We booked this as a group activity but there was only the 2 of us on it as it was low season so in effect we got a private tour. Michael Kurahashi - our guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating. In addition to the tour attractions I wanted to know more about Shinto and he was very helpful with background info. I highly recommend this bike trip as it was a very good way to see the sites. You will cover much more than a walking tour and it's much nicer than whizzing by on a coach. Kyoto is a little hilly in places so if you are not used to cycling you may find some of the roads a little challenging but other than that it was wonderful.

Thank you for your review, dto1701! We are grateful to hear that you had a wonderful time in Kyoto and had an unique experience on a bike with our knowledgeable guide, Michael! Yes, indeed. Riding a bike along side of Kamo river is so breezy and nice place to be refreshed! Hope to see you again soon next time you visit to Kyoto. Once again, thank you very much for booking our tour and enjoy for the rest of your trip! Kinya

I was in Kyoto on the way to Osaka from Tokyo but wanted to see Kyoto as I had heard so much about it from friends who had been. I only had the morning free and it was perfect for what i wanted. I saw all the places that I wanted to see all within 3 hours. Kohei was a great guide and very knowledgeable about Kyoto. Kyoto was relatively flat so its ok to navigate. Rained a bit but still fun.

I'd definitely recommend this bike tour, nice balance of cycling through interesting areas and stopping at the normal Temple and Shrine circuit.
Sean was an excellent guide half Japanese, having lived most of his life in England apart from the last 10 years in Kyoto, so some great insights into both cultures as well as the city and history
It rained a fair amount but we were given weather proof ponchos and for me this meant the temperature was very comfortable
As i say great tour, great guide and great fun

We had a fantastic bike-trip with Kyoto Urban Adventurs! Our guide Ryo was so friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic that time just flew away! She showed us a list of beautiful temples, shrines, sights, nature and offered us tea and cake too! She told us about Kyoto history, culture, religion and little known facts about Kyoto. Thank you so much Ryo!! All the best Rasmus and Tanja (from Denmark)

Our Tour was wonderful and can highly recommend doing this if coming to Kyoto. We got to do pilgrim path and a few shrines and temples along the way. This is the absolute best way to see Kyoto because you cover so much more ground then walking. We did about 15ks total and the tour guide was wonderful ! Thankyou so much!!

Thank you Sean for an awesome tour!! Very good selection of sights and very informative, inviting us to dessert was a nice thing and really delicious treat. Sean is an excellent tour guide and also sent us an email with the places visited and the typical candy we ate.

We had an amazing time seeing and learning about Kyoto on this bike tour! We covered so much ground and got to explore neighborhoods and back roads we never would have found on our own, in addition to learning so much about the shrines, temples and sites we visited. Our tour guide, Yuta, was fantastic and knew so much about the city and the history and details of each place we visited; he was extremely professional and we felt safe biking through even the busiest parts of town with him in the lead. This was one of the best parts of our entire 2-week trip to Japan - we highly recommend this tour!!

Yuta was excellent, very knowledgeable, easy to understand and great variety of Kyoto sights. The cycling tour was an excellent way to see the city, we stayed off the main roads and went along the river bank and mostly back streets. We loved hearing the differences between the Shrines and the Temples, all about the Gion area, Geisha and Miako. Traditional stories about the history of the Shrines dotted on each corner. It was a shame it rained very heavily towards the end but didn't deter from the enjoyment of the trip. (In that heat we dried out in about 15 mins) Thank you Yuta. I hope the American family that we meet in the gondola on the ropeway in Hakone did the tour with you. Your business card was handed on.
