everything at this time of year on these We felt well looked after every step of the way with friendly and helpful crew there to give a hand up or a refreshment where ever we needed it.Written 4 January 2025

The crew were incredible and had amazing skills navigating the boat in tight spaces around many other boats. While the conditions werent conducive to doing everything that was planned, the crew made sure we had a great tour and they provided outstanding service throughout the day.Written 24 December 2024

- colin_dougan0 contributionsExcellent trip. Small Group. Great Crew. Fast boat. Breathtaking scenery. 100% recommended.Excellent Sunrise trip out to the Phi Phi Islands. Magnificent speedboat (needed cos the islands are a long way from Phuket 🤣) Visited Maya Bay (The Beach - Leonardo DiCaprio), Viking Caves, Monkey Beach, Bamboo Island, Phi Phi Ley and Phi Don. The crew, led by Ibi, were amazing and great fun - attending to all our needs, sorting snorkelling gear, showering us off as we boarded the boat, offering drinks and snacks as we went. Lunch was excellent on Phi Phi Don. Our group was 18 people, which was the sort of size I’d hoped for, rather than the bigger boats. Picked the trip on the back of Tripadvisor recommendation and definitely happy to add my recommendation.Written 19 December 2024
- koreenr80 contributionsGreat private snorkeling tourNikki and crew took great care of us on this tour. They offered great customer service, ensuring safety on the boat, including minding the current, pointing out sea creatures, offering refreshments and finding a private spot on a beach for lunch.Written 16 December 2024
- ayrshirestevie0 contributionsA day we'll never forgetEverything about this tour was fantastic. We booked Wednesday to go Thursday morning. Pick up from hotel was at 04:40. Headed to the Royal phuket marina where the admin side of things was completed and we were sorted into groups. Only took around 15mins. Our group of 18 were on the speedboat and off for 6am. Sunny the lead tour guide was fantastic all day as were the rest of the crew. We had breakfast on Khai island to watch sunrise then onto Maya Bay. Stunning beach but even at this time of the morning it was getting busy. Few other stops with the option of swimming and snorkeling then onto phi phi Don for lunch. Plenty food to go around. Last stop was bamboo island. All day long the crew gave us fruit, water and soft drinks. Good bunch of holiday makers on the tour. We had a fantastic day. Got back to our hotel just after 3pm. All in all this was a top notch day. Very well organised Would have no hesitation recommending these guys or booking Any of the other tours on offer. Great day, great people and out of this world places visited. 5 stars to these guys who make you feel welcome and comfortable. Stevie and Susan from Glasgow, ScotlandWritten 12 December 2024

- Andrea K0 contributionsBest way to see Phi Phi Island is this small group tour! From the punctual pick up to the transfer back we were treated with courtesy and respect. The check in and information was efficient and we were soon on our way to the first island to watch the sunrise whilst enjoying a simple breakfast the crew prepared for us. We were shuttled to each destination ahead of the crowds thanks to Mr Alan and his crew, Captain Banana, Ollie and Jonas. The passion Mr Alan has for his boats and giving his guests a wonderful experience is exemplary. The lunch and venue will be something we shall remember always and the snorkelling was incredible. This is the tour to be on!Written 6 December 2024

