I waited for tour ban bus at indicated place, i.e. Wayang St. near one temple, and meeting time am 9:00. I reached in this meeting place before 7 minutes before am 9:00. But, I could not find tour ban bus. It was rainy. Sure, one ban bus through this Wayang street about 9:00 am and it turned left road in front of temple with driver watching me. My reservation reference is Booking ref: BR-76934670, Tour operator: Urban Adventures Malaysia. Tour company product code: MUKA, and tour optional code: MKUA-1543. Tour company confirm number: 657005. I have already paid tour cost ¥4,950 in my credit card. This mismatching responsibility need to take your tour company. At least, I reached in meeting place before 9:00 am. So, would you refund tour cost to my credit card. I would like to get your response as soon as possible. Now, I send this email from notebook computer. From my mobile phone, it is difficult for me to reply against your response. Please consider about this mismatching. - Paul A0 contributionsGood eats and good company!I was lucky to have a solo tour with Jeffrey (apparently Mondays aren't as heavily trafficked). As a food tour guide in Shanghai, I naturally have high expectations for the tour. Jeffrey was personable and easy to get a long with - a local and musician with a lot of interesting stories that allows you to really ground yourself in the city. The food was fantastic - the beverages, too! The spots we ate at were places I never would have found myself, through beautiful parts of the city. I was also impressed with the food knowledge and history I was given - contextualizing the food within the local culture and history is amazing. Overall, this is a must in KL - highly recommend!Written 6 February 2020
- Kate M0 contributionsExcellent insight into Penang's foodie cultureWe were delighted to find that we were the only two people booked on the trip when we met up with our lovely guide Poh. Along the way Poh gave us loads of interesting information about Penang's culture, history and street art. The tour took us to various different locations including local coffee shops, street markets, the wet market, a bakery and Malaysian and Indian style restaurants which were all fantastic. Poh sought our feedback on the dishes and quality and explained that she is continually quality testing out the stops to ensure that they are offering the best examples of Penang's classic dishes. After the tour ended, Poh also took us down to the coffee and chocolate museum after my partner expressed interest in buying some lollies for his kids - this was great and we appreciated Poh taking us there and even showing us around the shop. We did this tour from a cruise ship and it was an easy walk for us from the ship to the meeting point with plenty of time to spare after the tour to have a look around Penang on our own. Highly recommend this for people with limited time in Penang and who are less familiar with the local foods on offer.Written 29 January 2020
- Michalina K0 contributionsThe best way to start the visit of KLTook the KL Food Experience with Jeff as a guide. Wonderful tour - the food was great and so was Jeff! This is a perfect start to your stay in KL. Variety of food from different cultures and interested stories. Absolutely worth the price - delicious inclusions and a guide who gives you a feel of being taken on a walk with a friendWritten 8 January 2020
- Quest8122570 contributionsHuge thanks to Estee for the tour this morning.A little apprehensive for a single traveller for the first time in Asia, Estee was the most woderful guide and filled me to overflowing with confidence to step out to the markets and embrace the local food and culture. I experienced a kind of "reverse racism" insofar as the locals would call out ... several times ... "hello" to me as we rode by - how absolutely fantastic. May be because it was a Saturday, but we came across several outside and market karaokes - I wasn't that full of confidence ... need a few beers for that first. Advice?? Do this trip. Thanks Estee. - GillJ1180 contributionsGreat tripWe started off walking around Kuching with our guide Farah she was brilliant- learnt so much experienced so much - then a boat ride over the river and a bike ride -the whole experience lasted about 5 hours, tasting loads of different types of Malaysian cuisine seeing lots of sights. It was a very hot day but so worth the trip - thank you againWritten 29 November 2019
- Maison d0 contributionsWhat a fantastic way to spend the morning - a great personalised tripWe had a wonderful morning / early afternoon (way over the allotted 4 hours). We were a small group but felt like we were the only ones there! Our guide was very informative and very knowledgeable. Having been living in Asia for a long time we needed to rekindle our love of Kuching and this certainly did the trick. We learnt loads about this area and its wonderful people. Highly recommended.Written 24 October 2019
- Dmoore6160 contributionsPersonalized ExperienceMy wife and I did this tour with Kelvin as our guide. He took great care of us and made it feel like a personalized experience. He got to know our food preferences and aimed to make us happy. Over the course of the tour we tried several different dishes including pastries, soups, noodles, drinks, sweets, and even an extra durian experience. In between the tastings we enjoyed walking and biking around to learn about Kuching from a local’s perspective. My wife considers herself a picky eater and was scared of the idea of a food tour at first but walked away pleasantly surprised. I was happy to have a memorable experience and inspired to seek out more food tours in future travels.Written 18 October 2019
- AntibesTraveler0 contributionsSoul Of The PrecinctThe Food Here is Far Superior to mc donalds and kentucky fried starbucks and so on that many foreigners tend to frequent especially transatlantic anglo saxons, food and other things are sick and excessively expensive in the u.k. food and everything else is disgusting in france I would rather climb Mount Pinatubo than go to either one of those places and I have severe Knee Arthrophy and Hamstring Injuries. I had plenty of reservations about going outside of Australia for a holiday when there are So Many Beautiful things to See and Do here Despite the Rabid state of its politics and the Corruption Injustice Inhumanity due to its umbilical links to the Facist u.k. Theocracy and Rogue republic and champaign socialist franco regime in the European Geopolitical sphere. All that aside I started afresh and I was Blown Away by the Hospitality and quality of Food. Over Here We have every taste but Kuching proves that they fit the Bill in Cooking Just Like Any Multi National Cooking Precinct Downunder After All The People Of The Indonesian Archipelago have had a Very Close link with Indigenous Australians Long before we imports called this Big island home I Love You`ll Kuching Come And Holiday In Northern Territory teach us more.Written 27 September 2019

