You can stroll down the Stradun and walk the wall of Dubrovnik but it’s much more meaningful if you know what you’re looking at. Which is why this informative and fun walking tour is a must for any visitor to the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic.’ Learn what makes this UNESCO World Heritage site so amazing and special. Learn about the architecture — Gothic, Renaissance and baroque — and the history behind the palaces, fountains, monasteries and churches. Walk the high walls and get a different perspective of the city.
What to Expect
Learn what makes Dubrovnik so special by booking this informative walking tour. Meet your guide just outside Pile Gate. Lead by a knowledgeable local guide, the tour takes in the limestone-paved streets of the city’s Stari Grad (Old Town), and uncovers the real story behind the city’s churches, monasteries and palaces. Walk the 1.2-mile (2-km) walls (entrance fee not included), which were first built in the 12th century, and get a different viewpoint of the city, as the shimmering Adriatic Sea dazzles you from a distance.

As you stroll, get an insider’s view of the history of Dubrovnik, from the 11th century when a sea channel, in what is now Stari Grad, was filled in. Learn also about the landmarks Fort Revelin and Minceta Tower. In the distance, you’ll see Fort Lovrijenac, the only fort that belongs to the city walls but is physically separated from them.

Listen to your guide regale stories from the city’s long and rich history, about how it was an autonomous republic buttressing both the Ottoman and the Venetian Empires. Your tour then finishes near the port.

*Entrance fee to City Walls not included in price.

Walls & Wars

It was worthy to go with a guide. There’s just so many people it dampens the experience but that’s not the companies fault. If you go alone get yourself an audio guide on your phone. Our guide was a bit young and lacked the skills...More

About 2 hours - guides are very good and informative so there is the possibility of Them over running on time a little. As Nike say “just do it “ - you won’t regret it
