Overview
Masada, the Dead Sea, and Ein Gedi are situated close to each other, but visiting them in a day from Jerusalem is difficult without a rental car. This day trip makes it easy and gives you free time at each to explore independently. Visit Masada’s ruins, enjoy Ein Gedi, and float in the Dead Sea. Transport and Dead Sea beach admission included, with everything else at own expense.

Highlights
  • Visit Masada, Ein Gedi, and the Dead Sea in a day from Jerusalem
  • Self-guide at Masada and Ein Gedi, with entry and other fees at own expense
  • Free time at the Dead Sea to enjoy the salt waters and mineral mud
  • Includes return minibus transport, Dead Sea entry, and self-guiding app
What to Expect
Start with early pickup in central Jerusalem and travel eastward by air-conditioned minibus toward Masada. Admire wonderful views across the Dead Sea—the lowest place on Earth—to Jordan’s mountains en route, and capture them on camera. At Masada, hop out to explore the plateau independently. Enter the site (own expense) and ride the cable car (own expense) to the summit to stroll around the ruins—the remains of a Herodian fortress and site of an AD 74 Jewish rebellion. Continue to Ein Gedi, a nature reserve situated near the Dead Sea. Head inside (own expense), explore the trails, gardens, springs, and pools alone, and, if you wish, refuel at the café (own expense). Finally, visit a Dead Sea beach to float in the salty waters, bathe in the mineral-rich mud, or simply enjoy the sunshine and views. Your trip then ends with a Jerusalem drop-off.

Tours through Abraham tours are highly recommended. The organization of tours, the drivers & the guides are extremely professional. I went to places which would have not been possible if I'd gone on my own. In my opinion, the tours were rushed though. Having said that - and

Well run trip. We particularly enjoyed Masada. Driver was excellent and did give us some commentary. I downloaded the app the day before and that was very useful.

A full day where we got to see a lot. Perfect timing in each place. Only thing that bothered us was that the bus is small and not fit for very tall people. Nice driver!

I didn't really know that much about Masada until it became a part of the trip my wife and I took with 206 Tours and our Church. As we first approached the area by bus, this looming mountain began to encompass our total view. To get to the mountain top, we rode in a tram,
