    Cool experience!
I would recommend the Sky Box and Sky Deck - Sky Box is especially cool because you can look down and have the city under your feet! Views are amazing, plus you get to see the Petronas Towers from here. Pro tip: go early in the morning so it's not as busy and you can spend a little extra time in the Sky Box

Expensive for what it is. Do Petronas Towers instead.
The ticket options are a bit confusing but were easy to get on the day we went. The Sky Deck is an open viewing platform (nice open air views, in contrast to Petrnoas Towers which is behind glass). We also did the 'Observation Deck' which is one floor down but as this was behind glass we didn't feel it was worth it. Note on the Sky Deck, there is a long queue (45 min) for the 'Sky Box' experience and we didn't feel it was worth the wait or expense for that; it is the same view after all just in a box with a glass floor. All in all the tickets were quite expensive and in retrospect we would have just done the Petronas Towers since they are more iconic, and it's a similar view from both. If you can't do Petrnoas Towers because the tickets are sold out this is a close substitute. There is also a restaurant at the top which we didn't try.

Stop defacing flags on the world peace gong!
This probably was once upon a time the picture to get but now with the KLCC Petronas Towers, as well as the impending 118 building it’s probably just a drive-by photo opportunity now. I was also unimpressed that the nearby world peace gong had all the countries flags listed, but one conspicuously was peeled off! Can you guess which one? Defacement of that flag is an act of terrorism IMHO and Malaysian government immediately should paste it back on & bring those who defaced it to Justice!

Kl Tower Observation Deck (Outside) plus Skybox 1
What an amazing experience! This was on my “must do” list while visit KL for the first time. So glad I did!! I went early and got there when they opened. I had not prepurchased a ticket as I didn’t want yo be locked in to a time. It paid off going early as there were no queues for tickets. I purchased the Outside Observation Deck ticket PLUS the Skybox 1 (( there are 2… one with Petronas Towers {#1} in background, and the other {#2} with the new Merdika 118 building {now 2nd tallest building in the world apart from Burj Khalifa in UAE} )) Once inside, you are ushered by very helpful staff to a lift and according to your ticket, the correct floors are selected for you & you’re told where to alight. Once on your floor, your ticket is scanned again, (at this point if you’re doing the Skybox, you will be given a number. Do not lose it! It’s your queue number) and you are free to take as long as you like admiring the incredible views from 335m up! You can walk all the way around. As you admire the view, you will (if you bought a Skybox ticket), be listening out for your number to be called. Then proceed to the relevant Skybox. You have a little time in the Skybox to take your own quick photos and the photographer is only too happy to take pics on your mobile for you too. He will then take a few professional pics which you can view inside, but are not obliged to purchase. I absolutely loved the Skybox experience, but be warned it is not for the faint hearted!! You are standing on glass 335m up !!! Brilliant fun !! Highly recommend Allow 1-2 hours depending how quickly your queue number gets called. If you buy a ticket to the outdoor observation deck, you can also get access to the lower inside deck (but not vice versa)

We enjoyed our KL tower experience.
A wonderful trip up the tower and great views of Kuala Lumpur. We were surprised that the lineups were short and the trips up and down were well organized and enjoyable.

Great views from the KL tower
We visited the tower as part of an overall excursion, to make sure we did the Batu caves as well. Its not quite as iconic as Petronas but still offers some fantastic views. You can see Petronas from the observation deck, but only at an angle. It offers fantastic views all around and is well worth a visit. Tickets are probably to be booked in advance, it was fairly busy but minutes not hours to wait.

    Visit the PETRONAS towers instead.
If this were the only tall tower in KL then it might be worth the trip. But there's the PETRONAS towers. In addition I had a very unpleasant experience. I paid for and took the elevator to the outdoor observation deck near the top. There are two glass enclosed sky boxes, and for a small fee you get to enter whichever one you choose. You are given a number and you wait. I waited and watched as groups of two, three, and four entered in turn the sky box, had their pictures taken by a professional photographer, and in leisurely fashion enjoyed the view. Typically between 5 and 10 minutes. Now it's my turn. I enter the box, one of the attendants asks me if I want my photo taken, I say no, and after 45 SECONDS he tells me my time is up. Why I was treated differently from the other guests, I don't know. My guess is that since they make money if you have your photo taken they want to hustle along non-paying customers. Just a guess. I'm 75 years old. In some societies people defer to and show respect for older people. This disparate treatment unfairly turned me off to Malaysia.

    Older KL monument
No need to get so close as magic of this architectural building is more from distance. There are several other interesting places so close, like Merdeka square and China town

    Encompassing tower
Menara Kuala Lumpur is a skyscraper in the Malaysian capital. While most go for the observation deck, the tower itself transforms into a sci-fi attraction at night. The illuminated building forms an eerie but interesting landscape.

    Petronas without the crowd.
After seeing the long line for petronas we headed here, and glad we did. No crowd or queue and we had unlimited time to wander around the outside deck. Def worth doing.

Good to visit as a tourist
3/5 1st October 2023 Came here as a tourist. Got to save its pretty nice up there to look at the views. But I felt the organization of the lifts and everything was a disaster as we were stuck up there for 30 minutes due to poor management. I hope it’s not the same usually but that was my experience. Good to come here if you’re a tourist.

I stayed 3 nights in KL and unfortunately had no time to visit Menara Kuala Lumpur. The tallest in KL. It changes the colors every few seconds.

We got the observation deck tickets of the Menara KL tower as complimentary from the travel agent. The tower has 2 parts, sky deck is the level above and the observation deck is below. We checked with the counter there and an upgrade to skydeck would be an additional 50 RM, we skipped upgrading as we had another observation at Petronas towers the next day. So my advise would be to do any one either Petronas towers or Skydeck of KL tower (not obseravtion deck) as both have similar views.

