    Underwhelming
Visited with friends (2 adults with their 9 year old son) . Not sure how it’s possible to spend more than 30 minutes here. Staff are pushy and insist on trying to take photos for you, or take your phone to do it. Ok if you want the same instagram photos as literally everyone else visiting. Overpriced and not very interesting

    Avoid at all cost!
Waste of time and money visiting here as nothing much to see as photos came out too dark and ticket too expensive. Avoid at all cost! Silly of me not reading comments first before visiting.

Been here with my good secondary school friends. This place is suitable to visit during night as the lights will make the surrounding look very beautiful.

    Best spot to visit
Glow in the dark museum are so amazing. I went to this place with my family. We get a warm welcome once we step in the museum. First we did introduce by the staff in the museum about the DIY painting section, we really love this activity. We did a hand painting, and the paint glow in the dark. After that, we proceed to the next section which is a avatar garden, it was really impressive. The staffs are really friendly, they do interact with us to ask us to search for the hidden animal on the painting wall and proud to say that we did to find all of the animals on the painting wall. The art that I wish to point out is the Edgar Muellar painting. It was really cool, in 1 picture we saw 2 effect. WOW~ it's really cool! How they did it? We really enjoy this museum so much. It is a must visit museum!

This museum was really impressive. The combination of science and art was really cool. Beside that, the staffs here was super friendly, they did helped us took a lot of nice picture and they did taught us some technics of taking photo. They really help us a lot and bring us a lot of fun. A very energetic museum with a modern art~ I love here so much.

    Good moment
It's a small place but provided a lot of fun, there's a lot of photo spots in the building, suitable for me and my family but I can see some tourist rushing and doesn't take much photos, I mean, we paid for the entrance, might as well relax and enjoy the creative artworks.

OK if you have a couple of toddlers with you and enjoy taking endless photos of rubbish that is supposedly in 3D. Total waste of money please give it a miss

    Over-rated and Over-priced
The place is over rated and over priced. The staff are friendly and helpful if you need assistance to take a photo. But, there are only few exhibits and the place is so small for that kind of price. I spend almost RM100 and that price was already discounted. You only need 30 minutes here.

Disappointing, costly, and a waste of time
We saw many positive reviews about the place so we decided to spend our precious time at the Dark Mansion. I am writing this so that fewer people will be fooled. Please do not bother visiting unless you have absolutely nothing to do or if you have lots of money to waste. Firstly, if you call yourself a museum, you should have "objects of historical, scientific, artistic or cultural interest" as defined by Oxford Dictionary. Three posters summarising the science behind Black Light does not suffice; else I would be able to call my house a museum too. In the "museum", there were numerous photo taking zones which seemed random because there were zero descriptions explaining the glow-in-the-dark qualities/bioluminescence that the modelled creatures had (e.g. jellyfish). There were so many screaming kids and their piercing shrieks echoed in the dark and almost claustrophobic space. It gave us all a throbbing headache. The only impressive and interesting part of the "museum" was the artwork created by Edgar Mueller. Everything else seemed to be a backdrop and a distraction for visitors so that we would hopefully not notice what a scam the entire place is. They also gave us vouchers of RM 2 worth to use in the souvenir shop, but all the items they sold were outdated, aesthetically unpleasing, and of little value. We wasted about 30 minutes of our lives and walked away with a memory that will last forever. Maybe this would be better for very young kids as the screaming babies seemed to be enthusiastic about the displays that looked very fake to more discerning adult eyes. Overall, it felt like a huge scam of time and money. You would be able to find much better, more professional, and cheaper curations in the area e.g. Asia Comic Cultural Museum, Penang House of Music and Tech Dome Penang.

    Small but interesting
We bought tickets from Traveloka, so it was cheaper than buy on the spot. Actually It was small place, with special lighting effect. The staff was helpful to lighting us if we took the picture, did we satisfied? Yes we did. Do we will come back? I don't think so.

What a brilliant idea it was to visit the Dark Mansion! This dark museum boasted few exhibits, none of which excited our interest. We journeyed through the magnificently mediocre tropical Pandora Jungle within 5 minutes and attempted to make our money worth at the Outer Space exhibit. We made our way to the Infinity Room and marvelled at the nightsticks scattered across the ceiling. The room was small and we found ourselves surrounded by clueless tourists trying to make sense of what else could be done... It was definitely an underwhelming experience.35RM is all you need to understand this feeling of darkness and emptiness.

