- Tour5718701231100Amazing Borneo! We booked a 6D5N Kota Kinabalu tour with Ms Joey Yong, very friendly and helpful lady, who provided us with prompt response who assisted us in booking our tour. Our guide cum driver, Joel, was also very patient, helpful, knowledgeable, punctual and friendly. He took care of us (2 seniors) throughout the trip and helped us to take all the beautiful photos and videos. Thank you Amazing Borneo! We hope to come back again in the near future :)
- Nomad4270948072800KK 2D1N tourWe booked the 2D1N Kinabalu Park/Desa Cow Farm/Kundasang tour with Amazing Borneo through their sales manager, Mr Anthony Wong who provided us with prompt and swift response. Thanks to him we were able to book separately hotel stay at a rate lower than what was offered online. We were truly delighted that the company provided us with a 7 seater car for our group of 4 giving us the ease and privacy of travel. Our guide cum driver, Mr William is also an amazing guy sharing with us his knowledge and the culture of KK and taking care of us throughout the trip. Great team at Amazing Borneo.
- Compass78324300Good serviceAnthony Wong is very patient in addressing our queries. The guide and driver are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.
- Sherpa06850856635003D2N Mount Kinabalu Climb & Kinabalu Park HQ StayThank you Amazing Borneo. The trip was awesome. This is my second time engaging Amazing Borneo for my Mount Kinabalu hike. Both in 2023. Special thank to my favourite mountain guide, Mr Rony Gohun. He is very friendly, helpful and a very good motivator. He will motivate you to reach the summit. As for the package, you wont regret it. Food & accommodations is 10/10. Will engage Amazing Borneo again in future. Till next time. Adios
- Sksalamat00Golden Girls Kinabalu AdventureOur 4 day trip was amazing! It was well planned and the pick up from airport and hotels were prompt. Amazing Borneo guides - Ridwan, Richard and William are very helpful, friendly and courteous. William was our guide for 3 days and he was awesome - very thoughtful, patient, helpful, knowledgeable, humorous and full of energy. His kindness in helping my friend who was not well at the Canopy Walk was especially endearing. And his effort in getting us to view the Rafflesia flower was out of this world. Thank you for a truly memorable adventure!
- Nomad25252208192004 Grannies Sabah TripIt was great and amazing since the get-go. And the Amazing borneos guides/staff were very friendly , Ridwan (i think) , Richard and William. Our entire trip would not have been memorable if not for William.for his knowledge, his thoughtfulness, his humour, his energy, his patience to 4 grannies. We were hoping that he would be the one sending us to the airport for our departure and were happy that he did. The ending could not have been sweeter. 😍
- Climber2896422475200Literally Most Memorable and Eye Opening Tour!!!Came here, not knowing what to expect and what to get out of this tour and country. Before coming, was thinking, Sabah? Its just another country in Malaysia. Well i was so so wrong. Start and ended off the trip with a BANG!! The amount of culture Sabah has to offer was out of this world! The different tribes and ethnic that lives there is madness! Being able to experience some of them first hand was such an eye opener. Culture Tourism at its finest. The wildlife and nature that we get to see too was great!! Something we dont get to see at our own backyards. What a way to get out of the fast paced and full on technological world we are in. All in all, the trip was worth every piece of me. Havent I mentioned how nice Sabahan are? Such great hospitality they have. Shout out to Amazing Borneo, our guide Mr Joel and our splendid driver, Jak (insane driving btw) for being with my group for the entire tour, guiding and educating us about how beautiful Sabah is. Will definitely return back to Kota Kinabalu to relive is again, all my gratitude to you guys at Amazing Borneo <3
- Tourist5960881222600Spectacular view and experienceIt was extraordinary and was such an unforgettable experience. I never would have thought that i would see that many stars and fireflies. It was majestic. My outstanding tour guide, Joel, was such a patient, knowledgable and VERY cool. Love to have him as my tour guide anytime. THANK YOU AMAZING BORNEO!!!
- 363igd00Desa Farm KKHaving coming from Canada, I find the Desa Farm not interesting. The cows are pretty skinny and basically the entire farm is more of a commercial business-minded farm. Probably it will interest the students in their education.
- d7ni00Very poor service, bad attitudeI contacted Amazing Borneo to put together a customized private tour, and it was definitely not "amazing". About a week later I got a draft itinerary from Carlotte which clearly was not in line with what I had asked for, and didn't even include an initial pricing or any details. So I responded a day later with a number of changes I wanted to make. After not hearing back for over 10 days I sent a reminder by email to ask about the status, and got a response from Carlotte that she had been "outstation" and therefore didn't have time. She then continued to say that she was "currently busy with office stuff" and would respond the following week. I never got anything from her after that. My guess with this company is that they are only interested in selling their standard package tours to as many people as possible, but will not provide any meaningful service to their clients. Not even prospective clients which usually says it all. My recommendation is that you look elsewhere if you want some kind of customer service and not just a standard tour.
- yewjinkang00Highly entertaining day trip to Kundasang by a friendly tour guideI had a great time on this tour. We had a great tour host... William Lamb. He was knowledgeable, friendly, very accomodating and even helped us take pictures. We went to - Nabalu - Desa Farm - Alpaca Club - The foot of Mount Kinabalu Heritage Park - Sabah Museum Highly enjoyable
- Jet0353345717100Amazing!Really amazing. Amazing Borneo helped us online (from the Netherlands) to fulfill our wishes. In Borneo everything fitted, drivers perfectly on time, very nice people and good advices. Do you want to go to Borneo book here! Look on the website for sites to visit. We visited the rainforest in Kinabantang river and Lankayan island, a true adventure.
- Quest4529826486300Amazing Trip & Experience in Kota KinabaluWe are extremely pleased and happy with our entire trip from Kota Kinabalu to Kundasang, including Mt Kinabalu park, and etc…. The 4 days journey there was amazing and very well organized and we are impressed. Joel, our driver cum tour guide was such a pleasant person who shared the rich cultures and all the knowledge he has of Kota Kinabalu during our trip was priceless. Joel was also an excellent driver who took care of us during the road trip to ensure our safety and well being are not compromised. Also the services provided by the sales team, especially Anthony Wong, was prompt in his response and also provided clear information and great assistance in booking our land tour smoothly and efficiently. We strongly recommend ‘Amazing Borneo’ for all Sabah trip and will definitely booked our trip with them again in the near future.
- 283venusk00Now I know why it is called Amazing BorneoMy friends and I joined the 2D1N tour to climb Mt Kinabalu and Walk the Torq. We were very lucky that we had very nice weather during our stay and we met some great guides (Joey and Vinus). Under their guidance (also helping us carrying our heavy gear during the hike), we were able to watch the amazing sunsets and sunrise from the mountain! They also helped us take beautiful pictures! Would definitely recommend my friends to join this tour!
- gotravelnz00Recommend and would use again!I had an amazing time climbing Mt. Kinabalu. From the smooth and helpful booking process (Thanks Jenniewee), to the pick up, organization at the base of the hike, and everything all the way up, it ran like a well-oiled machine! My guide Danson was fantastic - answered all of my questions about the mountain, kept a steady pace up on day 1, and timed our pace on day 2 so we reached the summit just as the sun crested the horizon! Would absolutely recommend this tour for anyone wanting to climb Mt. Kinabalu - a tough but such a worthwhile trek!