- Ariel C0 contributionsReviewGreat food tour . Lots to eat ( in fact too much! ) and Poh shared so much about life in Penang and Malaysia as well . Great introduction to food and Poh as a local knew so much about quality and presentation that many would not .Written 15 August 2019
- rlbwiseman0 contributionsTour cancelled at 2am when tour was due to start at 9amReviews looked great, but we never had a chance to participate. Booked (and paid) for tour two people weeks in advance. We woke up the day of the tour and whilst getting ready saw the email sent at 2am that morning by the tour operator cancelling the tour without any explanation. Problem with refund too. After 6 emails viator finally agreed to refund but said it was not within policy for them to do so... Be careful before parting with cash.Written 12 August 2019
- 340jacintae0 contributionsKL food experience - Excellent!!!It was the highlight of our trip! Our group of six had a fantastic foodie day out with our wonderful host Jeffrey. Food was fresh and amazing! So much information about little India and China town. Jeffrey gave us a real taste of Malaysia. We had a great day out. - Maria V0 contributionsVery good food tourWe are regular "food tourers" and this has honestly been one of the best tours we've been on. Our guide, Farah, was very knowledgeable and gave us a good overview of what and where to eat in Kuching + a lot of information about the city, history and culture. It's also a good mixture of walking, biking and taking the water taxi. Recommendations: a) go hungry b) make sure to book this tour when in Kuching ;) Thanks Farah!Written 28 April 2019

When my adult son and I joined Charlie, our local guide, we weren't sure what too expect. But over the next four hours we had an educational, humorous and ultimately tasty adventure that was a highlight of our stay in Malaysia. What a fantastic way to see Kuala Lumpur without being too touristy. Charlie's knowledge of local traditions, neighbourhoods (everyone knows him) and what to taste gave us an up close and personal experience of KL that we couldn't have achieved on our own. Do yourself a favour. Get a small group together, have a small breakfast/lunch and take this tour. You won't regret it. Oh - and don't forget to get a takeaway iced tea.

We had a great time with Ian as our guide. This was more than a food tour, since we Ian was very knowledgeable and shared lots of information about Malaysian history and culture along the way. The street food was great. You get to taste Malay, Indian and Chinese food. I enjoyed a lot and would truly recommend this tour if you want to have a unique experience in KL.

Jeff and Charlie were excellent and passionate hosts and storytellers. Not only did we experience great food, but we learnt a lot about the culture and history of KL and Malaysia. It gave us a new and different appreciation for KL.
Pace of the tour was really good. We thought the tour was only 3 hours, but it was still going strong at the 4 hour mark (unfortunately we had to leave because of another appointment, so missed the last food stop!).
This really will be the best half day tour you'll do in KL.

This tour was great. Timothy was informative and very happy to answer questions. The tour is more than just a food tour, you also get a little bit of history, plenty of food to try and a fair amount of walking involved.

We had a great time on this tour led by Jeff, a super friendly and knowledgeable guide. We only had one day in Kuala Lumpur and this was a great way to pack in a load of sights, gain some local knowledge and try a whole host of different foods! Everywhere we went we were made to feel welcome and Jeff introduced us to lots of amazing local dishes as well as the stories behind them and the areas we were visiting.
(we also went on the Urban Adventures Food Tour in Singapore - which was great too - and we enjoyed this even more)

The tour comprised a personal tour, just my wife, myself and guide Jeff.
We visited a range of eating places & tried all sorts of delicious Malay food.
In addition to the food this was a way to get a good understanding of real Kuala Lumpur.
Jeff explained all sorts of aspects of life not just food related.
Really good.

Hi
We would like to do this tour on 11th July but we have tickets for the Petronas Towers at 10am. Would we be able to get to the tour starting point by 11am?? This is the only day we can do this!
Thanks

Our ship can deliver us to Pavillion Shopping Mall near Jalan Bukit Bintang. Is it convenient for someone to meet us there? Also return us there?
Or can we arrange to be met and returned at Port Klang? What would be the charge for the additional transportation?

Hi, Do you do similar food tours later in the day ? As we only land around 10 am and will not be able to get there on time. Thank you
