- MRK62new0 contributionsA food tour with Siddoz - leaving no room for anything else!We undertook a food tour with Siddoz which exposed us to the very many varied cuisines available in Kuala Lumpar, and he proved to be a very knowledgeable food host. Along with his offsider trainee guide Raja, we learnt a great deal about not just the food, but what goes into it, and the endless variety of what we might consider to be the nasi, mee, and ayam classics, and so on. Trying everything from unusual small cakes, flavoursome tea, various forms of laksa, tasting noodles everywhere from the real back street food scene to the new and upmarket, the night did not lack from a variety of foods and tastes. The tour also had the advantage of being able to be experienced within a short walking distance so the time was well spent. On a final note, bring your appetite. There's a lot to try and experience!Written 8 September 2024

- Safari539787381150 contributionsExcellentbvalueManjeet was great...I peppered her with questions on Malaysian life for 2 days and, as a native, she answered them all...and with stories you don't find in travel books. Plus, she really cared about us, even paid for our GRAB ride back to our hotel when my GRAB app wouldn't work. Also, unlike many tour guides, she speaks great English so she is very understandable. You will NOT be disappointed with Manjeet.Written 12 August 2024

- PavlH0 contributionsGreat street food tour by an interesting guideWe met TK at the entrance to the Central Market. Throughout the tour, we were shown interesting sites and tasted some great street food. I would recommend TK to all as he is engaging and can take you to places for food that you would probably miss without him. Highlights were the ‘pigs intestine noodles’, the Tom Yam noodles, the durian and the peanut pancake. The tour around the temple was also very informative and interesting.Written 1 August 2024
- theadventurousness0 contributionsA taste of Malaysia! So glad we booked this last minute during our visit to KL! Our guide a TK was amazing - lots of learnings not just about different cuisine but also took us through market / shops to understand ingredients. He also gave us insight's into the multiculturalism of Malaysia and tips and tricks around shopping in markets. We enjoyed all of the dishes he selected and how he has deep roots to the local stall owners through multigenerations. He was a fantastic guide and human being! Would book this again in future and ask for TK as your guide - thank you!Written 18 July 2024

We did the Night Market Tour. May was very knowledgeable about all the foods we experienced. She really listened and tailored the experience to our allergies and likes while gently pushing us to try new and interesting things. I highly recommend experiencing Kuala Lumpur’s Night Market with May to guide you through all the exciting food options.

We had a brilliant tour around Bukit Bintang and tried a lot of different foods. Our guide Ramesh was really friendly and knowledgable, introducing us to many foods and streets we would not otherwise have tried. He went out of his way to ensure we had all a great evening, including my 12 year old daughter who is usually a very picky eater but who happily ate more new foods that night than the rest of the year put together. Ramesh ensured we knew how to get back to our hotel and sent us a list afterwards of all the things we’d tried, which was really appreciated as there was a lot! I highly recommend this tour for anyone who’d like to learn more about the wonderful foods in this city and to eat like a local.

Great walking tour of KL local food scene. Knowledgeable and friendly tour guide was on time and provided an overview of expectations and asked about food allergies and preferences.
We experienced the varied Malaysian cuisine featuring Chinese, Malay, and Indian inspired dishes. We sampled many items and love trying new things I never had before. I felt the quality and the cleanliness was excellent. The restaurants and food stalls were very busy and it was exciting to experience part of KL with a friendly local who helped educate me on food, culture and life in Malaysia.
Highly recommend!

Pricey for what you get... Street food is very cheap and the local guide has no expenses other than covering the price of food. First stop is in the mall to try one bite size thing! Then rushed to the locally renowned street with food vendors to eat a few local treats. Then sat for a couple plates of traditionnal dishes. Guide was knowledgeable but very rushed from start to finish. Did not last the advertised lenght of time. We were left somewhat dissapointed. Would have been better off looking up the famous street on Google and strolling along at our pace.

My husband and I absolutely loved our food tour with Manjeet. We booked the 2 hour tour and it was a delicious and educational experience. Our tour was a delight from the minute we met Manjeet.
Because of possible rain, she came prepared with multiple umbrellas, which we ended up having to use. The food options were wonderful and since we were staying with Bukit Bintang, we revisited some of the eateries during our stay. Manjeet is a native from KL. She had a very calm demeanor and was a wealth of information when it came to her hometown, the many different cultures represented and the vast variety of foods that can be found. We visited Lot 10 and Jalan Alor and got hooked on Mangosteen. During our 2 hours together, we filled up on local delights and she provided useful tips for our short visit to KL.
I do also want to mention that Manjeet did check about food allergies and preferences. My husband and I luckily don't have any but we appreciated being asked. I would highly recommend booking Manjeet!

During our Kuala Lumpur food adventure, our family of four with 2 young kids had the pleasure of exploring the culinary wonders with our incredible guide, Zack. He led us to discover the best food spots in the busy Bukit Bintang area, where the bustling streets captivated us.
Zack's knowledge of the local food scene was remarkable, and he introduced us to unique experiences. Instead of the usual dishes, we had a surprisingly delicious fish on a stick called otak otak, and the kids couldn't get enough of the enormous dim sum and dosa with honey in a cone shape. It was a delight to see their excitement and enjoyment throughout the tour.
The bustling streets of Bukit Bintang added a lively and energetic atmosphere to the whole experience. With Zack's storytelling and passion for the city's culinary delights, our family's day was truly unforgettable. Many thanks for making our Kuala Lumpur journey so special!

We (2 people) did the Tour "A taste of Kuala Lumpur" with Siddoz. We met punctually at 5:30 h at Molten Chocolate Cafe, where we started a very nice food tasting tour. I recommend it for all visitors who want to experience the local food, but do not feel confident enough to choose the dishes at the small restaurants and kiosks along the street market. We tried various dishes in the Jalan Along Night market and the surrounding area. Siddoz explained always, what were the ingredients, how to eat the dish or how it is cooked.. Very interesting tour, Thank you Siddoz!

Great to see the real food of KL. Host was very friendly polite and knowledgeable.
Recommend going on this hungry as quite a bit if food that we were struggling to get through towards the end and we did the “lighter” food tour.

We picked TK as our KL guide and we couldn't be more please. Initially we had booked him for a food tour but we were looking for a one day tour including Batu Caves and quick peeks at the hot spots of KL. He did not disappoint and really gave us a nice all encompassing overview of the city/culture/food. TK clearly has a passion for all things Malaysia. He's an energetic/dynamic/funny guide and we had a blast spending the day with him. I would not hesitate to recommend him to friends and family travelling to KL. You won't be disappointed!

TK was amazing from beginning to end. He brought us to try so many different foods and flavors that are local to the area. While walking between each food spot, he would give tidbits in the culture, stop at photo spots, or point out additional delicious food spots for us to try on our own later.
Overall, I highly recommend for anyone considering booking a food tour. There is simply no way to know, sample, and find all these food spots without a local guide who has tried them all!

Is this night food tour suitable for kids? My kids are 8 and 5? Thanks.
Written 9 August 2019
I'd 100% recommend for kids. There are plenty of non spicy options and there isn't much walking. Plus you have options with the dim sum so can choose things they'll like.

Hi would it be okay to take a toddler (18 months) in a stroller?
Written 14 June 2019
I'd say yes - providing the little one is happy to be pushed around early evening food markets! Certainly no problem with access. And I'd imagine food also no problem if toddler likes to experiment! Just make sure you tell the guide who should make contact with you a few days before your trip.
Written 16 June 2019
Yes it is on foot but there is not a lot of walking involved, everything was quite close to each other.
