What to expect
Aside from stunning mountain scenery on this tour, you will also be able to see ruins of the Inca empire, where llama caravans stopped to rest after a long travel for the Inca Trail. You will also get to observe the ruins of an intricate route of the Transandino railway winding between tunnels and through steep cliffs. You will go up the road curve called el Caracol, a road which few people have seen before, at an altitude of almost 8800 feet (2680 m), where you find the Hotel Portillo and ski resort. This historical hotel has received several visits by important political figures around the world, world champions, artists and others. With over 100 years of operation, it is the oldest winter resort in South America. To make this tour unforgettable, you will also visit the San Esteban vineyard, one of most traditional vineyards in the Aconcagua Valley. This vineyard shares the international success it has achieved through the Chilean wine industry. The San Esteban vineyard offers tours of its facilities with wine experts who will tell about the advantages and strong sides of their wines and tell us the history of the vineyard as you go through its different locations. Enjoy a splendid day in the Andes including a magnificent vineyard and ski resort.

Late Picking Me Up, Ugly Destination, Lousy Food
Mar 2020
I was supposed to be the Portillo Inca Lagoon Tour. But they cancelled that at last minute. Don't know the name of the tour I was on. 2.5 hours late picking me up, terrible destination- very ugly, not enough interesting information from guide, terrible snacks (not local cuisine),

A Good Tour
Feb 2020
It was a great full day tour. I didn't expect it to be a private tour, so we were pleasantly surprised. Leonardo was right on time to pick us up at our hotel, and took us first to a winery in San Esteban. The drive was beautiful, and the wine tasting was good also. We bought a couple bottles of wine at a fantastic price. The drive up to the Portillo Inca Lagoon was very twisty, but our driver did a great job. Lunch was excellent at the hotel there, and the views were beautiful. Leonardo also had wifi in his car that was a big plus since I had my phone stolen the previous day and had a lot of things to take care of. On our return to the hotel, we got a call that we needed to be at an appointment within half an hour. Leonardo waited for us outside our hotel while we changed and then drove us over. He was a great guide who spoke English well. I would definitely recommend this tour!

Inca Lagoon and wine tasting in Aconcagua Valley
We had a wonderful trip up into the Andes. Our guide, Francesca, and driver , Jorge, did an excellent job today! We saw Mt. Aconcagua from the highway on our way to the Paidahuen Archaeological Park (petroglyphs)and the San Estefan winery. The wine tasting informative and the empanadas, warm from a local bakery, excellent. We then drove up a road with 30 curves to reach the original ski resort in South America and the Inca Lagoon! The deep turquoise water was gorgeous! Great excursion.

We had a great time on this day trip to the Andes and winery. Michael and Rodrigo were wonderful guides.

We loved the Empanadas, and seeing the petroglyphs was very cool.

Excellent tour!
Had a great day with tour guide, Angelika. There was only ourselves and one other couple on the tour. We loved the drive through the mountains and there was plenty of opportunity to ask questions about the local countryside, Chilean history and culture. We saw some very old Incan petroglyphs and enjoyed a wonderful picnic lunch of locally made Empanadas washed down with some local wine. For me, this was the best part of the tour. We all chatted together over food and wine and it was wonderful! After lunch we drove to the Portillo ski resort and saw the beautiful Emerald Lake. A really great day out!

Great trip
Overall a great tour. The archeological site was a little disappointing; the hieroglyphs were fairly small and often difficult to locate. We have visited better. Would have loved to get a picture (via postcard or ?) showing all 30 switchbacks going down from Portillo ski resort.

A great day trip to the mountains
This was a great day trip out of Santiago. Our guide Alexis was great along with driver Hector. The walk among the petroglyphs, home made empanadas and 3 glasses of wine were all wonderful, topped off by a trip up the mountain to see Portillo. So nice to see what is at Santiago’s doorstep!

Amazing tour guide
Jan 2020 • Couples
Its so rare to have a guide that shines all day long on full day tours like this. Francesca's energy, accuracy, language skills, attention to details, and gauge of each of the 13 guest's needs was nothing less than amazing.
I would actually take this tour again. Our driver also exercised very good judgement thoroughout the day with all the complex driving decisions that arose.
