This tour gives you real sense of historical context. The Byblos ruins are very interesting, especially with a good guide. The market (Souk) in Byblos however is totally unremarkable.

The Jeita grotto is totally mind boggling/blowing! I found myself almost in tears over the beauty and magnificence. Truly unforgettable.

Highly recommended.

The grotto was amazing and Biblos fascinating. We were fed and watered in true lebanese style and looked after marvelously by our tour guide Walid. In fact we liked Walid so much that we re-arranged our subsequent Baalbeck tour to be with him again! Lovely tour companions too from all over the Middle East and Australia!

We happened to be in Beirut during the storm, which is very unusual for Lebanon. Nevertheless the Nakhal bus came on time and Georgette took us to every place according to the plan. She made it very interesting, even in a storm and a horrible weather. we enjoyed it very much and i think it was one of our best trips.

Places are amazing to see. However, English pronounciation of the tour guide was very poor, the sound system in tbe vehicle was also very bad. It was hard to hear and understand the information conveyed. Plus, all tour was very information-dense. It should be more interaction-based.

The day didn't start very well, the bus broke down, when we changed buses 4 people went missing... that meant that we were behind in time. We just had 30 minutes to see the cave so we had to run through it, no time at all to enjoy it. The group was nearly 50 people, so the transitions to one place to the other were very very slow, plus the guide had to translate everything from English to French, so made the visit quite tedious (I believe that having 50 persons in a trip, they should put more than one guide so there is no need to do everything in 2 languages). I wouldn't recommend this tour to anyone, sadly.

A taxi collected us from our hotel and took us to the Nakhal office, from where the bus left for Byblos. We were escorted round the Roman ruins and castle, but were then told that we only had 30 minutes' free time before the bus departed for our next destination. This was a shame, as many of us would have appreciated more time to perhaps walk down to the harbour, or appreciate the surroundings - not to mention have a coffee and/or comfort break. We were then told that, rather than going to Harissa next, we'd be going to the grotto owing to heavy traffic/high number of visitors. This wasn't a problem in itself - but again, we felt that we were rather herded quickly through the grotto, with (again) insufficient time for refreshment/comfort breaks. (The guide virtually admitted in the course of the tour, that she was free to set the itinerary of the tour, rather than Nakhal themselves). By the time we got to Harissa it was well past 1pm, and several people mentioned that they were feeling hungry. Harissa was busy (again, little opportunity for a drink or to use the toilet), and by the time the whole party had disembarked from the cable car, it was 2.30pm and most people were hungry. As it happened, our meal at a nearby restaurant was excellent, but we did not start eating until 3pm, and I’m not sure if it was worth the wait. Rather than having to wait for a full-blown meal at the end, I’m sure most people would have been happier spending more time at each of the sites (with suitable provision for refreshment & comfort breaks), and having a shorter snack lunch, rather than being rushed round with insufficient opportunities for said breaks, just for the sake of a (very nice, admittedly) long lunch at the end. As it was, I was left with the impression that the tour was conducted with unnecessary haste, for the convenience of the guide rather than the members of her group.

The places in the itinerary were definitely worth a visit, but our guide was an absolute disaster - barely spoken a few words in English, clueless as to the tour program and its timing; several time we had to wait on her as she just disappeared on us with no means of contacting her which caused several delays. I would highly recommend this tour but with a DIFFERENT tour agency!

Booked this day trip after getting to Beirut in a quest to get a better appreciation for the historical importance of the area. Everything was on schedule, with a highly qualified tour guide giving us insight to Lebanon - from the birth of civilization until today - my most interesting day in Lebanon by far ! It is a full day - the Grotto and Harissa legs are interesting by the highlight by far is Byblos - probably the Oldest continuously inhabited city in the world. An archeological site beautifully laid out in the 1920 to showcase 6000 years of civilizations ! Phoenicians, Greek, Roman, Crusaders, and Ottoman - a must for anybody with an interest in history. Thanks for an outstanding tour !

For the first time I try a trip with a tourist group.

Everything was perfect from A to Z, the driver who came to pick us up from the hotel was on time and pilot and the car was sooo clean.

Secondly, the group leader - Rita - was very welcoming and friendly. She is a book which is rich in information. She talked about history, topography, religion and every single aspect related to Lebonan. And when she doesn’t know an information she would apologise and try to help you to find it. You can ask her also about how to spend your vacations and Lebonan and refer you to best souvenirs shops.

Some people would say the trip is expensive and would prefer to hire a private driver which cost them 100 dollars, however, including the lunch, admission tickets to multiple places, plus the friendly atmosphere, and the sweet and information-rich guidance from Rita - and I believe other guides will be the same -, I would highly recommend this trip.