My wife and I went on this day trip to Phi Phi islands on Saturday 1st February 2020.
A very well run tour. We were picked up at our Hotel on Karon Beach promptly at 0730. That is a massive plus for me as timings are important. If you say your gonna pick me up at 0730 then I expect to be picked up at 0730. So very well done on the pick up front.
We were transported to The Royal Phuket Marina where we were met by Big Mac who gave us an orientation brief and explained the day. Very good brief by Big Mac no hard sell of optional extra’s, yes he mentioned the photo’s and the fins but didn’t try the hard sell. They also had sea sickness tablets for free that were recommended and offered. So initial Orientation and Briefs gets a very big Well done.
After approx 1 hour wait at the Marina waiting for other participants to arrive and safety checks carried out on boat we boarded the boat. Our Boat was No 9.
We were given life Jackets and took our seats. Our main guide for the day was Leo and he was a little star. His introduction was good and his commentary throughout the day was really good. In fact the whole crew on boat 9 were excellent, everyone from the captain of the boat, who professionally navigated the boat through rough seas to each location to the young deck hand who was always on hand to help everyone on and off the boat. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for any of the crew.
Throughout the day we visited Bamboo Island (you need beach water shoes for this stop as there are rocks everywhere in the swimming area). We stopped for lunch on Phi Phi island which was good edible food to be fair.
After lunch we boarded the boat again and went to a secluded cove for some snorkelling which was great fun. Fish everywhere although the coral looked like it was dying.
After an hour of snorkelling we went to another cove near Maya Bay (famous from the Film the Beach with Leonardo Di Capri) to swim and jump off the boat into the deep lagoon a few times.
We then did a drive by of actual Maya Bay. Maya bay is out of Bounds for the next 3 - 4 years due to the Thai government trying to protect the Coral which is getting destroyed by mass tourism. So we went into the bay but could not swim or leave the boat. Well done Thai Government for trying to save the Coral.
We then left Maya Bay for the 1 Hour Return Journey to Phuket Marina. We arrived back at the Marina where our pickup to return us to our hotel was already waiting.
This was a great day out, run by what seems to be a very professional, safety conscious company.
For the price we paid it was well worth it. The same tour if booked via the company that Virgin Holidays uses for excursions in Thailand would of been at least £50 more.
So to all the crew of Boat 9 on Saturday 1st February 2020 thanks for a great day.

Overall fantastic value for money. Professional to the core - timely pick up, clear communications in advance, focused on safety, knowledgeable crew who will take the time to explain all the attractions to you (even multiple languages if you need). Snorkeling kit and lunch is included as part of the tour - underwater photos, fins or specialized equipment is chargeable (but reasonable).
You can get cheaper trips locally but the overall quality and comfort of this tour is really good and well worth the price!

I chose V-marine for our Phi Phi speedboat tour after reading a few reviews of companies that left a lot to be desired. The feedback for V Marine was consistently good and booking and paying through trip advisor took me 5 minutes. I was taking my boys age 6 and 7 with me on my own, so I wanted a good and safe experience. The company is contactable via whatsapp and responds quickly with any queries.
The vehicle picked us up on time from our apartment in Panwa and took us to the marina where we were greeted in an airy and cool waiting area with coffe, croissant, juice and travel sickness pills (if you want them). There were things for sale but there was no hard push for any of it. We purchased the photo package so that we could get pictures all together as a family and it was worth every penny - the pictures are amazing and thee photogrpahers friendly and great with the boys.
The induction was clear and honest (about weather conditions etc). The boat was high spec and comfortable and the snorkel equipment in good condition. Great high quality life jackets were provided for the kids (approproaite size) and adults. We took our own snorkel equipment to make sure the kids' fins fitted well, but you can rent fins for 200TB. Masks and snorkels are free. You are provided with drinks (water and soda) and snacks (biscuits, fruits) througout and lunch on Phi Phi Don is varied and tasty at a nice hotel overlooking the bay. The driver was sensible and the staff looked after the boys so well, talking and joking with them. Leo, our guide, was amazing and good fun!
I have not a bad word to say about this trip and V-Marine. It's worth every penny.

