What to Expect
Your tour begins with pickup from your San Pedro de Atacama hotel. Meet your guide and settle into the air-conditioned minivan for the journey into the heart of the Atacama desert. Make a short stop along the way to see the Cordillera de Sal (Salt Mountain Range), a rugged landscape of canyons and dunes.
Upon arrival at the Valle de la Luna (Valley of the Moon), pay the entrance fee (own expense) and get insight into the area's geology and ecology through the museum's exhibits. Then, with your guide, venture into a small cave to explore its formations, then hike up a sand dune to view the spectacle of the setting sun lighting up the desert with an orange glow.
Afterward, return to the van for the return journey. Your tour concludes with a drop-off back at your hotel.

Not enough stops for lavatory break is the only bad aspect of this otherwise spectacular tour. High altitude means breathtaking is spectacular but spectacularly breathtaking scenery to be seen. Truly breathtaking
