About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Bathrugby10 contributionsAll goodPicked up from hotel on time, Vince our guide was polite and informative, short hop to island. The snorkelling was ok, Sandy water limited vision on surface but dive a few feet and good. Lunch was very tasty and wide ranging short walk around island and a bit of swimming and snorkelling off of beach. Not much else to do, but additional snacks before departing ( snoozing in hammock looking at great views). Enjoyable.Written 20 January 2025
- claireandp20150 contributionsBeautiful island, relaxing tripBeautiful beach, food was varied and delicious. Kids enjoyed both Western and Asian cuisine. Well organised, pick up and drop off on time. I left my sunglasses on the island and the guide kindly returned them to me the next day. Unfortunately, the combination of cloudy weather, and me choosing to lie on a towel on the beach meant I got bitten with sand flies a lot . I advise to spray insect repellent.Written 30 December 2024

- Dumitru D0 contributionsDisappointment and money loss!Biggest disappointment of our vacation! It's just a lie because you have to drive for 3 hours one way for 1 hour trip on ATV... The commute was very dangerous because of the recklessness of the driver! I'm not recomanding, definitely!Written 13 November 2024
- jbq220 contributionsGreat day trip option with kidsThis day trip was seamless with pick up on time from our hotel. 30 min van trip, 20 min boat trip and then a great day snorkelling on this private island. Lunch was delicious. You can buy drinks on the island. There are a few stingers in the area but not painful like jelly fish. Glamping overnight here would be fun. The only down side was the staff on the trip didn’t communicate at all. One guide slept most of the van trip. Definitely value for money and a great experience in Borneo for my son and I.Written 4 October 2024
- 153zalia0 contributionsFantastic DayWe had a great time on this tour, the island is beautiful, the lunch was fantastic and the best - our tour guide Vince, he was a lovely man full of knowledge, made us feel very comfortable and made sure we had a good time.Written 4 September 2024
- naturag20240 contributionsGood day out and different from other island hopping trips to more mainstream islandsThis was a good trip. Schedule was however brought forward from what was advertised, we were picked up at 7.10am which was a tad early for us. It also finished earlier, leaving the island at 13.30/14.00. Food was ok, don't expect gourmet stuff and the afternoon tea snack was a bit rushed due to departure time. Guide, Nick, superfriendly and helpful. The island is nice because it's not crowded at all. Only 15-20 people there on the day. Snorkeling could have been better if water was clearer- but suspect it wasn't because of the rainy season. Overall would recommend, especially with kids as it's not too crowded and it's quite a relaxing half day tour (started at 7ish and got back to hotel by 3ish). The beach has some hamacs/ sun beds by the shade and whole experience is pretty chilled.Written 25 August 2024
- Sharon D0 contributionsGreat snorkelling day tripWe were fortunate to have great weather on the day. Enjoyed the snorkelling by the boat. Saw loads of colourful fish, and I even saw clown fish. Our tour guide, Vince, was punctual, friendly, chatty, and gave us some information on things to do and see in KK. He also was great in informing us with the itinerary of the day.Written 10 July 2024
- SINEAD M0 contributionsNice day tripOur pick up was punctual. Guide was lovely & professional. Had one 40 mins session of snorkelling and stayed on island until 2.30pm. Lunch & snacks were delicious. Resort itself very clean but move further down beach the plastic & trash is shocking - I know it’s a problem everywhere but think they should try and clear it and keep on top of clearing it regularly as puts you off snorkelling & swimming. Couldn’t see the clear kayak as advertised to see the ocean below but other kayaks and paddle boards available for free. Nice day.Written 12 March 2024
- angelikat6510 contributionsRelaxing tour far from the crowds, highly recommend!Such a relaxing tour, I would highly recommend! You get to visit a private island, at the time we went there were about 20-30 people on the whole island, feels like you get the whole island to yourself. Snorkelling was nice, felt very safe, ideal also for people who can’t swim. Lunch and snacks were delicious. There’s good facilities on the island like showers and toilets, a snack store. We got some pictures of us as well :) there are kayaks and sup boards you can use for free and some other equipment for rent. Ideal for solo travellers too :)Written 3 January 2024
- pollyf20130 contributionsFantastic experience, highly recommended! For everyone who is in Kota Kinabalu and looking for an island to go to, look no further than Dinawan with EasyGo Tours! Vince was our tour guide and it was fantastic. He picked us up promptly and Dinawan is absolutely stunning. The beach had crystal clear water, very pristine, and was not crowded at all. There were a ton of water sports to play with and the lunch/afternoon tea was so good! We also had unlimited water, tea and coffee which was great. The entire day went very smoothly & efficiently. The staff are all super friendly and and we felt very safe and comfortable the entire day. Vince was a great tour guide, he was communicate and helpful, always checked in on us but gave us a ton of space. We never felt rushed and was very well taken care of. At the end, he helped us take a ton of photos and gave us a bunch of suggestions and spots to take photos - we really appreciated it! We can't boast about this tour enough and really recommend everyone to check it out!!Written 2 December 2023
- Yin20 contributionsATV adventureWe started off with bad weather when travelling up to Kundasan. Glad the sky cleared up and the view was amazing. The experience was great and the ice cream from the dairy farm was yummy too! Thanks to our guide Hector.Written 1 October 2023
- 31kwakuk0 contributionsRelaxed, no crowds, great food!A great day all around. Started with an excellent guide, Vince who took advantage of the lack of traffic on a Sunday allowing us a local breakfast at a local coffee shop followed by a stop at a local beach before we went on our way to the island. The island was beautiful with very few people, felt like it was our own! Lunch was also fantastic. The water was a bit murky for snorkelling, though lovely and colourful fish and coral nonetheless. All in all a great day! Thanks Vince!Written 25 September 2023
- travelling-rosemans0 contributionsA great day out!It was great to get out of KK and spend time snorkelling and swimming. Visibility was a little murky for snorkelling but there were still plenty of fish to see. There was kayaks, paddle boards etc to use on the island as well as a chance to relax in hammocks and take it easy. The lunch provided was plentiful and tasty! Hin was a great guide and looked after us well. Booking was effortless and the tour was well organised.Written 15 August 2023
- An-Nhien L0 contributionsWhat you see in advertising photos you will see exactly the same in your eyes.Absolute highlight of this tour is the snorkeling experience. It was exactly like snorkeling or diving in a huge and colorful aquarium. As beginners we were in good hand of Nani our tour guide, who directed us with a life saving ring through different coral reefs. She was also our photographer, eagerly diving down and turned around to take photos for us while we were snorkeling. Our other tour guide is Joey who also took care of us tourists on the boat very considerately and nicely. The boat captain was definitely a sea warrior who surely knew what he was doing on a speed boat on the sea during a 45-minute ride. It was like a live riding performance while the ocean is his own stage.Written 14 August 2023