I wouldn't go again, nor recommend to any of my friends.
As far as I experienced and read about many review of such kind of tours, I've come to the conclusion to don't purchase again any Phi Phi tour. I took so long to choose the best one but even this one that looked like the best was OK.
I must say we probably have been the most unlucky trip of the year but in my entire life I've never had such a disappointing trip.
The problems every company is facing are the time, the weather, cleanliness of water and the number of tourists.
What I didn't like: they try to stick as many islands as they can in short time. This makes the tourist rush from island to island feeling like a trip at the zoo. I personally didn't feel valued as a tourist but I felt like being a number in a mass of people. I have been in several beach paradises all over the world, overcrowded or peaceful but this feeling has just happened here in Phuket. I feel sorry to write it but I believe they have to try to manage the mass better, especially seeing how much money they ask for such services.
What I didn't like in my specific trip: unfortunately, short after the snorkeling after lunch, one of our 3 motors broke so we wasted so so so many of the things they planned to make us see. We made it to arrive at Maya bay and there we had to wait another boat to come to rescue us and this obviously took more than an hour. Once we got into the other boat there was no more time to visit anything else, plus the sea conditions at that late hours of the afternoon were terrible. This lead us,for example, to catch just a glimpse (not even a good photo was possible) of the Viking cave, feeling even lucky to arrive to that spot. That was the only thing we could reach after the motor broke.
Snorkeling: the first spot where they bring you it's a shore, I believe it was bamboo island, if you actually want to see any life under water you must swim so much away from the shore that you probably will miss the time to go back to the boat. Second spot: in the middle of the sea where I supposed to be able to see something interesting but no. Just some random little fish. So I've been left wondering whether are phi phi islands are worth to see anything under water or if we have been just unlucky to reach this place.
There was no sence in this trip, I totally felt like I wasted a day I could spend it better going in some shore of the main island enjoying more.

Greetings from V. Marine Tour,
We are deeply sorry to read that this was the feelings you felt from coming on our tour because we always wish for our guests to leave with the best experiences, memories and photos from Phi Phi Islands. Unfortunately we encountered the unexpected situation that one of the motors malfunctioned and we truly want you to know that our boat and office staff did the best they could to resolve the situation as fast as they could. We had your concerns in mind and due to limitations of having tours in the islands, things take longer to fix than for example malfunctions that can occur on land.
Overall, the time that this trip occurred was during peak season which is the most busy time of the year for all businesses and tourist attractions in Phuket and Phi Phi Islands. We wish for you to have a better outlook on how Phi Phi Islands is, but we understand that everyone has the right to their opinion.
We are still very sad to know that this is how you felt from our tour, so we kindly ask that you contact us directly by WhatsApp or email so that we can better resolve this situation. We want you to know that we sincerely care about how our guests feel and believe that we can find a way to fix this so that you can have a little bit of positivity from your island experience.

I was reluctant to go on a tour to the Phi Phi islands because I read it was so over run by tourists that it was ruining the environment, we chose this one mainly because of the snorkelling. Our tour left late because they had engine problems with the boat. The first stop was ok but not very good for snorkelling - it is extremely shallow and with the speed boats coming in constantly creates waves and you end up grazing your legs/feet/arms over the coral. It is extremely overrun with tourists. The second stop was snorkelling in open water, this was a much better experience as you are actually able to snorkel properly because the water is deep enough. The buffet lunch provided is not bad and the location is lovely, one of the quieter places out of the lot. The tour guide is very good, explains a lot about each of the locations. While the trip into Pileh Lagoon is absolutely stunning, it is also extremely crowded with dozens of tourist boats. The tour mentions time allowed for relaxing, but I did not feel there was much time for that as we are constantly getting on and off the boat with all the places you visit. Be aware that at the start of the tour, you are offered a 'photographer' for the day (at a cost!) who will photograph you professionally throughout the tour. The people who hire the photographer are given priority photographing opportunities and everyone else is pushed out of the way. This doesn't mean you can't get photos yourself, but be prepared to allow the photographer to take all the photos of the 'paying customers' first. This was probably the most disappointing part of the tour for me.

we really enjoyed it. Good information and the islands were lovely. . It does depend on the conditions. The speedboat was a good enough to the islands, there is a big distance between islands. It can get very bouncy, so make sure you either take the tablets they offer or sit where you are comfortable. Closer to the front is very bouncy. The snorkels are free but if you want to have the face one or flippers, you need to pay more. They provide soft drinks on he boat. The lunch is nice, was a few options. We went to a bar after to get a couple of drinks while looking at the beach.

