My hubby and I met our guide at a train station Outside of the centre of KL and he first took us to a nearby bustling Malay street food court where we sampled delicious small portions. Then onto Chinese food courts, and finally Indian delicacies. All interspersed with some guided sight seeing which of course is so different at night. It was a wonderful way to spend 4 hours and a great introduction to KL and the foods of Malaysia.

If you want to learn about the cultural and history behind what the locals in KL eat then this is your tour! Wonderful food served at Malay; Malay Chinese and Malay Indian food neighborhood restaurants and night markets.
Food at our destinations was prepared upon our arrival - fresh- and to our spicy specifications. While we like spicy nothing served was so spicy that it detracted from experiencing the new foods and flavors.
PACE yourself. Don’t fill up on your first stop because there are so many more tasty bites to try at the next neighborhood.
Bonus: Our guide gave us great historical and cultural info about the city as we drove to our 3 stops.

Such a great tour! Highly recommend.

I went back in January 2020 with my friend who had been living in KL since August. The food was great, of course, but our guide, Ken, really made the experience. He was courteous, funny, and knowledgable, and I felt like he really enjoyed sharing his favorite spots and meeting new people.

Make sure to show up hungry and to pace yourself so that you're not stuffed before the last stop!

Our tour guide was informative and very friendly. We made about 3 or 4 stops for Chinese, Indian and traditional Malaysian food. The tour lasted about 3 or so hours with minimal walking. It would still be a good idea to wear comfy shoes. We met friendly locals and asked tons of questions on culture. It was by far one of the best tours in KL we went on!

If I can provide any tips I would suggest to arrive on an empty stomach! There is so much great food to taste with large portions. :)

Timothy was a great guide, who also safely drove us to each location. The amount of food was insane. Come hungry! The location of the first stop is a little out of town, but it's an authentic Malaysian eatery. I love that the Chinese stop follows the Chinese market. Having visited from China for CNY, I did not want Chinese food. I already have that! However, the sour noodle soup we ate at the Chinese market was one of the best bowls of noodles I've ever had! Lastly, my only complaint was that we couldn't spend 3+ hours at the Indian restaurant. So delicious! He even took us to the city center at the end of the night. It was a great time. Well worth it. Thanks!

If you want a legitimate local food experience, this is it!! Ken was our outstanding and personable guide for the evening. We made three stops at local eateries in Petaling Jaya - one Malay, one Chinese and the other Indian -- so you get to sample all the local flavors. Come hungry!!!! No joke there was tons of food to be had. Highly recommend for anyone interested in a "real" experience outside the normal tourist spots in KL proper.

Yesterday we had a wonderful streetfood tour wird Ken. I had high expectations in advance but Ken exceeded them by far. There were so many delicious dishes that we were not capable to decide which was best. And above all Ken gave us a charming inside in malaysian culture. Ken, thanks for this amazing evening.
And to our american group: Its been a great pleasure meeting you. If you ever come over to Europe contact me and we will have a nice wine tasting. Oliver.mckenzie@kds-kg.

This was a great exploration of the three main local cuisines. A side of KL you could not experience without a guide. And what a guide! Ken was passionate about his subject and engaged warmly with each member of our group. It’s one of the best guided tours I’ve done

Sad to say this was the worst food tour we have ever been on in Asia and believe me we have on many.. It stared with a 25minuite train ride to the suburbs. And then spent more time in in a mini bus than tasting real food. Tour started at 7pm and finished ar 11.30pm , 3 food stops really. More time spent driving than Tati g the local cuisine , china town ( no where near it) little India no where near it.( Indian taste was bread and sauces, no food!)
Sorry to say stay away stay away unless you like spending the night in a mini bus ! Get a real food tour.

Hi Frank, thank you for your comments. We're sorry you did not think it's value for money. We take your comments seriously, and strive to always improve our services to customers. Therefore, we appreciate your feedback! Having said that, I would also like to take the opportunity to highlight 3 points based on your reviews, after investigating with our guides and the other customers in our tours. -The 25 minutes ride to the suburbs that you mentioned is not part of the tour. We require guests to arrive at the meeting point by 7pm and you were late therefore you missed one stop. -There were 4x food stops throughout the tour including a night market. -We spent about 30-40 minutes altogether in the 4+ hours in the vehicle going from one point to the other. Our tours are locally bred and we only go to places where locals go, therefore no tourist traps! We apologise that this did not meet your expectations. Safe travels.

I was in KL for a stop over, had short time and found quite overwhelming trying to find good spots to eat (so many options!). The tour was great, we tried foods from local Malay, Chinese and Indian cuisine. Our guide Timothy was very knowledgeable and I am so impressed with his fluent Cantonese! We felt safe the whole time and the food was incredible, tasting so many things I have never tried before! He drove us around the suburbs and there where no tourists in sight. Overall I had a very pleasant evening and I was so full by the end of the tour.