My friend and I went for our first time to Sabah where we decided to book the Fun Boat Snorkeling and Island Visit from Kota Kinabalu with Amazing Borneo. We’ve done many snorkelling tours so far, but this one surely stood out!! Our friendly guide Joel gave us high-quality and detailed instruction which made the experience even better. During the trip, we managed to see lots of marine life and corals. I would definitely recommend all to make sure you don't miss out on this well-organised and fun trip!

Mixed group with divers meant we went to sites that other snorkellers didn't. Had a small group and a great staff member with us. Boat had water, cake, tea and coffee all available and included. Really pleased to see sharks, a turtle and lots of fish, with someone knowledge to point out interesting things.

I feel a little guilty for the review I’m leaving as the staff were lovely, however the trip was to only one island & the sea was filled with litter; it was disgusting. We arrived at Mamutik island & honestly, the bay & surrounding snorkelling area was covered in floating litter of all sorts of varieties including a used nappy, open condom & a filled dog poo bag. Not to mention the heaps of plastic bags/bottles etc. I had to ask if we could sail further out to avoid the litter to which the staff said it’s hard to avoid. This makes me think the company are aware of the issue yet still take tourists there. The coral was also disappointing & basically dead & brown/grey. It’s really a tour not worth the money unfortunately. It also concluded earlier than we were told when booking & instead of leaving at 1.30 after lunch, we could have gone to Gaya or another island. Don’t waste your time!