Myself and my husband went on this tour on our wedding anniversary. It was a fantastic day all round. We had originally booked the day trip with lunch but were offered a free upgrade to the sunrise tour which we accepted. This included breakfast on one of the Kai islands watching the beautiful sunrise. Snorkelling locations well chosen as there were lots of fish to see.
We were provided with as water or soft drinks as we wanted and fresh fruits.
Would thoroughly recommend

We had a great time on this day-trip tour of some of the Phi Phi islands! There were only ~25 people on our boat, which could fit up to 40, and we were definitely glad for the smaller number. Our guide, Goodie, was informative while being hilarious and I would recommend him above all others for this experience!! The crew was also great, helping everyone on and off the boat, hosing people off, keeping the boat clean, etc. There was also plenty of beverages and snacks onboard, with the snacks rotating throughout the day (bananas, a kind of coconut cake sandwich which was delicious, watermelon and pineapple, waters, Coca Cola, etc.). This was our itinerary:
o We were picked up from our hotel along with a few other groups and brought to the marina. While there, we paid final balances, had a chance to get coffee and had a brief explanation of the day.
o Then, we boarded the boat and traveled for ~1 hour to get to the first location, which was Bamboo Island/Koh Pai. Bamboo Island had amazing snorkeling and swimming, and was overall gorgeous.
o Next, we went to Ko Phi Phi Don where we had a delicious buffet lunch at a resort and then had time for some swimming, in the sea or in the resort pool.
o After lunch, we went to another location for more snorkeling, which was deeper than the first stop.
o We then went to Monkey Beach, where we saw many adorable monkeys (though definitely keep your distance & old on to your hats!).
o From there, we boated past and learned about Viking Cave on our way Pileh Bay, which had high tide so we were able to go in and swim.
o Afterwards, we went to Maya Beach, which is open for people to see but people were not allowed to get more than calf deep in the water.
o After Maya beach, we headed back to the marina.

Phi Phi island trip with V Marine is the best decision we have taken in our Thailand tour. We started our tour at 7.45 am in the morning. Day before starting the trip they gave us a detailed infomation about what to expect in the trip, what to bring, what will be provided etc. You will be fully aware of your trip and activity before it starts. After we were shifted to Marina pier ,we were offered light breakfast . The manager Mr. Max again briefed us about the tour and the islands we will be covering along with the activities we will be doing. Our tour started at exactly the same time they have told us with a group of 19 people. The the speed boat was very and clean and comfortable. The captain Mr. Ray and his team was execellent. They took excellent care of every guests and also their minute needs. Refreshments ( fresh fruits, cakes) were being served in regular intervals. Coke and water was unlimited. For lunch they have taken us to a beautiful beach restaurant in one of the islands. The lunch is quite amazing with the view. V Marine has fulfilled every commitment they have made in the site , even more. The hospitality, the service all are top notch. They always tried to keep avoiding the crowds and kept our boat in the lesser busy area so that we can enjoy the scenary. Special mention to Mr. Leo (our photographer), we do recommend to hire a photographer with some extra bucks, because it is very difficult to take pictures with so much a activity in the water. Mr. Leo has taken many amazing pictures. Overall Phi Phi island tour with V Marine worth every penny. They have given us a wonderful experience.

We did the day visit to the Phi Phis with around 4-5 stops by and large. Did some swimming. Saw a few monkeys. There are visits that will let you off at monkey seashore however I can perceive any reason why this one doesn't. Such a significant number of individuals on one little seashore can truly do some harm. I'm upbeat we delighted in it from a far distance. We leased blades and the full face goggles yet I'm certain the ordinary free goggles and snorkel are fine. Bring parts and heaps of sunscreen as your out in the sun throughout the day. the lunch buffet was extraordinary and bunches of chances for pictures. the picture taker choice is extraordinary. the photographic artists make a special effort to take incredible pictures for you and of you. would do this visit once more. extraordinary help. extraordinary group.

If we are checking out from the hotel to join the day trip, can we keep our carryon luggage safely in the v.marine office? Is there any locker facility?

How many times do you stop to snorkel ? Also do you stop at areas that is not too crowded ? Are there stops where we jump off the boat to snorkel ?
Written 13 November 2024
We stopped to snorkel 3 times and in a swimming area once. The only island that was really crowded was Maya where ‘The Beach’ was filmed.
