About the operator
Don’t take it from us – here’s what people have to say about this operator:
- Christian H0 contributionsGreat host, great beerLevy was an excellent host and guide. I was actually alone on the tour with him, so we had a lot of talks and even played some boardgames in one of the locations. He is good friends with most of the owners of the places. The food was good and plenty enough. There was something to eat in every place. And most importantly the beer was excellent!Written 2 September 2024
- Road020927435510 contributionsA wonderful day tripWho would want to get around Hiroshima without a bike on such a hot day? It was perfect, thank you Awaiz for making yourself available onshort notice. Father and sons enjoyed it thoroughly, including the speeding back from station - always before the traffic lights turned red again ;-)Written 26 July 2024
- 254villas0 contributionsDeath traps, no brakes and seats rotateThese Mobiry hire bikes are death traps! The brakes on the electric bikes don't work and the seats rotate. These bikes are unsafe. I advised the Mobiry and was fobbed off! Beware of hiring dangerous, Mobiry electric bikes, if you hit someone because they are faulty, good luck there! Mobiry don't seem to care.Written 25 March 2024
- Jacqustar0 contributionsPut this on your To Do ListOur guide Aidan was an incredible wealth of information. So grateful for his knowledge. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this cycle tour and highly recommend it to anyone wanting a great overview of this fascinating city.Written 17 November 2023
- Parent_traveler0 contributionsWonderful way to see Hiroshima Peace Park, and all of the surrounding historical sitesMy 22-year-old daughter and I met in central Hiroshima at the agreed meeting point and had a wonderful time with the bike tour guide Levi. He took us through various neighborhoods and also to several shrines and temples across Hiroshima. We also rode through Peace Park, and were able to view many of the tragic sites and uplifting monuments around the area. Riding through Hiroshima on a bike is truly a wonderful way to see so many sites and monuments that you normally would not see as quickly and as intimately either than on foot or a tour bus. Biking through Hiroshima was definitely a way to go and would recommend this tour to any older teens and/or adults. Anyone who can confidently ride a bike, allowing for dismounting and stopping regularly is a good candidate for this tour. Would definitely recommend this bike tour. I will suggest doing this tour to friends and colleagues who visit Hiroshima.Written 4 October 2023
- andrewsM8976ME0 contributionsTwo families and two generations explore HiroshimaWe did afternoon bike tour of Hiroshima … the peace park, the castle the garden. Lindsey the tour guide us a Brit living in Japan for >5 years. Great historical information as well as current day cultural. Perfect pace and brought appropriate level if gravitas to history of the bombing and effects on community. Everyone loved it!!!Written 9 June 2023
- Carlattexdd0 contributionsGreat tour with PeterJoined a tour with Peter and he was fantastic. One of the most memorable tours we’ve ever done. He was a great storyteller. He gave us a balanced overview of the city sharing the tragedy and the resilience as well as the other parts that define Hiroshima - the Carps baseball team, the music scene and okonomiyaki. He also clearly was knowledgeable - being able to answer our follow-up questions (some tour guides we’ve had over the years can only recite what they prepared)Written 30 March 2023
- Victoria S0 contributionsGreat tour!My husband and I love using food tours to explore a new city. This one was exceptional! It was wonderful to explore the local food scene and learn about the city's history and culture. We highly recommend this tour to others visiting Hiroshima!Written 23 November 2020
- lisarH4213YD0 contributionsBest way to do Hiroshima!!We did the Hiroshima Half Tour with Peter and wow what an experience, he is so passionate and knowledgeable about everything, the things you get to see and hear about while cycling around is amazing, admittedly we did shed a few tears along with him while he was telling us it’s history, after the guided cycle we walked back to the peace park and went to the museum which you don’t get to do on the cycle tour. FYI we got our hotel guest service lady to write the address down in Japanese so that the taxi driver could drop us off at the meeting point only because we had no idea where we were going! The tour starts in a little side street next to the Organic Kitchen and Cafe so if you find that you know you’re in the right place, Happy Cycling its so worth it!!Written 18 January 2020
- georgied810 contributionsWonderful bike tourWe were very fortunate to have our own private morning bike ride with Kevin. He showed us all the important historical sites and answered all our questions. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the history and culture of Hiroshima. The bikes provided the perfect way to get around the city and see all the sites at a comfortable pace in just a few hours. On top of this Kevin really went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay in Hiroshima, and you could tell he was very passionate about the area, even suggesting great viewpoints and a place for dinner (both of which were brilliant). He was overall incredibly friendly and personable and we would definitely recommend as a nice change of pace from the other walking tours we had been doing across Japan.Written 19 September 2019
- Vanessa V0 contributionsExcellent tour of Hiroshima's rich historyOur guide was Peter - it was very clear to see that he is passionate about Hiroshima and sharing it's beautiful journey toward the city of peace that it now is. We learned so much Peter. Biking around the city was a great way to get from site to site and Peter really filled in the gaps that are left after reading the signs at each of the historical sites. I would highly recommend this tour to every single person visiting Hiroshima - young, old and everyone in between!Written 16 June 2019
- RamblinRose760 contributionsBeautiful Day in HiroshimaThis tour is highly recommended if you'd like to see a lot of the sights in Hiroshima, while giving your feet a rest from all the miles they get walking while sightseeing in Japan. You never know what kind of bikes you'll end up with in any given day bike tour, but these bikes were great quality, very comfortable bikes. That said, you never really need to change gears anyway because Hiroshima was flat, and so this riding is very easy and possible for anyone. We were really lucky to get Peter as our guide because he was so generous to us with his time and his knowledge and that made the tour so much more rewarding. You will experience the important peace garden sights, learn a ton, and get to cruise along Hiroshima's lovely river bike paths.Written 4 June 2019
- Lauren C0 contributionsAmazing tourThis is the second time I have toured with this company and it has been amazing. This company takes you on a tour that tells you all the important history about Hiroshima and all the little things a person would miss. I really enjoyed my tour and if I was to come back to Japan I would use this company. Some of my best tours ever.Written 1 June 2019

