I had the experience of a lifetime. CrossOver was super responsive and very easy to work with. They allowed me to completely customize my trip, which consisted of a day hike to Humantay Lake from Cusco, followed by 2 days at Machu Pichu, including 2 tours of Machu Picchu and 1 of Wayna Picchu. Kevin, the guide, has an incredible amount of knowledge of the area and went out of his way to make my experience one to remember. I told CrossOver what I wanted to do / see, and Kevin dialed everything in perfectly, and even added a few things to the itinerary that you would never even know to ask for (like the botanical garden / waterfall hike just outside Aguas Caliente). He really went above and beyond to make the trip truly incredible. Ask for Kevin and if you are lucky enough to get him, I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

We are a couple celebrating our 29th anniversarry in Peru. Kevin was well spoken and was awesome to work with starting with the pre trip communications. We got in late to Cusco before our early morning MP/HP trip but kevin made sure of the pickup time and what we need to bring on a phone call. Kevin made sure that our requests we’re accomodated from staying on Machu until the last minute to hike up Huayna because of the fog in the morning. We loved to take lots of pictures. Kevin made sure he took them all and more. Kevin also was also very accomodating of our hiking pace and tons of breaks. Kevin is the best!

Kevin was our guide for the day and he was full of knowledge and was happy to answer all or questions prior to the tour day. When we arrived he was there to meet us and made sure the trip ran smoothly. Once at Machu Picchu Kevin gave us a guided tour showing and telling us about the main points and about the history of the area. He took lots of photos of us and was happy to stop when we wanted. Overall he was a great guide nothing was too much trouble, he was knowledgable and patient when needed. Great trip!

Great day trip from Cusco.
It’s a really early morning, but you need 2 hours for the car, plus 2 hours for the train. Arriving to Machu Picchu early before the huge crowds made the 3:30am wakeup worth it. Our guide, Kevin, was patient, informative, and a great photographer.
Adding the hike up Huayna was a highlight. It’s challenging and steep, but the views are incredible.
We opted to skip the bus and walk back down to Aguas Calientes.

This company was very organized and all the traveling details were pre-planned to include a briefing at our AirBnB the night before. Juan Carlos is a terrific guide. He is very knowledgeable and thoughtful. He took us through Machu Picchu and then guided us up Huayna Picchu. A few people in our group were slower than the rest but he was encouraging and never left anyone behind! (What a hike!!!!) This day was well worth the $.