On your way back you’ll see a small colorful house which is upside down, its known as upside down house, we though it was like a cafe but its just a spot for some pictures. Looks good .

Until the Merdeka 118 skydeck opens up I think the Sky Deck at the KL Tower offers the best aerial views of the city.

On one skybox you get great views of the Petronas Towers and then the other skybox is located right next to the Merdeka, so you get plenty of opportunities to get some great views and photos of these iconic towers.

Admission to the skydeck ($32) is wayyy more expensive than any other observation deck I've come across (including the Marina Bay Sands observation deck). Look, it's a great view at the Sky Deck, but I don't know if I would pay that in retrospect.

The observation deck is somewhat more moderately priced ($19) but the interesting thing is they didn't let myself or other Skydeck ticket holders to actually view this section (we technically paid for both the skydeck and observation deck). I don't know if something got lost in translation there or if you only get access to one or the other but it seems odd to include both on the ticketing if you opt for the Skydeck package.

Anyway, compared to the ticketing and queuing process at Petronas I would opt for the KL Tower Observation Deck, but probably the lower end package.

I went to this place with my family a few days before the Chinese New Year public holidays and had a terrible experience here. Paid 100 Ringgit per person to go up the tower and into the sky box. There was not much of a queue to go up the Tower and all seemed okay.

When we got to the top we were told there was a 3h wait to go into the Sky Box. The whole place was overcrowded to the point of barely finding a place where you could see the view. We ended up just spending a few minutes at the top as it was pointless trying to enjoy it and decided to go back down. That was when we realised the overcrowding actually could easily become dangerous. There was one sole person at the front of the queue who was not managing in any way the queue of people waiting to go down in the elevator. There was meant to be a queue only on one side of the corridor so people could have access to walk up and down the corridor on the other side, eg leave the queue and walk outside if they felt unwell or something. All of a sudden dozens of people from the back of the queue decided they no longer wanted to wait in the single line and pushed in front of everyone to form a second line and block the entire corridor. People started, naturally, to get annoyed, argue and push each other and nobody at all from the staff intervened or was even remotely capable of managing the situation.

I'm not sure if the situation got further out of control as it felt dangerous and our kids were getting distressed. So I picked them up and,as luckily I am a "big guy" (1m90 and 220 pounds),I could push my way through the queue to the lift with the intention of walking the whole way back down the stairs with my family. Fortunately we ended up at the floor where the restaurant was and took the lift down there. On top of the fact somebody could have been hurt the corridor where you had to wait to queue was uncomfortably hot, claustrophobic and without any adequate air conditioning. Maybe the place is less crowded during the week and not like this but it felt completely disorganised and overall a terrible experience for the money. Why not just skip this and go up the Petronas Towers which is a far better experience. As a result I would not recommend doing this to anyone.

My friend and I tried to get same-day tickets to the Petronas Towers near our accomodation but we did not realise we should have booked tickets in advance of our travel to KL. So we ended up going to this tower instead. This turned out to be a good fortune for us because it was not only cheaper but I also believe we would have got the nearly the same view as from the Petronas. From this tower you can also see Petronas Towers itself! There is a free bus from the base of the hill up to the top where the entrance into the tower is. We did not have to wait too long for the lift up to the observation deck. The view from the tower was lovley and it is also possible to see the Batu Caves in the distance as well. I recommend doing this on a nice sunny day so you can maximise your viewing.

Great view on the top of observation deck .... buying the cheapest ticket should be good enough in taking the panoramic view.

if you are afraid of height... you should not even attempt to go up but it is very safe and nice tower to view at night since it changes in so many colors.

The SkyBox deck is open-air whereas the Observation deck has glass and support structures obstructing views. The wait to ride the elevator up was 55 minutes. If you can walk a few steps between decks, then your wait can be a bit shorter. Upon reaching the SkyBox deck, you receive a slip with queue number for the SkyBox, a glass enclosure with views directly below. I waited more than an hour for my turn, but the SkyBox 1 queue advanced only 20 slots and I had another 40+ slots before my turn so I ditched. SkyBox 2 had no wait on the opposite side. I suppose that is a higher priced ticket.

I think the facility could be run more smoothly by limiting tickets and assigning time windows.

Due to the torrential thunderstorms that were occurring on the day of our visit, we elected just to go to the observation deck rather than any of the other attractions.

Although our view was stifled somewhat by the weather, for the 30RM ticket cost (and because we'd also visited the Eco Park for free) it gave us a good insight into the KL skyline before our future visit to the Petronas Towers. Recommended if you're in the area, but I wouldn't make a special journey just to seek it out.

Visited the KL tower and were surprised to find discounts for people over 60. The discounts included the observation deck and the glass box which is a bit leg wobbling but great views. We were also entitled to visit the mini zoo and blue coral which were a bit disappointing. The 2 snakes are with looking at they are huge.

Be sure to pay a little extra to go to the Skydeck while there. Great pictures from the glass box. Fun to look down the entire bottom under your feet. Note that the discount tickets offered from the travel guys only include the observation deck, which is fine, but the sky deck is another notch above the standard experience. Outstanding unobstructed views.

The Menara Kuala Lumpur is a communications tower that also takes tourists up to the top for views of the city. It’s not as crowded as Petronas, but the views are just as good and not as expensive. I’ve done both the towers and I can honestly say that there’s not much difference between the two for entertainment value. Petronas is better for name recognition though. Still a good tower to get views of the city.