Our tour guide James as a super tour guide working under the less than ideal conditions of the beginning of rain. The drive there was long but there was good food. There are mosquitos and you will need repellent! We saw the proboscis monkeys and I highly recommend you bring your telephoto lens for pictures because they are shy! Or at least bring binoculars.
We then saw the more regular monkeys and one came into our boat for small bananas.
James was fantastic to us with Sky-Mirror photography! He got us to where we needed to be at the right time and, even though it started raining, he did all he could to produce fantastic Sky-Mirror photographs of me and my fiancee. After that was the firefly viewing and that turned out to also be amazing as the fireflies seemed to come on at his command like Christmas lights.
All in all a great adventure I highly recommend you reserve at least one whole day for.

This is a must-do tour in KK, in my opinion. Pick up was on time. Snack was provided and they were delicious goreng pisang (fried bananas).
As city-dwellers, we appreciated this exposure to ride the river cruise in search of the proboscis monkey. It was unfortunate that during our time, it just stopped raining and the monkeys could not be spotted. But we managed to get up and close to the long-tailed monkeys and feed them.
After dinner, we went to the beach to catch the sunset, and we were lucky to catch it as it had been rainy. Our kids loved playing at the beach. Our guide, Raymond was so patient with all the passengers onboard, helping them take photos against the beautiful backdrop. He was such a skilled photographer, timing his shots such that you get the infamous mirror effect on the sea in your photos. He also offered to take some individual shots of which I would have neglected, being busy with the kids if he didn't mention.
We also managed to see fireflies and Raymond and team managed to lure them amidst our cruise boat so we had a chance to hold them.
It was such a great experience that my family will treasure.