There must have been a new classification of the term museum as the “glow in the dark” museum is nothing more than a few rooms painted in fluorescent paint and black lit so it glows providing a few photo opportunities perhaps for those who like to post on social media. Nothing special! What is apparent is that it is a tourist trap intended to extract as much cash as possible from the unsuspecting visitor. 40 ringgit per adult seemed a steep entry price, but as soon as you enter they photograph you against a green screen and then add some effects and try to sell you the completed pictures as you exit, 30 ringgit for one or 50 for three. Glow in the dark light sticks are for sale inside at 11 ringgit a piece. On entry they give you “discount coupons” to use in the overpriced gift shop as a means of trying to incentivize you to buy more useless junk.
In total we spent about 20 minutes in this place as it is about the size of a small house, in my opinion a complete waste of time and money.

I personally logged this account just to write this terrible review. This is a place where paintings and props are used to create photos in 3D form creating false perspectives - except with a twist it's glow in the dark. Problem is most cameras will want to use a flash or give false settings which will disrupt your photo. You will need a staff member to take the photo for you while they hold a special light pointing at you. As such the place is tiny! About x10 photo OP stops - About 20 minutes spent in the whole place and for a whopping 40 ringgit! And to top it off they ask for another 30 at the end for x3 crappy pictures they took of you at the start. Plus the opportunity to buy even worse discount souvenirs. Please spend 40 ringgit perperson anywhere else - the only thing glowing at the end of this experience was my face from shame and anger at being ripped off

Seldom write reviews for any place/establishment but for this place. I HAVE TO DO IT. Just came back from Dark Mansion. Honestly, its one of the most awesome place, if you want to look at cool lights arts and mesmerizing pieces of light arrangements. The painting by Edgar Muller is amazing, we were flabbergasted by the work that is being put into this place. Oh, yes and one thing to highlight, we had a 2 year old with us during our tour and we initially didnt want to go there because we thought it was "too boring". Apparently, my son loves this place! We spent a good time inside because not only is the place -Not your typical museum trip- but almost feels like the combination of a museum & an amusement park.

One special, special note to highlight, we are super lucky to have the manager Mr Johnnie to help us and guide us along. He is super friendly and great with kids. His team was great in introducing those pieces to us and were super attentive to us because they know we have a hyperactive 2 year old kid that runs around. So props to them :D

We will visit again, not soon but definitely again. See you, Johnnie & Team

Actually before we buy the tickets, i think this museum like Ghost Museum because its dark 😂 but noooo ! my mistake . because its the Glow the Dark museum . they just use UV light and all the white colour or neon colour will be glowing . luckily we all wear white colour so we are glowing at that time 🤣 so easy to take photo together over there cause got tour guide can help us to take photo and teach us how to take photo at the right angle . so if you want to go there solo also can nothing to be worry because got best tour guide can help you . they know the best angle to take beautiful picture of you . For sure this museum is the BEST !!!

Expensive for what it is, we weren’t there longer than 30 minutes. Even asked if we had missed a door or something, there is an opportunity to take 2 or 3 quirky photos. Definitely don’t go out of your way to visit as we did, if your on a budget don’t go.

Travelling solo would have to be the most exciting and challenging kind of travel, exciting in a way that you have all your time to yourself, no rush, and most importantly, you could do and go whatever and wherever you want, but the downside of it is you being alone, which means no photographer. That being said, I have no expectations at all... I will just be there for amusement. Fortunately, Hannah was there to really look after me my entire stay. She took all IG-worthy shots, and even tell me the poses. Hannah, you are amazing, and I couldn't thank you enough. Another cherry on top was Pala who was so witty and funny during his magic tricks. Lastly, Sarah at the reception was like heaven's gift, she knew I was alone, so she recommended few things to do, which I enjoyed and I really did. To the management, please look after your staffs, they are all doing so great with their jobs, so passionate about the things they do, and most importantly, they care at the workplace as if it is theirs. Will defenitely be back again. And by then, I hope it's with my colleagues or someone, if not, I pray that they are still there.
