- Maya S00MAY IS THE BEST!Join the 2 day 1 night trekking tour. The treks were long but manageable. It is definitely a hike. The views are amazing and filled with local destination spots. I would highly recommend this trip. You stay in a bungalow home stay which is essentially a glorified hostel. Be aware of this before booking.

We loved the tour with Mr Phong! He was very engaging and upbeat, and said quite a few legends and stories about vietnam and these caves we visited. He cracked a few jokes which I thought was pretty funny as well. Mr Phong also gave us good tips on spotting animals, cave structures lookalikes and was overall a great tour guide.
I thought the tour was very well paced, we had enough time on both islands (Tip top and Sung Sot) and a good 30-min kayak to see the cave. (TIP: Kayaking is fun, free and pretty easy for beginners = Worth it! ) If I were to give any advice, it would be to just hope for good weather. It was rainy in the morning which is normal in August, which made the view less spectacular, but it cleared up by noon for us all to chill on the upper deck on the way back.

Lunch on the boat was quite decent/ good- the clams tasted fresh. The French fries (with biscuits, fruit and tea/wine) during the boat ride back was truly such a nice treat after such a fulfilling day. This is definitely worth your buck, and I dare say one of the best day cruises in Ha Long Bay.

The best part of the trip was our guide, Happy. He was thoughtful, knowledgeable, and entertaining. The arrangements were easy to make and we were picked up on time.
Be warned… you will need to take enough water for the day with you. When they provide a small water in the car, they’re not lying, because that is all you will get. You are forced to purchase any other drinks for the rest of the day, and you will be hot. There was a sign saying they would charge us for bringing our own water, but they didn’t.
They did separate all the vegetarians into one table away from their groups so my wife didn’t get to eat lunch with us. I’m not sure if that’s because they can’t figure out who gets what or it’s to be absolutely sure not to mix.
The bay is beautiful and you will take 100’s of photos. The Surprise Cave is almost worth the whole trip but will have to climb quite a bit.
The bamboo boats aren’t made of bamboo, but they do take you through a small cave. There were 100’s of people in the bay when we did this so our boat got banged around a bit.
By the time we got to Titop mountain, we were exhausted and dehydrated. If you want to sit in one of the chairs on the beach is going to cost you money. If you want something to drink that’s gonna cost you money. The didn’t charge for the WC. There are hawkers everywhere you turn, but that is typical.
The cruise home was quiet with some fruit and a shot glass of dessert wine.
If you have the right expectations, you’ll be fine. Just bring lots of water.

Leon was an amazing guide. From Hanoi to Ha Long Bay and back. He was very knowledgeable and apparently lives his job because he was full of jokes and laughs. I will definitely travel with him as a guide again. Thank you for a wonderful day to Ha Long Bay.

The trip organisation was poor no contact to say when being picked up until the morning of departure. The guides information on the trip was poor no history given or relevant information. Stop on route and return were a wasted time a pearl factory! Headed like cattle all day. Lunch was poor very small. The bus was very noisy as both English and Vietnamese being translated. Kayak was well oversubscribed people bashing into you as so many kayaks leaving at same time in small area.

We had a great day even though it rained in patches through the day we still got to go kayaking, swimming and do all the activities. The guides were great - informative and fun. Ha long Bay is so beautiful we highly recommend this tour

Great value for the price. The tour and itinerary were as described. Our tour guide, Luon, made sure the day went smoothly and ensured that everyone had a good time. The bus and boat were no frills, but were comfortable, clean and in good condition. Your group will be traveling alongside hordes of other tourists at each attraction, but that seems to be unavoidable on busy days. The lunch is served family style and was decent. All in, this is a great option for a standard 1 day Hanoi to Halong Bay tour.

The tour of Ha Long Bay was wonderful. The views were amazing and the service of the staff were excellent. This was made even better by our exceptional guide, Luan, who was extremely friendly and informative. Not only did he show us around the different islands, he also stopped by multiple times to chat with us about our experience in Vietnam so far as well as gave us recommendations on where else to go and what else to eat! This cruise is a must go for anyone visiting Vietnam!

Luan was a great tour guide. He was calm and patient with the travellers and made a lively and joyful atmosphere throughout the trip. It was an amazing trip to Ha Long Bay. We started with the cave, followed by Kayaking and ended with a trip to TipTop island. The sunset was beautiful on the way back.

It was an average tour. Halong bay is beautiful but very crowded. The food was just ok. We opted for the boat ride instead of kayaking. The boat ride hardly lasted for 10mins which i thought was too little. The caves are a must see. Our guide Tung was a funny guy. Was quite informative. Attempted the climb at the titop island. Surely not for the faint hearted. Super crowded at best spots for the best pics. Be prepared for mass tourism at its best.

Halong Bay is magistic looking from the highway but the hassle of so many tourist, including me ruins it. Too much people!! Too much tourist boats. You cant focus on the nature. But I don’t blame people from coming. Still it is a must see but I will never come again. The minute I saw all those people, I lost interest. :( but again, I can’t blame people from coming. I came, too!!!

Hi planning to book the trip for 22nd December. wanted know about the difference between transfer by road and transfer by highway to Halong Bay. Will both the pickups be from hanoi? Also is a private pick up possible since we are a group of 4. thanks.

I would like to clarify your confusions as below:
- It will take 02-2,5 hour to transfer from Hanoi to Halong Bay while you have spend 3,5 -4 hours on car by road.
- Travelling by highway, you will start around 08:30 - 09:00 am at your hotel,and finsih 20:45 pm.
- Travelling by road,you have to start at 07: 00 - 07:30, and finish around 21:20 PM-21:40 PM It is too long to seat in shuttle bus.
- For vegetarian meal, we could serve you as you wish on boat for sure

If we choose the option to take the highway both ways, the pick up time is 8:15AM. What time will we arrive at Halong Bay? Also, what time will we reach Hanoi on the way back (assuming we leave Halong Bay at 17:45)?