Despite the heavy rain on the day we went the tour, our guide, Raymond did everything to make us enjoy the trip. Booking online was easy. It was followed up immediately with the confirmation email and the day before our trip I received a WhatsApp message confirming our hotel pickup time, the name of our guide and his vehicle registration number.
The drive was around 2.5 hours and we had refreshments and donuts and cookies on arrival. Ten we headed to the boat for the mangrove tour. Waterproof covering were provided for those who had not brought their own. We didn’t see any macaque monkeys but did spot a proboscis monkey briefly, high in a tree. They are small so binoculars are useful. Then we returned to the rite for dinner which was plain but the cooked vegetables were very tasty, and the chicken was nice. There was a chance to take photos of the amazing sunset but sadly, not any mirror beach style photos because it had been heavy rain and no sun earlier.
At sunset, we went back on the boat to see the fireflies and the guides truly made this a magical experience. I had one walking about my arm! Then we returned to the mini bus back to our hotel. It was a good day out and I’d recommend it. We also saw some of the countryside on the journey which was nice

Tourist trap. To flee. Be careful, the program is tempting but the reality is quite different.
The journey to get there is very, very long, allow 1h30 there and 1h30 return on bumpy roads.
On arrival, there is no tea or special welcome but tourists in droves and diluted orange juice whose origin cannot be identified.
The announced program is not respected at all. Departure in a boat to discover the monkeys: in reality you are asphyxiated by the other tourist boats which flock around you and the monkeys with a disgusting smell of oil.
Barely gone, it's already time to go home.
The guide did not stop in front of the crocodile on our return, yet one of the rare important moments without tourists. We don't understand, barely 40 minutes after the start of the trip on the river, the boat returns to the starting point at 5 p.m. And the surprise he finally offers you dinner. Yes to dinner at 5 p.m. Instead of 7:30 p.m. planned in the program.
Then he calls it Free Time, meaning he lets you wait for 2 hours on the beach doing nothing. No wonder he suggests bringing dinner forward.
At 6:45 p.m., skymiror time, countless tourist boats arrive to take photos. After 1h45 of waiting you are finally drowned in the mass to appreciate the rare sunset.
6:50 p.m., departure for the fireflies. 1 star for this atypical moment despite the noise and smell of the boat's engine.
7:30 p.m. No dinner but departure to return to the hotel at 9 p.m.
Summary: you pay almost €50 per person for 40 minutes + 30 minutes of walking (day + night) the rest of the time you spend waiting without doing anything or on the road, it's very expensive and above all very long for not big thing.

I can see lots of people have rated this experience highly and I wonder whether I was perhaps spoilt previously having been fortunate enough to experience Kinabatangan river which had longer boat rides and plenty of proboscis and macaques . I chose this trip as I really wanted to see the fireflies.
First impressions were not great, a worse for wear bus picked us up and after the 1.5 hr Journey we arrived at an outdoor area- no communication from the tour guides for half an hour or so which left us sat wondering what was going on. There were some nibbles and drinks provided. Eventually someone approached us and told us we would be on the boat with him. The boat ride along the mangroves was short. We did see both proboscis and macaques.
Unfortunately they encourage the macaques onto the boat after clapping at them on approach and begin feeding them bananas. Can’t say that I appreciated being so close given we have been told they can be very aggressive.
I feel like the monkeys should be left to their own devices and watched from a respectable distance. If I wanted to watch monkeys being fed I’d go to a zoo rather than travelling halfway across the world in hopes to see them in a more natural way.
After this short excursion we were then given 2 hours on the beach and to eat. As for photography I assume people got such good pics previously because it was better weather? It was cloudy for us and just looked like a normal beach. 2 hours felt like a long time sitting around. Dinner was ok.
It just didn’t feel as well organised or professional as other experiences I’ve been on in a Borneo.
For me what saved it was the fireflies which is why I went in the first place. It was magical seeing them glimmer in the tree.

