The food (and sake) was outstanding, and the first bar we visited was incredible - small, intimate, and the Okonomiyaki was fantastic. I would never have had the confidence to enter a bar in Japan with so few seats!Written 3 October 2024

He was a very interesting guide with excellent English and took us to some beautiful and interesting off the beaten track places on Miyajima that we wouldn't have found ourselves. - hartiganhm0 contributionsBeautiful location and excellent tour guide! This tour Miyajima was a great experience! I forget our guide's name, but he was incredibly friendly and engaging with the entire group. Some of the photos he took of me our my favorites from the trip! Even though the weather was hot, he got us water, navigated shady locations, and ensured we had time to rest and enjoy the sights. This was a highlight of my time in Hiroshima and I would highly recommend it to others traveling!Written 27 September 2024

- KelsiMiya0 contributionsFood and bar tour in HiroshimaMy husband and I had only one night in Hiroshima and we are very glad that we booked this tour. Hika was an amazing host and so fun to talk to. All the food and drinks we had were amazing, and we appreciated stopping into izakayas that catered more to locals rather than tourists. Highly recommend booking this tour and we recommend you request Hika as your tour guide.Written 25 September 2024
- Flabbergast520 contributionsA worth-while experience - highly recommended! We had three stops - one typical bar with local Hiroshima food (just six seats, we filled it almost completely), then a sake trial with 12 different sakes (still feeling somewhat dizzy from it) and in the end a very special sushi bar with fish we had never tried before. Rio was a very pleasant hostess who told us all sorts of stories about Hiroshima and herself, a very entertaining evening! Highly recommended!Written 22 September 2024
- ililiiililill0 contributionsGet the inside track!Miyajima is a very spiritual place with lots of meaning and sure you can come here and stumble around and enjoy it on your own, or you can book this tour and go with Yuji and get the inside track and learn the ins and outs from a local’s perspective.Written 22 September 2024

We enjoyed the tour, but didn't find our guide to be that knowledgeable. My friend and I had done a lot of research/read up before the tour, and she couldn't answer the majority of our questions. They also left us alone for 1.5 hrs, with no audio guide, once you get to the museum. We had to buy our own audio guide for the museum. We also felt rushed to finish at the end, as the group had to meet up at 12. So for a 4 hr "tour" - they left us alone for quite a bit. Again we enjoyed it enough, but it was not worth the $80/person price.

Yuji spent all morning and into the afternoon with us sharing his knowledge of Hiroshima. He never rushed us and told us personal family stories as a way of further humanizing the impacts that the atomic bomb had on his city. I described this tour to my friends as “somber and sobering, yet filled with hope that we can find peace in this world”.
It was great to have Yuji snap some “couples photos” along the way. They will become part of our “Japan 2020” album, for sure!
Though the museum can be seen on your own, seeing Hiroshima with a local tour guide definitely allows you to see more of the city than just the museum and the Peace Park. There is also the human story side that made the tour extremely memorable.
And you get free recommendations for Ramen restaurants! We LOVED the place Yuji pointed us to 🤗

We spent an afternoon touring the Peace Memorials, and really came away with a new appreciation for both the tragedy and the perseverance of Hiroshima. As Americans, we were slightly apprehensive about what we'd encounter in Hiroshima, but every single person we interacted with was generous, gracious and kind - it is truly an incredible place. Our guide Yuji was incredibly knowledgable, helpful and friendly throughout the tour. He offered very valuable insights, provided great tips for the remainder of out time in the city and in Japan overall, and was generally a very pleasant companion for the afternoon. While the subject matter was obviously very heavy at times, he did a great job of offering constructive perspective and also incorporating a healthy amount of positivity with regard to the city's resurgence and its bright prospects for the future. We learned a great deal over the course of the tour - it was more than worth the cost, and I would recommend it to anybody.

We had a great tour with Yuki and learned so much because of her. She took time to explain and show the important and additional details of Hiroshima, which we noticed with her guidance.
She's thoughtful and personable and took the time to ensure we had a good experience. She bought our tickets to the Peace Memorial when it opened / before the start of the tour so we could skip the huge queue when we arrived. She always called us by our names and gave everyone a handmade gift at the end of the tour.
It was touching to hear her views of such a horrific event and how it affected her family. But she always made us smile and made sure we had a memorable experience. We found the last part of the tour fun, making paper cranes and seeing great views from the Ozizuru tower.
Yuki's English was very good, and I recommend this tour to anyone looking to learn more about Hiroshima.

Everything was excellent. But in my opinion you should anticipate the visit on the outside, have lunch, and then you leave the persons in the museum, that has to be the last one.
The ability to manage the emotions in such a museum is very different from person to person, better not to force individuals to join a group after.

Our guide, Momoka, was helpful & knowledgeable. It was fun overall despite the obvious solemn nature especially in the Memorial Museum. Momoka was also caring. I’m allergic to shrimp & she made sure that the okonomiyaki that I got for lunch would be safe especially since that was the first time I had okonomiyaki. The origami crane folding session was also quite fun. Definitely, a nice tour.

I highly recommend the Hiroshima Peace (Heiwa) Walking Tour to anyone who would like to learn about Hiroshima bombing history.
The guide, Yuji has much experience and knowledge. He could share the bombing stories of his family and the people in Hiroshima with you.
I had a great time especially talking over lunch with Yuji at the top of Orizuru Tower, the last place we visited. It was very much appreciated to answer all my questions that I had been wondering for a long time.

We had Yuji as our tour guide, and this tour was one of the best I've been on throughout my travels! He makes it so personal, but still allows you the freedom to explore on your own and at your own pace. We were in a larger group, and Yuji still managed to remember each of us/our names/our background. He is a quality tour guide and you can tell he has a passion to share his city's history with the world. The itinerary doesnt even explain all the places he takes you -- I felt like we received a full city tour in half a day! I never once felt uncomfortable in his presence; he makes you feel right at home and well taken care of. He also had amazing food recommendations and took the absolute best pictures of us throughout the tour (even on the 4 story slide!); we received them in under an hour after the tour! 10/10 tour, will definitely recommend it to friends and family!! Thanks so much Yuji 💕
