9 March 2023 6.20am in the morning, John picked us at Kinta Riverside Hotel. We bit the morning traffic and arrived Lenggong Valley at around 7.30am for a coffee shop breakfast. We were then proceed to our UNESCO Archaeological Heritage tour. The heritage tour guide could not speak much other languages except Malay. John assisted in translation and provided additional insight and helped our senior folks to complete the adventure. We were told tha our 73 year old participant was the oldest that the tour had ever received! John took us to Kuala Kangsar for lunch and visited the royal town of Perak before heading back to hotel. We thanked John for his friendliness, patience and professionalism.

We had a great time in the 1-day private tour led by John, our tour guide, visiting Ipoh old town, beautiful limestone caves, and the ionic Kellie's Castle. John was friendly and helpful throughout, sharing his knowledge on the history and culture of the various attractions and helping us take many photos throughout the day. Overall, it was an awesome experience and we highly recommend John as your tour guide for your next trip to Ipoh!

We booked a last minute four days tour package with Ipoh Secrets because we were travelling with young children that required customised itinerary. This turned out to be the best decision for our family trip! John, our assigned tour guide, was extremely knowledgeable, thoughtful and accommodating. Words cannot express our appreciation and satisfaction and I would highly recommend John and Ipoh Secrets to anyone who’s keen to explore Ipoh and Perak area.

Ipoh Secrets were fantastic on our recent visit to Ipoh when we decided to book a last minute trip to the Cameron Highlands. We were told that due to our last minute booking we would just have a driver and not a guide, but it ended up that John, our driver, was a fantastic tour guide! He was really professional and knowledgeable, we really enjoyed his insights as an Ipoh local and he was also easy to get along with. He knew all the best photo spots and even gave us a list of coffee places to try! It was also very reasonable price-wise and flexible with what we wanted to do. We would definitely use Ipoh Secrets again!

John was a very friendly, knowledgeable guy, relaxed and accommodating of our requests to adjust our itinerary. Hw also advised about local food. Our vehicle was spacious, comfortable and cool. John’s driving was very smooth and we felt safe. We had a great afternoon exploring the cave temples and Kellie’s castle on our first afternoon in Ipoh. I would strongly recommend this tour company

The tour is a slow paced, informative and enjoyable tour, full of walks to various famous sights of Ipoh City. Through the tour, the guide John gave us inside information of the city, through the years and with his experience as a local. Using his car to ferry us in between sites, he also gave us tips and tricks of how locals move and operate in the city. The group is small enough for John to individually answer questions should any arise. Recommended for those who love walking, interacting with non locals in a small group setting, and wanting to know the little secrets this city has to offer through a local!

We were so glad we managed to book 2 tours with Ipoh Secrets quite close to our trip. John our guide/driver was very good. Took us to great eating and coffee places both in Ipoh and in Taiping. Had a couple of interesting tours, the charcoal and josstick factories. John was good in explaining the process to us. The itineraries were left to John to decide and we were very happy with his planning.

We spent a full day visiting many interesting places around Ipoh with John. He was very informative & accommodating. The tour has everything: Culture, History, Architecture, Food ... Besides the usual tourists spots, John brought us to a local coffee shop for lunch & a 'roadside store' for the best bean curd we have ever tasted! Very Good-Value-for Money!

Day well spent to know Ipoh better. My family and I greatly enjoyed the well-planned, well-researched, and well-paced itinerary. John is an outstanding guide - thoughtful, knowledgeable and a great communicator. Kudos to the team!

I didn't realise how many fabulous things there were to see around Ipoh until we went on this tour. It is a really efficient way to see a lot of different places. Our guide John was very knowledgeable and happy to spend as much time in each location as the group wanted. We packed a lot into this day and learned so much about Ipoh and Malaysian culture. I thought it was very good value for money and John was an excellent and very accommodating guide. I would highly recommend Ipoh Secrets Full Day Heritage Tour.

Driver syam is nice to drive to Cameron highland from Ipoh. Very safe and have good manner. Ipoh secret have good quality of staff.

We spent a great day with Simon exploring Ipoh and the surrounding areas. Simon was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the history of this area. He was attentive and sensitive to both our time needs (we did this as a day trip from KL), and our dietary needs (we aren’t super adventurous with street food). We learned all about white coffee and some other local dishes. He was great about taking pictures of us throughout the day. Because this was a private tour, we could customize our itinerary, and Simon was very flexible. He’s also a super nice guy to spend time with.

I highly recommend this full day tour which is very interesting and good value. It is jam-packed full of numerous things to see and do in and around Ipoh. Despite the long list of places we visited in this tour, you never felt rushed; John, our guide, was happy to stay at each place as long as we liked. It was also nice to get out of Ipoh and see some of the spectacular scenery. The temple caves were magnificent & Kelly’s castle remarkable. John was informative and kind, and happy to vary aspects of the tour depending on our interests. In fact he was so kind and generous with his time, the tour ran well over. This was a small group tour but we felt like it was a private tour. The car was comfortable - looked brand new in fact; complete luxury. John also introduced us to different food and drinks and took us to out-of-the-way spots to get the best biscuits and white Ipoh coffee. We even tried some coconut wine with our lunch in another off-the beaten-track local restaurant. Can’t recommend this tour enough! Thank you John!
