I did this street food tour with my friend on February 10th, and we both agreed that this was one of our favorite things we've done in Antigua!! The tour guide Joachin was friendly and funny, and our translator Ally was fun to talk to and amazing at translating. We felt like we were hanging out with friends. We liked how it was a private tour because the tour felt more intimate and personalized to us. We highly recommend this tour because:
1) the food was amazing! We got to try dishes that we would never have found by ourselves around Guatemala. We particularly liked the shucos, which are Guatemalan style hot dogs, and the hot chocolate, which has spices and tastes more flavorful than the ones back in the states. We went to popular street food places that only locals know, so it was a very unique experience. Joachin told us that he spent quite some time finding the best food stands outside of Antigua that locals also acknowledge as great food. We really appreciated the time he took to create this street food tour.
2) We felt very safe with our guides. Even though we went outside of Antigua, our guide drove us to all the food stand areas and we didn't sense any danger whatsoever being in different cities. Some neighborhoods felt safer than Antigua.
3) The guides were very knowledgeable. We learned so much about how certain foods were made, the history behind certain cities and buildings, the differences between the different Latin American cuisines and cultures. It was really fun to talk with them!
If you are looking for something fun and unique to do in Antigua, we highly recommend this tour!!

We had a great time with no fear of getting sick because all food was well cooked and the tour guide selects for vendors with high standards of cleanliness. Milton was very knowledgeable and friendly. The food was delicious! Recommend this experience.

Really enjoyed the street Food Tour experience. Milton took us to street food vendors that I never would have had the courage to try without him. We really enjoyed the different options and what late-night Antigua had to offer. This was also a great tour for our first night in Antigua because we received a wonderful history lesson throughout the night.

I would like to take the time to warn people of this business. I booked the private Evening Street Food Tour for 2 pp on 05/16/2021 for April 2022 via their website, which uses the third party platform, We Travel.
I decided to cancel on 01/01/2022 since I can no longer travel. To date (02/02/22), I have not heard from them. I have even tried using We Travel to mediate the issue, and to no avail. We Travel said that they cannot do anything and that I need to contact my credit card. As we all know, credit cards have limitations on how long you can dispute a transaction.
My booking is currently listed as a past trip with a trip date of 01/01/2021.
How is this possible with a booking date of 05/16/2021?
What scums!

This was my first activity in Antigua after flying all day and I am so glad I arrived hungry. It was so much delicious food. As a solo travelers I felt safe and was happy I had knowledgeable guides to take me to parts of Guatemala I would not have traveled in my own. I have a gluten sensitivity and they tailored the tour for me since I was solo (plenty of corn tortilla options). Also as someone who is paranoid about food Bourne illnesses I was totally fine.

Excellent experience! Titi, our guide, was very knowledgeable and fun. He took us to three towns outside of Antigua to sample the best street food in the area. We appreciated the insights he shared and his love for dogs! Our personal favorites were the shucos. We were even provided with alcohol and cute shot glass as a souvenir. I wish the tour was longer and my stomach was larger because I truly enjoyed the trip.

Highly recommend this street food evening tour! We enjoyed food and towns, we would not have done on our own. It was insightful, interesting and the hosts were great. It was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. *Please note that this tour was done during Covid19 and guides were well prepared and took the right precautions. Masks were only off when eating food.

We thoroughly enjoyed our street food tour with our two great guides Joaquin and Ali. We stopped at 4 destinations, all a short car ride out of Antigua.
J&A were amazing at explaining the history behind the food as well as the ingredients. There was no limit to the amount of things you could try which was fabulous.... if we saw something interesting, they’d get it for us. As other people have mentioned, the Shuckos were a real highlight for us as well as the Churros. We also got to try a lot of different drinks and tamarind rum which was amazing.
All in all a really great, personal experience that felt like going out and eating with some friends (eating a lot!!) and they even bought the beer with them!
Definitely value for money and a fabulous evening!

We had the best time with Pampa experiencing true local food stops in two amazing cities. We cannot tell you which was our favorite because they were all excellent. If you have not done street food tour in Antigua you must plan one on your next visit. We enjoyed visiting with Pampa who was knowledgeable on the culture and cuisine.