He was incredibly informative and really replaced all the information in the museum he was so knowledgeable! I would recommend this to everyone of all cycling standards, really cruisey, and great value Thanks Peter..... go the carps !!!Written 30 May 2019

Guided by Peter - fabulous. Genuinely engaged guide with personal interest in Hiroshima’s history and future, a wonderful story teller who provided us with a unique and moving perspective on this city. Highly recommended. Very easy riding, my (sporty) 11 year old loved it.

Being on a bike you will feel like a tourist but with that being said it is an amazing way to see Hiroshima. Our guide gave us a great rundown of all the historical sites in Hiroshima. I would recommend this to someone who is only in Hiroshima for the day or on your first day in the city as you will cover a lot of ground

If you only had one day to see Hiroshima, this is a good way to see it no matter how good your biking skill. This tour takes you to some of the most important highlights of the city. It does not include entry into the Hiroshima Museum, but there is plenty of time after the tour to see it- and it’s just a short walk from the end of the tour. Overall, we had a lot of fun seeing the city on two wheels!

Exploring Hiroshima by bike was a great way to understand the city and visit many of the historical sites throughout the morning. Our guide Ali was so knowledgeable about the area and helpful making sure our group stayed together and hydrated in the summer heat! I would highly recommend starting your trip in Hiroshima with this tour before exploring the museum and other sites on your own.

I was glad this tour took place, as on the previous days the bike tours in other cities were often cancelled due to rainy weather forecasts. As the main attractions of Hiroshima are all over the city, visiting them by feet might take the whole day. So, this bike tour is very convenient and you will get lots of advice on what to do in Hiroshima for the rest of your stay.

We did a day trip to Hiroshima from Osaka using the bullet train. I am travelling with my 11 year old daughter. She is quite mature for her age and while moved my the content of the tour, was able to process it. It has lead to some important conversations since. The bikes were a great way of getting around the area The bikes were well maintained and it was very easy cycling. Our guide was a great speaker and story teller. He used a good mix of harrowing truth; stories of individuals and communities affected and the recovery, hope and peace movement that followed. I highly recommend this tour.

Astonishingly brilliant tour guide Peter took our breath away with his spell-binding accounts of historically accurate descriptions of what happened before, on and after 6 August. You’ll need the rest of the day to take in what youve learnt. Thanks so much Peter!

Myself & my Husband only had a day in Hiroshima so decided to do a bike tour to see the highlights. We made a great choice with these guys, our guide was Kevin, his knowledge & passion for the history of Hiroshima & Japanese culture was brilliant, he was able to answer questions and share his knowledge in such a comfortable way, the whole tour was like having a chat - so informative but not scripted.
We learnt & saw loads in our 3.5 hour tour, bikes were very easy to ride, no hills or tricky terrain.
Great value for money definitely exceeded our expectations.

Our tour guide was extremely knowledgable, friendly, and happy to take questions throughout. It is clear that this is his calling, as when I went to the museum afterwards, it felt like a glance across some of he more in-depth presentations we had received on very detailed parts of the history. I told my hostel buddy to go and they said the same: cannot recommend enough!

We took the Bullet train from Kyoto to Hiroshima. We booked first class and had great seats, specious, visibility and power for laptops and iPhones. You need to take food and beverages with you. They have tray tables. Hiroshima: We bought the one day bus passes for the Orange/green/yellow bus routes and stayed on for the whole journey to get our bearings before getting off and doing our own walking tour. It's very easy to do. Sadly the Museum was closed for changes of exhibits. But there was enough to see and do with the main attractions. It's worth visiting the Castle as it has its own Museum and a top floor viewing balcony. the gardens have exhibits too. A day was enough for us.