Hi Mischa, we are sorry to hear about your disappointing experience in Mamutik island. While we aim to provide a satisfactory tour experience for all our guests, there are certain factors outside of our control, such as the change in tides that brings in the litter. On that particular day, it was high tides with a very bad sea condition and rubbish entered TARP protected marine park territory including Mamutik island's shores. Our team has immediately highlighted this to the Sabah Parks authority. Our tour was delivered per standard timing. Lunch starts from 11:45am - 12:00pm and afterwards it's free and easy time to explore the island. Leaving the island earlier at 1:30pm was agreed upon due to the bad conditions at the island. TARP islands consist of Gaya Island, Sapi Island, Manukan Island, Mamuntik Island and Sulug Island. On that day, our team decided to bring the group to locations deemed the best in such a situation. We are very sorry that you had an unpleasant experience with us. We hope for you to give us another chance to serve you with a much pleasant tour with us in the future.

This trip was absolutely wonderful! Our tour guides were attentive, friendly, and caring, especially Bibi (apologies if I misspelled her name). Being on the boat and enjoying the sea spray, snorkeling and seeing the amazing diversity of coral and fish, and then the time to relax and chill on Mamutik Island were all incredible. The lunch was ok; not quite a "sumptuous BBQ," but there were options for different rice or noodle dishes. The only disappointing thing (which was NOT the tour's fault at all) was the amount of rubbish polluting the water - we humans can be terrible to our natural environment. But overall, 5/5 stars - this was an amazing day!

This was one of the few disappointing activities on our Malaysian holiday. A lot of time wasted waiting around. Guides were more interested in socialising amongst themselves. While the snorkelling equipment and boat was fine, the experience was average (however I acknowledge we are spoilt in Australia). Lunch spot was a total let down.

Different people on the boat were doing different things so we had to wait for the others. Divers and snorkeling were slightly staggered so had to wait for the other group. We had to wait almost an hour for the zip line group so snorkeling was cut back. Lunch was good though and the snorkeling was pretty decent.

Hello cindy136,
Thank you so much for taking the time to give us feedback about your recent experience with us. We do apologize for the waiting time and the demand for several activities was partly the contribution to the setback. Please note that your feedback has been shared with our team and the information is useful for improvement of our services. Thank you once again and we do hope you would come back to us for a much greater experience. Cheers!

We did this tour among three others with Amazing Borneo on Saturday, June 15th. Pickup and drop-off were impeccable, everything was organized smoothly. The weather wasn't that good, and it hadn't been for quite a while, as we were told. So we were made aware of the fact that visibility would be poor right from the start. Which is fine, because that's just nature and you can't control it. We were 10 people on the boat and realized from the start that there were only 4 people who came for snorkeling. The rest came to dive. We've done snorkeling before where we were put together with divers, and those tours usually favored the divers at the expense of those who wanted to snorkel. Meaning that the spots were chosen with regard to what you can see when you dive, not necessarily when you only want to snorkel.
We got the impression that this was the case here, too, as we were informed that we would actually not stop at any of the usual snorkeling spots because of the afore mentioned poor visibility.
So our first stop was at the more protected side of an island, with mainly hard corals and rather few fish. We did spot some unexpected clownfish, so that was cool. We actually found visibility quite good, we've had far, far worse, and we began to wonder whether we couldn't have gone to the more colorful reef side of the island after all. Still, snorkeling there was OK. There were jellyfish in the water, harmless ones, but they had quite the sting and you didn't really see them as they were transparent. So we suggest you wear swim shirts or such. But again, they are harmless.
Time allocated to snorkel was ample compared to other, similar tours taken in different countries, though that might actually be one of the good things that came from being with divers:you have to wait for them, which means more time in the water.
Our second spot was pretty disastrous, and it was almost insolent to sell it as a snorkeling spot. There was mainly dead coral, fish life was almost non-existent. Best thing we saw were a few blue sea stars, a few neon blue swarmfish, that was it. The ocean there was practically empty, if it weren't for the jellyfish, that were far more numerous there... I've never seen the likes of it and we snorkel in almost every holiday. We know what you can potentially spot during snorkeling in TARP, so really, this was soo disappointing. One of the boat crew confirmed our suspicion that that was not normally one of their spots. Incidentally, we were the only boat there... Visibility was not great in the second spot either, but that's not their fault. It was still okay, again, we've had worse.
Snorkeling was pretty well safety-wise. Two of the crew were always in the water with us, bringing safety rings to mark the limits of where you should swim, and to help the snorkelers should they tire in the water.
Lunch was very good, selection of local and western food, drinks had to be paid extra. After lunch, we had about 90 minutes of leisure time on the island, then we came back at around 14:30.
It was an okay trip, but we kinda wish they would have either cancelled it, if they really thought visibility was THAT bad, or tried to switch days, or that they would have tried the nicer spots nonetheless... then again, we're pretty sure that this trip was cut out for the six divers, not for the 4 snorkelers and that we had to contend with diving spots instead of beautiful snorkeling spots. We have another snorkeling trip coming up on June 18th... here's to hoping it will be better.
EDIT: We received very nice feedback from management to our review and were offered compensation for this trip. This goes to show that the company very obviously cares about their clients and shows some awesome customer service. All our other tours booked with this operator were very enjoyable: do take the tour to the Kinabalu Park and Hot Springs, it´s totally worth it, and our guide, Joel, was absolutely awesome. You should give him a serious pay raise! He was very knowledgeable about the plants and flowers of the Kinabalu Park and we had some very nice discussions with him. His english was flawless. The tour was only outdone by the amazing snorkeling on Mengalum Island, which is also totally worth the trip. Do not shy away from this trip because of the many tourists that go there, as the reef spreads around the island and disperses the crowds for snorkeling.