Incredible experience!!!
Our family of 2 out-of-shape parents and 2 teenage kids went to Peru for Spring Break. We booked a 2-day tour of the Sacred Valley, Pisac, Ollyantaytambo, Machu Picchu, and Huayna Picchu.
Kevin met us the night before at our hotel, exactly on time. He carefully walked us through all the events of the trip - their timing, the tickets (he’d already purchased all of it), the items we’d need (passports & a backpack with a change of clothes, some snacks, camera, drinks). We met the following morning & had a HUGE minivan and driver just for our family!! We took a wonderful drive to Pisac, stopping at a llama, alpaca, and vicuña preserve, some beautiful photo stops, and then Pisac. The whole time we got a comprehensive overview of the region & it’s history. We climbed Pisac and took a bunch of photos. Kevin was super engaging with our teenagers, which was so nice!
We further had lunch in Pisac and walked through their incredible market (hint!! Get your souvenirs here!). We continued on to Ollyantaytambo and our kids climbed those ruins with Kevin while we chilled down below. He was so darn flexible about what we did and where we went, it was amazing!
We took the train to Machu Picchu - note, you can upgrade to the VistaDome train. Your guide would take a separate train if you do this, which scared us, but he informed us we’d be met on the other end by a representative, and sure enough a young lady had a sign with our names at the other end. It’s a tiny train station, you cannot get lost! The entry/exit points are about 10 feet wide and the waiting rooms for the trains only hold about 15-30 people! The city is in the jungle, the train takes about 90 minutes to get there & runs along a river all the way there. You’ll get a little snack & drink on the train & a small cultural presentation that was a lot of fun (not going to ruin it but it’ll make you laugh!)
The hotel in Machu Picchu initially worried us as the city is clearly not well off and I’m used to the Ritz, but it was clean, very quiet, and very safe! There are no cars in Machu Picchu Pueblo, there’s a river that runs through town just outside the train station and maybe 3 streets about 1/4 mile long each. Most hotels are on the same street, right on the river, and another parallel street behind the hotels is where all the restaurants are. It is on a long slope, think of a San Francisco street but in the middle of the jungle. We wandered around for the evening, had our dinner, and felt quite safe.
The next morning Kevin met us at 7am and we lined up for the buses up the mountain. We were in Machu Picchu by about 8:30am. We walked around the site with Kevin for some time before we headed to the check in for Huayna Picchu. Sole important thoughts here - firstly, I had in my mind we’d climb Huayna Picchu first but Kevin had booked our tickets to do Machu Picchu first. LISTEN TO HIM AND DO MACHU PICCHU FIRST!!! Yes there was fog at Machu Picchu initially, but we were patient and just as Kevin predicted, all the fog lifted while we were there and we got amazing pictures. We took a fog one just for fun and one about 7 minutes later that you’ll see below - that’s how quickly the weather changes!
Climbing Huayna Picchu in the second group is smart because you are passing people as they’re coming down the mountain and once they clear you have the whole mountain to yourselves. It was incredible!! It isn’t for the faint hearted - my husband had to quit about 30% of the way up the mountain, and I had to take breaks all the time, but Kevin was so amazingly encouraging and patient we couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Tip: take 2L of water per person. We ran out of water coming down and were parched at the end!
A few thoughts about the climb - when you begin the trek you actually have to climb DOWN first. You must get from Machu Picchu to the next mountain over, so you go down into the valley to cross over to the other mountain. Just remember when you’re aching and tired at the end of your trek, you have to climb back up out of the valley to leave....it’s a bit of torture :)
When you near the summit you’ll arrive at some terraces. Stop here & just enjoy for 10 minutes, because next you climb the “stairs of death” - steep, small depth stairs to get to the elevation check point. These stairs are no joke in how scary they are if you actually stop & turn and look while you’re on the stairs...essentially you can drop right into the valley from them in you slip. My 13 year-old daughter had a bit of a panic attack here, but Kevin stayed right with her and soothes her and encouraged her up those steps!! So, after this you’ll hit the elevation check point where you can sit & chill a while. Take some photos, etc.
Climb up further to the very summit where there’s only room for 3-4 people to take a photo on a rock with Machu Picchu behind you, and then you start your descent.
Here’s where our hero guide again cane to the rescue - there’s a cave you have to maneuver coming down the mountain. It is VERY tight & for a claustrophobic person, I found it terrifying. Kevin coached me through it, and even scrambled down into the cave with me to stop me from hitting my head as I panicked & tried to stand up!
After you’re out of the cave, you’re pretty much following the same path down as you took up, so not much more to say here other than Kevin is so conscientious about your safety that he warned us and even jumped ahead of the kids in steep sections to point to the rocks they needed to walk on for the most stable descent.
Now folks, this is a huge mountain for our family, we’ve never experienced ANYTHING like this before. We felt in such capable hands. It took us 3 hours and 7 minutes from start to finish. Kevin has made a round trip of the entire mountain in under 40 minutes, so we could only imagine how he must have felt with slow people in tow, but he was positive the entire time!!
On the return from the region, Kevin’s train was about an hour ahead of ours because we again chose the VistaDome train, so we did a little shopping & picked up our backpacks we’d stored at the hotel while we climbed. He met us back in Ollantaytambo and back we went to Cusco!
This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience for us. We were nervous storing bags in Cusco (when we left for Machu Picchu), and Machu Picchu while we climbed, but Kevin and our driver made it all so darn easy, safe, and enjoyable!
Kevin even made sure to get Machu Picchu stamps in our passports, which we’d have never thought to do. He made sure we kept change for the bathrooms, and that we had emergency electrolytes in case of dehydration. He really thinks of everything!
Couldn’t be happier with our experience, our children have memories that they’ll cherish their whole lives because of Kevin!

