We embarked on the Day Tour to Melaka, led by the responsible and knowledgeable guide, Johnson. The itinerary was filled with rich historical information, offering a jam-packed experience. The tour came at a great price, inclusive of a delightful lunch served in a local restaurant with a round table setup, providing a chance to connect with our fellow guests. The lunch itself was truly amazing.

Edward was the perfect tour guide, arriving at our hotel on time, with a very clean modern mini bus. After driving for approx. 1.5 hours we arrived at beautful Malaka. Edward was a very informative guide. We visited the Fort, Malaka Red Square, Harmony Street and Junker Street amongst many other stops. Edward explained the history of Malaka and the buildings.
Lunch was at a small traditional Malaysian restaurant and was plentiful and delicious. There was ample tome to wander at each stop to explore further and take photographs.
I would highly recommend this tour.

We really enjoyed this day trip from Kuala Lumpur. There were about 7 of us in a air con minibus, with our driver/guide, taking 2 hours to get to Melaka. We saw all the najor sights and had a lovely lunch in a Melaka restaurant where we shared a number of local dishes. Great value trip.

We booked this tour on the Viatour site. I called to do the booking as I wanted to be dropped off at the airport when the tour ended The Viatour lady that did the booking said that she would put in a note for the company to contact me if there was a problem I never heard anything so I called the local contact # that was in the confirmation but it did not work so I called Viatour and spoke to an excellent woman who arranged a 3 way chat with the tour operator He said that we would have to leave at 7 AM in order to do everything so that we could be at the airport for a 4 PM drop off. He also indicated that he wanted a $40 US surcharge for the airport drop off We eventually settled on $25 US as that was the price I paid from the airport to our hotel
Our driver Stephen picked us on time and we headed off to Malacca. He never told us about our planned itinerary. Our first stop was mini Malaysia where he pulled up and walked us to the entry way. He told us to buy our tickets and wander around for 30 minutes. No hint as why we stopped or what was there. There were housed from each of the 13 states. No one was there to tell us anything so we left after 15 minutes next stop was an old Church from Portuguese times Again we were told to go in and have a look No charge here. Then we went to centre of Malacca. Stephen parked the car. He pointed towards St Paul’s church he said to wander the area to the left and right We were to meet him in 3 hours He basically gave no useful information. We wandered a bit and realized that we really could not figure out what to see There were bicycle chair tours in the waterfront area which we took for 50 Ringit. We at least got to see the areas of interest . We then stopped to do lunch ( on our own... not part of the tour) We found Stephen who did not seem concerned about our lack of enthusiasm for Malacca We headed back to the airport arriving at 2:30 PM
We were not happy having had to leave at 7 AM when 8 AM would have been fine We were not happy that we had a driver not a guide. I wrote to Viatour to complain but as of yet ( 3 days later) no one has addressed our concerns

The tour bus was punctual, with a very knowledgeable driver in Mr Avalee. he was excellent, giving information on the historical sites visited and insight into the Malaysian cultural landscape, a mixture of fact, fun & anecdotes, which made the two hour drive to Melaka less odious. The tour itself involves a good bit of walking and really can not do the city justice in such a short time, to visit all of the museums and cultural landmarks would take days. In saying that, a good overview was received and should we ever return, more time will be spent. I highly recommend Ivy Holidays for their professionalism and in particular Mr Avalee.

Johnson is a very professiional guide, his stories were engaging and humourous. He is also very punctual so the group was always on time without unnecessary delays.
2 suggestions for considerations:
1. The pick up instructions were a little vague. We were told to wait in front of Star Bucks at Berjaya Times Square. Many of us did not realised the bus was actualy along the main road a short distance from the front of Star Bucks. We waited till almost past time before one group member went to check and found the bus waiting. Instructions can be clearer with an image and perhaps the tour guide can also check outside Star Bucks for waiting passengers.
2. The lunch was underwhelming and it was especially disappointing as Malacca was well known for local cuisines. Many of the dishes (plain white rice, stir fry green vegetables, onion omelet, braised tofu, stir fried bean sprouts) were not very interesting or representative of the more famous local fare. At least 1 of the classics like Assam Pedas or Chicken Riceballs could be included (with additional fee of course) or allow participants to opt out of lunch.

Johnson was very capable in describing by details the history of Malaysia and in particular of the city which visited. He gave us enough free time to discover local highlights alone. However, not 100% satisfied by the food service include. For sure it was not 5* the quality of the food in the restaurant. I would have prefer to choose by myself what to eat perhaps in a buffet, and not general Asian foods as I did. Maybe you need to increase the price of the daily trip, but at least the client will be not disappointed by such an average lunch.

Because Melaka was one of the suggested destinations to visit while in Malaysia, I decided to sign up for this tour. I looked at the schedule to prepare myself, but little did I know I was in for a nice time. Despite the fact that I dislike history, our guide, Mr. Lucas, was able to explain the history of Melaka to us in a way that made it sound like a simple story for children. Additionally, we were given some time to explore each area so that we could take pictures and read more about the signage, etc. We visited St. Peter's Church, the Dutch Square, and Porta de Santiago before enjoying a delicious meal of authentic Malacca cuisine, which was followed by a pleasant dessert. After that, we went by a Chinese temple and had about an hour to explore Jonker street, which I personally found to be a bit too enjoyable because it was filled with so many souvenir stores, food booths, and coffee shops (because who doesn't love coffee?!). Overall, I heartily endorse taking this vacation! I'd also like to compliment our driver, Mr. Zul, for delivering us safely to and from Melaka.
P.S. I advise bringing a hand fan and/or umbrella because it can get hot, especially at noon.

Fantastic day tour to explore the culture and history of Malacca. Our tour guide Johnson was informative, engaging and humorous as we visited sites and walked across the city. He catered to the needs of the group, making pit stops when needed and adapting to the pace of the group. My personal favourite part was seeing the Dutch Square alongside views of the Malacca river. A big lunch was provided and free time in the afternoon to do your own exploring on Jonker or other parts of Malacca if you prefer. At the end, there's a convenient drop off at your hotel in KL. Bus is also very comfortable!

Very good tour sightseeing the historical Mallaca, really enjoyed it with our tour guide mr.Willson and our driver Ravi. The lunch was also good. I recommend it for a day tour, preferably to go during the week time as the weekend is quite crowded in the city, there are many tourists and locals

Yes our tour guide gave us the option to do the river cruise. But we opted to do a little bit of souvenir shopping, have a snack and walk around instead.
But the river cruise is totally doable.

It was about 10 hrs, we were picked up approx 8.15am then back in KL about 6ish but the traffic was a nightmare when we reach KL so you need to allow time for that.

帰りは帰りながらホテルに降ろしたり、観光名所などで降りる事もできました。