I have been to KK 3 times. All include snorkelling at TARP from the islands. But this time, we decide to try snorkelling from a boat because sadly from the beach, many corals are dead.
Also snorkelling from deeper waters means less likely for you to damage the coral as they are deeper below.
Well it was worth it. Everyone at Amazing Borneo and Sea Tango were professional in what they do. From enquiries to the actual activity itself. Thanks to Nathan and his team during the trip. Nice bunch of guys. Always on look out for the snorkellers safety.
Boat is clean. Nice that they have coffee, water and cakes served.
Their snorkelling gears are well maintained.
Lastly the lunch at Gaya Island is nice. You get to choose one meal from the restaurant menu and we did like it. Just prepare some cash for your drinks or bring water with you. You can top up your water from their mineral water container.
We have been on many boat snorkelling trip from Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand, this was the best well organised one so far.

Package for sea walk included: hotel pickup, boat transfer from and return jesselpont port to the pontoon, the sea walk activity, lunch, boat transfer to visit sapi island (just a minute away from the pontoon, dirty and overcrowded). The amazing Borneo guide (Joel) looked after every detail, from purchasing the boat tickets (the transfer was on a public transport boat not owned by amazing Borneo) to arrange the additional boat transfer and get us to have priority for the seawalk. He was very kind to supervise our bags when we went snorkelling.
Clarification: the sea walk activity and the underwater observatory are on the pontoon. The pontoon is managed by borneoreef. Amazing Borneo simply arrange things and make it easy and smooth for you (peace of mind instead of the doubt for boats and timings)

Hello kagesy,
At the Jesselton Point, there can be hundreds of people at one time. Indeed you are correct, you can get confused and intimidated with all the hustle and bustle at the pier. We are here to assist and to guide our customers, to ensure they enjoyed the trip and have a peace of mind. Thank you so much for your kind review and we hope to see you again in the future.

Are there and how much are the surcharges for pickup from Imago Mall, if any? My accommodation is at the Loft Residence. Can the shuttle transport pick us up from Loft D lobby on ground floor (right next to SOULed Out restaurant)?

Hi. Just wanna check, if I wanna use your package, which part of KK should I stay? Me n my husband wanna go for honeymoon to KK it’s our first time being there. So where would you recommend so that other days we can enjoy the surrounding?

I would suggest staying somewhere near Gaya Street or near that area as mostly these packages arrange also pick up and drop off services, meaning where you stay is not really that much of a concern. It’s just that most of the famous restaurants are located near Gaya Street and Gaya Night Market and Sunday Market are held in Gaya Street as well. I personally have visited KK twice and stayed at Gaya Street for both visits. So yeah, hope this helps. Enjoy ur honeymoon ahead!
