It was amazing and I would recommend people go there.
Sunset cruise. I had a good time in the cruise. They provided us with free flow of orang juice and kek lapis. Oran utan conservatory was a good experience. They were so lany oran utan came out.

Steep price tag for decent activities
We had fantastic customer service who responded to our late night texts for more information, helpful driver who is local and was conversant in both English and Malay, and kayak guides who were experienced and clearly knew their stuff. But I would not be honest if I say this was worth the price tag of RM 285 per person: Semenggor Orang Utan Sanctuary: The tour's driver took us to the sanctuary, gave us the tickets and basically left us to our own devices thereafter. I'm not saying that there's more that the driver could've done, but if you have a valid driving licence and could navigate with Google Maps or Waze, there would be no reason for anyone to pay for a tour to see the orang utans. The instructor who did all the explaining about orang utans was from the sanctuary for which the entrance fee was RM 10 each (for foreigners) and RM 5 (for locals). Anna Rais Longhouse: Here, our driver doubled as our tour guide. We had some shots of rice wine which was inexpensive (RM 10 - 12 a bottle). Our driver then took us around the longhouse and gave some introduction and took photos for us as we walked. It was a shame that the driver couldn't provide more explanation than the most basic information about the longhouse and the Bidayuh culture that one could easily find from the internet. It felt like we could've simply driven here and did the visit on our own without needing a tour. Lunch Our lunch was prepared by our driver's sister and was as simple as it can be i.e. 3 dishes and some curry puffs and that was it. Wasn't even worth the time reviewing. Kayaking Absolutely no complaints here. The nature of the activity required experienced guides/instructors who, in our case, did an amazing job looking after us, besides taking plenty of decent photos. Unless you're some kayak veteran or are familiar with the rivers, I would not recommend doing this on your own. All in all, I would suggest that if you're interested in doing all of the aforementioned activities, you probably don't need to pay for a tour save for the kayaking experience. The tour doesn't add any value to your experiences that if you get there by yourself.

A great day out of town on the river
This is a great day out of the city with a 1 hour drive into the country to the starting point. We were worried as we are not fit and in out late 50's-early 60's, but it is fairly easy as you are paddling downstream with no strong currents or serious rapids - perfect for beginners! The river was a bit low as the rainy season was still to start and we had to maneuver around the shallows from time to time. The three brothers looked after us and learnt a bit about county living and features along the way. The stop for lunch at a village was fine - simple food bit tasty. They take photos as you go so no need for your own camera. Was a great day with very friendly people.

          Wonderful time
Had an absolutely wonderful time from seeing orangutans, one with a baby, to an excellent lunch followed by canoeing for a couple of hours. It was so peaceful. The guides, who are all brothers, were very helpful and informative. Would definitely recommend this trip. Change of clothes is essential but not heavy boots. Only thing I would change would be to bring flip flops or water shoes for the walk to the canoe through some stones which were painful and slippy.

          Rainforest Kayaking
Our family had a great day paddling down the river. Our 8 year old daughter rode with a guide and had a blast. Lunch at the village was delicious. We stopped at Semenggoh first in the morning, which worked out well as I would not want to make a trip out there alone. The guides took photos all day which we were able to download afterwards.

          A brilliant day out!
We recently did the Package C day trip which included a trip to the Semenggoh Wildlife Reserve, followed by kayaking 14 kilometres along beautiful rainforest river, a buffet lunch and then a tour of the Annah Rais Longhouse, which was really interesting. We were picked up from our hotel in Kuching and given the most amazing day out by a very knowledgeable guide. All aspects of this tour were amazing and we were very impressed with this company and the good value the trip represented. We would highly recommend this tour company.

          Amazing, fun filled Day
This was a good choice. The whole day was well organised and ran very smoothly. Attention was paid to safety and individual needs, The visit to the Orang-outangs was a highlight followed by Kayaking down a river with a stop for an excellent lunch of traditional foods. We also visited a long house. Our guide was excellent and very knowledgeable.

Lovely day paddling down the river
Extremely enthusiastic, helpful leaders. Great day out paddling down the river, stopping lunch and and swim with the fish. We went in the dry season when the river was low and relaxed. Our guide was desribing how the the river gets to a much higher level in teh rainy season -could be very exciting.

Kayaking through the rainforest - what's not to like?
About an hour out of Kuching, the chance to kayak down the Semadang river was too good to pass up. No need to fight the current, this is a one-way trip through easy rapids, with the chance to swim in the lazy shallow stream. An excellent lunch is included, cooked by the sister of one of the kayak guides. We did it with a group of others out of Kuching, in double kayaks (parent and child together). 11.5 km stretch with breaks, so pretty straightforward. Our guide told us that it is most fun in January/February during the rainy season! No scares in August but plenty of fun, nonetheless for occasional kayakers like ourselves. Some beautiful scenery and interesting wildlife thrown in for good measure.

          Nice day trip from Kuching
Nice day trip - the guides were very friendly, knowledgeable and interesting to talk to. Saw the orangutans at Semmengoh before the kayak trip. Kayaks were decent, river was a little low as there had been no rain but enjoyable scenery and delicious lunch before the long house experience which was interesting also.