I took this tour with Crossover Peru Tours about 7 months ago and I am still talking about this tour with family and friends. From the moment we met our guide I was impressed by the level of organization and customer service that we received. We were met at our hotel the night before our tour so that they could explain everything we could expect the next day. This made the whole day of travel go very smoothly. Not only did we know what to expect, but there was someone there to guide us the whole way (from our driver all the way to our tour guide).
As far as the tour goes, I could not recommend this tour enough. Not only were we guided thru the Machu Picchu site by someone who knew the area and its history intimately, but our guide was very passionate about what he does. I would absolutely recommend the hike up to Huayna Picchu as the views from the top are spectacular. Definitely a must-do if you are able to fit it in.
As for how difficult the Huayna Picchu hike is, I would rate it as a moderately difficult hike. It isn't a very long distance, but the trail does get pretty steep in places and the climb can be a little challenging if you aren't dealing with the altitude well. It isn't overly technical (though you will be using three points of contact in some of the steeper spots), the biggest challenge is the altitude and the elevation gain. If you are in decent shape you should be fine to do this hike. If you aren't in the best of shape, you will just need to take it a little slower. Our guide was great at providing encouragement and patient enough to wait for some of the slower members of our group.
Great tour, great guide, absolutely amazing experience!

We were picked up by Juan Carlos and a driver at 3am from Cusco. Juan Carlos had come by our AirBnB the night before to drop off all our tickets and talk us through the whole process, which helped put any of my worries at ease.
We were on the earlier train to hike Huaynapicchu first, which was really great. The transportation went smoothly, and the hike was amazing. Juan Carlos was patient and encouraging, and took some nice pictures of us.
My only complaint would be that the description claimed we would be transported back to our AirBnB, and we didn't fully get that. We were dropped off at the bus station and had to pay for our own cab ride back to our AirBnB.

Our guide Kevin came to where we were staying the night before to explain everything for the next day and give us our tickets (train, bus, entry tickets) so we were well prepared. Our driver arrived the next day at 3:45 am and our adventure began! After arriving at the train station, we departed for our 1 1/2 hr train ride, then Kevin met us at the disembarkation point and we all boarded the bus together. 30 minutes later we arrived at the entry gate to Machu Picchu and it was breathtaking! We spent the next couple of hours exploring the site and hearing so much wonderful information from Kevin - it made it mean so much more to hear and understand from all his knowledge of the people, the history - it was impressive. We then spent the next couple of hours hiking to Huayana Picchu. Kevin was so encouraging! The sites were spectacular and we never felt rushed. We took our time and enjoyed every minute. We finally arrived back at our hotel around 9:30pm so it was an exhausting day but a memorable one. I highly recommend this tour and our guide. We will never forget our wonderful day spent exploring this incredible place! Thank You CrossoverPeru Tours and Kevin!

Juan Carlos was our guide. Very organized, all entrance and transportation was taken care of ahead of time. This left us with worry free tour and very informative adventure. The trek to the Huyana Picchu is no joke. It's a workout so be prepared but it's definetly worth the hike! Juan Carlos was an excellent guide, we could go at our own pace with everything without feeling rushed. Highly recommended and worth the money!

Seems like most tours are just out of Cusco and back with no stay overs in Agua Caliente
What do you recomend

we can create a tour 02 days 01 night with overnight in Aguas Calientes Sacred Valley Tour + MachuPicchu/HuaynaPicchu even if this is so limited
When does the tour finish and come back to Cusco? Is July 24 available?

Hi!
The tour begins at 04:00 in the morning when they pick you up from the hotel and around 18:00 you are back in Cuzco.
For availability you have to approach the agency directly.
Thanks!

Hi! Not sure if there is a restriction for children but surely you can check with the travel agency. Worth the experience for sure!!!

Hola.
