It was amazing and I would recommend people go there.
Sunset cruise. I had a good time in the cruise. They provided us with free flow of orang juice and kek lapis. Oran utan conservatory was a good experience. They were so lany oran utan came out.

      Kayaking trip
Easy kayaking down river. We were well looked after. Prompt pick up. Friendly guides and driver. Saw some monkeys and sea eagle with snake in mouth. Lunch good. Climbed up small inlet river to waterfall and also swam in river. Cool temperature and fun.

      Fun, relaxing and different
We had a great day although our backs were a bit tired at the end of the day. Scenery was great. An extra special inclusion was the photos sent to us at the end of the day at no charge. Memories to cherish.

Fantastic day of kayaking with spectacular views
This was my second time doing the kayaking trip and this time it was pouring rain and we absolutely loved the view in the rain. It felt like we were experiencing the "real" Borneo in the rain with mist all over the hills! I recommend this trip to everyone who visits Kuching!

      Kayaking with a view
Before going on this day trip, Audrey was very prompt and kind with my enquiries about the details and what to bring for kayaking. Signing up for the trip was very easy too. We got picked up by Mr Asin right from our accommodation's doorstep and overall it was a fun and amazing experience! Because we went on 26 Dec, which is a holiday in Kuching, many of the residents at the longhouses were at home and they were very friendly and even had us sit down and try some of their food! Lunch was also cooked at home by a local and we felt the love that went into preparing the food. My father and I felt safe throughout the kayaking. We kayaked for 2 hours (11km) and it felt too short because of the fun and the views we had. Highly recommend this adventure! (We signed up for package C.)

      Incredible Experience!!
This was my second time going to Kuching with a primary goal of Kayaking through the jungle and it didn't disappoint. The experience is absolutely amazing and what tops it off for me is the great pictures they take for you so can just enjoy the experience and wait for the dropbox email filled with outstanding memories!

Steep price tag for decent activities
We had fantastic customer service who responded to our late night texts for more information, helpful driver who is local and was conversant in both English and Malay, and kayak guides who were experienced and clearly knew their stuff. But I would not be honest if I say this was worth the price tag of RM 285 per person: Semenggor Orang Utan Sanctuary: The tour's driver took us to the sanctuary, gave us the tickets and basically left us to our own devices thereafter. I'm not saying that there's more that the driver could've done, but if you have a valid driving licence and could navigate with Google Maps or Waze, there would be no reason for anyone to pay for a tour to see the orang utans. The instructor who did all the explaining about orang utans was from the sanctuary for which the entrance fee was RM 10 each (for foreigners) and RM 5 (for locals). Anna Rais Longhouse: Here, our driver doubled as our tour guide. We had some shots of rice wine which was inexpensive (RM 10 - 12 a bottle). Our driver then took us around the longhouse and gave some introduction and took photos for us as we walked. It was a shame that the driver couldn't provide more explanation than the most basic information about the longhouse and the Bidayuh culture that one could easily find from the internet. It felt like we could've simply driven here and did the visit on our own without needing a tour. Lunch Our lunch was prepared by our driver's sister and was as simple as it can be i.e. 3 dishes and some curry puffs and that was it. Wasn't even worth the time reviewing. Kayaking Absolutely no complaints here. The nature of the activity required experienced guides/instructors who, in our case, did an amazing job looking after us, besides taking plenty of decent photos. Unless you're some kayak veteran or are familiar with the rivers, I would not recommend doing this on your own. All in all, I would suggest that if you're interested in doing all of the aforementioned activities, you probably don't need to pay for a tour save for the kayaking experience. The tour doesn't add any value to your experiences that if you get there by yourself.

Fun but be aware of the sand flies
The scenery and activities are fun. My kids love it. The guide also friendly and 3 guide for 8 of us. They took us photos and send us via dropbox the next 2 days. Love this service provide to us. The lunch is simple. The only sad thing is the apparently the guide know there are sand flies at the areas they stop for swimming. The guide didn't inform us and only mentioned it when we are about to leave. At the end, 4 of us bitten by the sand flies till need to see doctor. what's a disappointment.

      Amazing experience
We went during low season so there were only the 2 of us so it’s more like a private trip with 2 guides going along with us. The experience was amazing. The water was higher during low season so it wasn’t too tiring to kayak. We got to kayak into a small stream off the main river which ended with a waterfall. Totally unexpected! Water in the river was cold and extremely refreshing so we didnt feel hot at all despite being directly under the sun for 3 hours. The whole atmosphere was very serene and chill. We also saw several monkeys and a monitor lizard crossing the river. Would really recommend going during a low season ie nov-jan so its less crowded and have higher water so you dont have to work so hard. One thing though, thr were a lot of sand flies at the last stop where we got to swim so be careful and apply insect repellent beforehand.

Sungei Kiri Sarawak - Bengoh to Semadang
Well worthwhile. Like a private tour with only the 2 of us for the kayaking. Easy going kayaking down the river mostly aided by the guide's paddling. They brought us to a small waterfall. Prior to making the booking, our queries were promptly responded to. The 3 brothers (guides and driver) made our trip truly an enjoyable experience.