Unforgettable time on the Sarawak day tour
My partner and I recently had a great time on the Sarawak experience day tour. We were promptly picked up by the team from our hotel in downtown Kuching on the day of the tour. The pickup time and expectations were well communicated and super simple. We started the day at the Sarawak Orangutan preserve and were greeted by multiple Orangutans as soon as we entered. Our tour guide purchased our tickets and made the process simple. We saw 6 orangutans total, including a mother and her 6 day old baby! Incredible experience. Next up we were driven roughly 45 min through winding jungle to get to the long house. We were greeted with a tasting of local rice wine, then spent roughly an hour touring the long house compound. It was a great insight into the local culture, and a nice learning experience on the trip. Our tour guide then took us to the start of the kayaking portion of the trip, where we had a lovely lunch of local cuisine, cooked by the tour guides sister! It was delicious and filling, and they even were able to accommodate a vegetarian that was part of our group. After lunch we got our life jackets and paddles and walked a short distance down some steps to start the kayak trip. The float was 11 km and took us roughly 2.5 hours, but the float time will vary based on your group and the river conditions. The trip is through beautiful bamboo forests and limestone rock formations that take your breath away. We saw monkeys and birds, and got plenty of great photos taken by our guide. The kayaks are comfortable and water is provided. The trip culminated with a swim in a deep river pool then a short paddle to the pick up area where we were taken back to our hotel after changing clothes. Overall, we loved our experience, the guides were great, and we felt the price was very reasonable for all the activities we got to partake in.

          Amazing day on the water
We had such a great experience on this tour. We got to see five orangutans at the start of the day, spent several hours on the river, and explored a long house. The guides were helpful, funny, and informative. Would highly recommend.

          Kayaking
We booked a combination package, which included: transport, Semenggoh wildlife rehabilitation centre, kayakin, in between kayaking, a lunch at the Bidayuh villagee and swimming (optional). All for a very reasonable price. Everything was well taken care of and the food was delicious. The area is bautiful, the trip fun and photos are taken by the guides while kayaking and sent freely, to your e-mail adress. We have experienced this very positively and can recommend it to anyone.

          Great one day nature experience
Truly great experience! We booked the Package B trip a day before which very last minute. Lucky there is slot available. The van pick us up around 8am. First stop to Orang Utan place, we are very lucky to be able to see 7 orang utan! Next is to the main activity which is kayaking. Total is 11km length of kayaking which took around 4 to 5 hours with lunch break, river bathing and fish feeding in between. Very beautiful scenery along the river where we kayak. We are all exhausted in the end but is definitely an awesome trip!

Easy kayaking down river. We were well looked after. Prompt pick up. Friendly guides and driver. Saw some monkeys and sea eagle with snake in mouth. Lunch good. Climbed up small inlet river to waterfall and also swam in river. Cool temperature and fun.

We had a great day although our backs were a bit tired at the end of the day. Scenery was great. An extra special inclusion was the photos sent to us at the end of the day at no charge. Memories to cherish.

This was my second time doing the kayaking trip and this time it was pouring rain and we absolutely loved the view in the rain. It felt like we were experiencing the "real" Borneo in the rain with mist all over the hills! I recommend this trip to everyone who visits Kuching!

Before going on this day trip, Audrey was very prompt and kind with my enquiries about the details and what to bring for kayaking. Signing up for the trip was very easy too. We got picked up by Mr Asin right from our accommodation's doorstep and overall it was a fun and amazing experience! Because we went on 26 Dec, which is a holiday in Kuching, many of the residents at the longhouses were at home and they were very friendly and even had us sit down and try some of their food! Lunch was also cooked at home by a local and we felt the love that went into preparing the food. My father and I felt safe throughout the kayaking. We kayaked for 2 hours (11km) and it felt too short because of the fun and the views we had. Highly recommend this adventure! (We signed up for package C.)

Hi Abigail! You're a most welcome. Thank you for the review. So glad to here about your experiences at the longhouse. I've always loved experiences at the village especially during festive season. Watching families uniting under one roof and even a simple food prepared somehow taste so good. Haha! Hope you had a great Merry Christmas in Kuching and wishing you a wonderful and fruitful year next year! :)

The scenery and activities are fun. My kids love it. The guide also friendly and 3 guide for 8 of us. They took us photos and send us via dropbox the next 2 days. Love this service provide to us. The lunch is simple. The only sad thing is the apparently the guide know there are sand flies at the areas they stop for swimming. The guide didn't inform us and only mentioned it when we are about to leave. At the end, 4 of us bitten by the sand flies till need to see doctor. what's a disappointment.

Hi Erica. Thank you so much for the review and for the feedback. I've already inform the guides and they have taken note of it. Hope you will get better soon. Perhaps to ease the itch, you could try hydrocortisone or calamine lotion directly to the bites to help them heal and reduce itching. Oatmeal baths and aloe vera can also soothe itching. Hope these helps. :)

We went during low season so there were only the 2 of us so it’s more like a private trip with 2 guides going along with us. The experience was amazing. The water was higher during low season so it wasn’t too tiring to kayak. We got to kayak into a small stream off the main river which ended with a waterfall. Totally unexpected! Water in the river was cold and extremely refreshing so we didnt feel hot at all despite being directly under the sun for 3 hours. The whole atmosphere was very serene and chill. We also saw several monkeys and a monitor lizard crossing the river. Would really recommend going during a low season ie nov-jan so its less crowded and have higher water so you dont have to work so hard. One thing though, thr were a lot of sand flies at the last stop where we got to swim so be careful and apply insect repellent beforehand.

Well worthwhile. Like a private tour with only the 2 of us for the kayaking. Easy going kayaking down the river mostly aided by the guide's paddling. They brought us to a small waterfall. Prior to making the booking, our queries were promptly responded to. The 3 brothers (guides and driver) made our trip truly an enjoyable experience.

If you fancy doing something a bit different this is a really great day out. We did Package B which was Semenggoh and Kayaking.

Don’t be put off by the Kayaking the guides are excellent and are always on hand the help you out

Also, as it was torrential rain in the morning and we didn’t see any Orangutangs they offered to drop us back off at the sanctuary on the way back so we could, which was really nice of them

Don’t get me wrong... it’s not a easy morning but the efforts and the aches are worth it
