Excellent tour! 最高なツアーでした!
Mar 2021
Hashimoto-san showed me around in the old traditional Sake making district Fushimi and explained me a lot about the Sake making process. I could also visit a bar where I could compare several Sakes. Pretty loved this place!
In the end I could try out which sake kind suit the best to which dish or snacks. I definitely recommend this tour, you can take your time and enjoy! Very friendly people! Also recommended for people traveling alone.

My third time with this group! Completely recommend!!
Apr 2021 • Friends
This is a must-do experience in Kyoto. The best part of the tour is that while there is tasting, there is also so much history and knowledge you acquire along the way. This was my third time doing an experience with Kotaro-san and it was completely exceptional! Every time I have attended one of his experiences, I have learned so much about sake and also cultural relevancy in Japan. I cannot recommend this tour enough. My first experience was a solo one, the second with three friends (heavy drinkers who enjoyed themselves) and the third time was with friends who are less drinking-oriented and more interested in the historical components of the tour. Kotaro-san tailored each tour to the energy of the group I brought with us and I CANNOT wait to come back with my husband next time. 100% recommend, hands down the best tour in Kyoto!

Great sake tour!
Jan 2020
I recommend this tour for those that skeptical about sake. Our guide, Kotaro, was a great host and he was very professional and knowledgeable. We had a great evening and food pairing session that help us understand how to enjoy the different types of this traditional beverage.

I booked this tour during their slow season and the beginning stages of Covid-19 so I ended up being the only person on the tour. It was fantastic! My guide Kotaro Hashimoto was very kind and informative, I learned so much from him. He gave me a handy 'cheat sheet' to take with me for the rest of my time in Japan so help me buy Sake. He also took the time to send me his ppt on everything I learned from class. He taught me about 'mouth mixing' and opened my eyes to the hard work Sake takes, 10/10 would recommend!

Awesome way to discover Sake
Jun 2019
Awesome tour! I'm not a sake drinker (always thought I hate it), but I couldn't leave Japan without tasting some of it, obviously and I'm so glad I joined this tour. Kotaro was so informative and the tasting was amazing. He showed us that sake is so complex and there is one for everyone's tasting. If you're in Kyoto, please don't hesitate to join this tour.

Interesting introduction to sake
Mar 2020 • Couples
Kotaro and Mayo were very informative about the processes of making sake and the different types of sake. It was very interesting to do the tasting session and see how different sale could taste depending on the food it was paired with. As someone unable to read Japanese and with little knowledge of sake I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone considering it. Thank you!

Knowledge is Everything!
So very glad I chose this tour. I had no knowledge of the creative process required for sake production. Kotaro painstakingly walked us through the entire “brewing” procedure and the differences among the many types of sake created with different rices, percentages of polishing, pasteurization or not, mold mixtures....... But then you get to taste the differences, first without any food and then later paired with different flavors which, of course, changes the tastings. A great tour/tasting experience.

Informative tour
Very informative tour and tasting. The guide, Kotaro, spoke perfect English and was very knowledgeable.
The regular museum was closed (like most of Japan at the moment) but we still managed to visit another brewery instead. The tastings were great - very different styles of Sake - and good tips for food pairings. After this tour and tasting I feel as though I may stand some chance of knowing what I’m ordering now!