Don't book this tour if you care about the wildlife , it felt very unethical.
When we did the river cruise, there was a big lizard sunbathing on the palm tree a few metres above the water (pictured), the boat took us very close to it, and one of the guides pushed it off the tree and into the water. The guides were all laughing. The lizard was fine, but there was no need to disturb it.
Also when feeding the monkeys, the tour guides were teasing it by holding out a banana and then snatching it back to try to get the monkeys agitated and show their teeth. Again, this was unnecessary. I don't feel the monkeys should be fed by the tour groups at all because it can result in them being dependent on us for food and affect their natural behaviours.
The firefly part of the tour was incredible, there were so many fireflies in the trees and it was magical. That was until the tour guides shone a torch to bring them onto the boat and encouraged tourists to catch them with their hands. Most tourists were gentle which I've read is safe for the fireflies, but some tourists were clapping their hands together, which would kill the fireflies if caught. The guides did not ask them to stop doing this or show the correct method.
Overall this has the potential to be a great tour, the river is stunning and we saw proboscis monkeys, the beach is massive and there were lots of sand bubbler crabs which was cool to see, the sunset was very pretty, the fireworks on the beach were cool, and the fireflies were amazing and unique. Unfortunately the tour guides have made this trip unethical, which spoiled it for my group.

Overall a great value trip to experience monkeys in the wild, fireflies and some gorgeous beach photos.
We were staying out of Kota Kinabalu at the Shanghai La rasa ria so had a longer transfer journey and had to pay the driver slightly more but the journey/driver/guide were brilliant, communication with WhatsApp prior to the trip gave you confidence.
We arrived at a shack by the river where a number of trips & boats were. It’s authentic, there’s clean toilets but don’t have high expectations for high tea. It was tea/juice/ fried banana and something else which tasted quite pleasant. The trip starts with this and then we were shown on a boat and donned our life jackets. The long tailed monkeys are along the river bed, the guides pull close by and attract the monkeys with bananas. They board the boats swinging around you. It’s quite intense but amazing to experience them up close. You can feed them with the banana if you want. A great experience we got lots of photos & videos. You then go hunting g for crocodiles and proboscis monkeys. You do t get as close to these but we sat watching them a while.
We then got taken back to the same shack for dinner. This is a buffet of rice, noodles, vegetables and chicken/prawns. It was all very tasty especially the noodles. There’s juice and you can buy fizzy soft drinks.
We then reboarded the boat and were taken to a nearby beach where you stay for around an hour. Great sunset, pictures and we saw a fire show. The locals are here selling drinks/snacks. There was a tiger beer stall but buy before you walk down to the beach as he sells out pretty quick and had left by the time we walked back up the beach.
Our guide Hector took the most amazing shots of us by the water. It was incredible. We then returned to the boat for the firefly experience. Never would you normally be happy for a fly to land on you and you stare at it not wanting it to move. They are magical and a must see activity.
We then returned to the shack and boarded the mini bus for return. I was really disappointed to see no one from our trip tip the guide or driver. They made the trip. Well done and thank you Hector 👏👏👏

Great experience. Seeing the proboscis monkeys (even though shy) was brilliant, and having the chance to give the long tail monkeys bananas made the heart race, especially king monkey! The firefly show in the evening was like nothing I had ever seen before. All of this was made better by our tour guide Raymond, who was friendly, chatty and very informative about the local area and culture.

The fireflies were great. In terms of improvement, clean the river up. River was a great eco space, but lots of rubbish - was awful to see. Boats are noisy and a lot of petrol fumes. Don’t sit in the back of the boat. Guide was knowledgeable but had to ask him questions, he could have talked a lot more about the river system and native wildlife. One guide had a laser he pointed at wildlife to get them to move which was awful. He then shone into river bank during firefly tour to make a light display, completely destroying the lovely firefly experience. We didn’t see any probiscus monkeys. ‘Hi tea’ was fried banana and cordial. Dinner was tasty. ‘Sky mirror’ was ok, nice sunset. Little bit of a mass produced tour to make dollars, no real passion or care for the Borneo environment or experience for tourists.

Yesterday we had an awesome tour with the lovely Edward & Pen! We were the only ones to join them because there are not many tourist in the area atm, but they made the experience extra precious for us. We were picked up by a really nice mini van. Then we had juice with fried bananas, home made. The tour started with the monkeys. We got to feed them bananas and they joined us on the boat, very cool to see. After the monkeys we saw a mini crocodile and lizard. The dinner buffet was delicious. After dinner we went to the amazing scenery of sunset beach and the tour ended with out of this world firefly magic. Pen and Edward were really professional and kind and made loads of great pictures, thank you so much guys!