A great day out of town on the river
This is a great day out of the city with a 1 hour drive into the country to the starting point. We were worried as we are not fit and in out late 50's-early 60's, but it is fairly easy as you are paddling downstream with no strong currents or serious rapids - perfect for beginners! The river was a bit low as the rainy season was still to start and we had to maneuver around the shallows from time to time. The three brothers looked after us and learnt a bit about county living and features along the way. The stop for lunch at a village was fine - simple food bit tasty. They take photos as you go so no need for your own camera. Was a great day with very friendly people.

      Great Day Out
If you fancy doing something a bit different this is a really great day out. We did Package B which was Semenggoh and Kayaking. Don’t be put off by the Kayaking the guides are excellent and are always on hand the help you out Also, as it was torrential rain in the morning and we didn’t see any Orangutangs they offered to drop us back off at the sanctuary on the way back so we could, which was really nice of them Don’t get me wrong... it’s not a easy morning but the efforts and the aches are worth it

      Wonderful time
Had an absolutely wonderful time from seeing orangutans, one with a baby, to an excellent lunch followed by canoeing for a couple of hours. It was so peaceful. The guides, who are all brothers, were very helpful and informative. Would definitely recommend this trip. Change of clothes is essential but not heavy boots. Only thing I would change would be to bring flip flops or water shoes for the walk to the canoe through some stones which were painful and slippy.

      Rainforest Kayaking
Our family had a great day paddling down the river. Our 8 year old daughter rode with a guide and had a blast. Lunch at the village was delicious. We stopped at Semenggoh first in the morning, which worked out well as I would not want to make a trip out there alone. The guides took photos all day which we were able to download afterwards.

      A brilliant day out!
We recently did the Package C day trip which included a trip to the Semenggoh Wildlife Reserve, followed by kayaking 14 kilometres along beautiful rainforest river, a buffet lunch and then a tour of the Annah Rais Longhouse, which was really interesting. We were picked up from our hotel in Kuching and given the most amazing day out by a very knowledgeable guide. All aspects of this tour were amazing and we were very impressed with this company and the good value the trip represented. We would highly recommend this tour company.

Organized a weekend with 9 friends from Singapore, and couldn't be easier with the exceptional service we were given.
We were collected by our friendly driver on Saturday morning from Kuching centre. The group was shown around Semenggoh orangutan sanctuary where we saw wild orangutans feeding. The driver was so helpful to drop and collect one of our group to clinic when they had medical emergency, so they could continue on weekend.
We then drove to kayak start point where we were guided along beautiful jungle scenery on the river. We stopped at a local village for a nice lunch and tour around.
The kayaking trip ended in the afternoon and the driver met us again to take us to Anna Rais longhouse. After a short drive we were dropped to door of Macheree Homestay in the Anna Rais longhouse community and were greeted by our very welcoming family. A nice surprise was that we had the top level of the house to our group. After freshening up and shown to our rooms (basic but clean and comfortable), the owner gave us an outline of our itinerary at the longhouse and a thorough tour of the unique community. During the evening we were served plentiful local food for dinner, drank local rice wine and were treated to local music and dancers, which we got to join in.
Sunday morning after breakfast, we geared up for a jungle hike to a magnificent waterfall. We really enjoyed swimming and basking in the beauty while our guides cooked up a wonderful bamboo picnic lunch. Our family then took us to a further excursion in the afternoon to two wild swimming locations in fresh water and hot springs. The driver collected us for a quick transfer to Kuching airport for our flight back in evening. A very memorable day!

Overall, the whole weekend was packed with very unique experiences, and everything was organised seamlessly for us. Rucksack make it easy, with all of this in one booking. Perfect weekend for friends/family who are adventurous and would like to explore some of real Borneo through activities.

We had a perfect 2D1N trip with Rucksack Kayaking! It was literally everything we were looking for!

The trip started with a visit to the Orangutan Sanctuary, where we were lucky to see one female. Then, we were transported to the kayaks. The kayaking was very peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed spending time outside without any other tourists in sight. Also, the food we got for lunch was basic, but delicious!

Then, we were brought to our homestay. The homestay was by far the best homestay I have ever done. The host family was very very (!) friendly and welcoming. He spoke perfect English, so he could explain everything we wanted to know. We were also invited to a family gathering which was very interesting. Half of the village assembled to pray for a sick member and heaps of food was served afterwards. The people were all so warm-hearted and kind. We really enjoyed their company. Thank you!

The next day, we hiked to a waterfall with the host. Also very beautiful with no other people around! He cooked lunch for us on the open fire with bamboo and it was yummy!
The transport back to Kuching also worked without problems and we were back in time..

All in all, I would really recommend this package. Obviously, you should not expect a luxury stay. There are quite a lot of insects and everything is rather basic. But in my opinion, that makes the experience even better (and a lot more adventurous). Also, it was so nice to be in the village / rainforests without the crowd of tourists you would normally expect. So, if you're looking for an authentic 2-days trip around Kuching, this is the thing to do!

I'm so glad that you had an enjoyable time. I love the host family at the homestay too. They are just so hospitable and friendly. Glad to hear that they invited you to their family gathering. It is very rare for anyone to be invited to their event. Also, thank you so much for your review and have a wonderful and safe journey in your next destination.
