Modern World Longest Siege - Siege of Sarajevo Half-day Tour

Select Date and Travellers
2 travellers
Modern World longest siege - Siege of Sarajevo, is a tour designed to properly explain how Sarajevo defended, lived and survived more than 1400 days of siege, siege even longer than WWII Siege of Leningrad. We invite you to join us and get first hand experience on experiences, stories, facts, and reasons behind the story of death of Yugoslavia and why Bosnia and Herzegovina and Sarajevo took a central and the most unfortunate role.
  • Learn about the Sarajevo Siege from a guide who lived through it
  • Travel comfortably by air-conditioned minivan
  • See the exhibits at the War Tunnel Museum
  • Take in views of the city from Trebevic Mountain
What to Expect
Meet your Sarajevo Siege survivor guide in Old Town, or arrange for hotel pickup. Begin your small-group tour by heading to the War Tunnel Museum. During the drive, learn about the history of the breakup of Yugoslavia from your guide. While traveling, observe the Markale Massacre sites, the Bosnian Presidency building, Sniper Alley, Marshall Tito Barracks, the Bosnian Parliament, and other sights that relate to the Sarajevo Siege. Arrive at the tunnel and learn about its history. Explore the museum exhibition, and then learn about post-war and post-siege Sarajevo. Hear stories about the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympic Games. Take in views from the top of Trebevic Mountain and understand how it related to the siege. Stop by the Jewish Cemetery and go to Yellow Bastion, a beautiful viewpoint above the city. The tour ends in central Sarajevo.
