Highlights
    What to Expect
Depart from a central meeting point in Antigua around 9:00am. You’ll head up toward the town of Santa Maria de Jesus, located at the base of ‘Volcan de Agua’ volcano at 6,790 feet (2,070 meters).

Spend some time wandering this laid-back hamlet, including a stop at its miniscule local market and a trip through the town square. You’ll continue the trip by returning back down to Antigua, crossing through the city center and back up into the hills toward the small village of El Hato.

Upon arriving in El Hato, take a short stroll up the path to Earth Lodge, a local eco-resort where you can kick back in a hammock or grab a snack as you enjoy views of the valley down below and multiple volcanoes off in the distance.

As you descend back down make one last stop at ‘Cerro de la Cruz,’ offering a scenic overlook with Antigua down below. You’ll return back to your starting point at the end of the trip.

I am 66 years old and have never been on an ATV before. I chose to ride as passenger with Diego our guide and it was great fun. We visited a wine maker and chocolatier as well as a mountain village marketplace and had an excellent lunch with a world class view of the valley.

A group of 10 took what I would call a modified Cultural Adventure about 5 1/2 hours. First stop was at a village high above Antigua. We took in the market and visited a church decorated inside and out with fresh flowers. Next was a stop at a local chocolate factory. Then on

I was upgraded to the Mountain tour so my review is based on that. Really fun activity, you get to visit different villages, see Antigua from different viewpoints, and learn a little bit of the culture from the guide. Definitely recommend!
